Replacing bulbs
I thought I'd better make sure of the facts. I still don't understand why the H1 only does the high beam, but with three pins it must surely have two filaments? When I look in the headlamp glass it looks like just one filament as the H3C has:confused:

Replacing bulbs
I can see that on the o/s headlight, accesss is possible, but the inlet tubes are in the way on the n/s for the main beam? DAN, Is the adaptor no longer needed when H1 bulbs are fitted? I'm going to give the ebay trader the chance to correct this mistake.

Replacing bulbs
I've scoured the forum for these basic answers but cannot find what I need to know. 1) Do I have to remove my headlights just to fit some bulbs? 2) On the high beam clip, what is the action to remove it? (pinch the ends together etc?) Been trying for ages but seems stuck! I ordered a set of bulbs for my headlights from ebay which are all H3's which I now know won't fit. as far as I can see, the outer bulbs are H3C's, the inner mains have the H1 3 pin connector, but looking through the lens (as I can't remove either) the ends resemble H3 tips - Do the Jap cars have an adaptor ring and standard H1's will definitely fit? getting majorly p*ss*d off with this nonsense now!!!:headvswal *Taps fingers and awaits pages of info on HID lights*

Bargain Zed for £370 on Feebay
Can't really say no to this if you have the room? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200382575855&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123

How would you go about repairing this
~You need to assess the extent of the rust under the filler first. If you don't want to spray all the trim black etc, use some cellulose thinners to remove the paint from the fittings but remove them from the car first. If you spray black over the trim, it won't take long before you start to see the red again...

not started car in two months
Clutch could be stuck as well with amount of rain we've had! Easily sorted though...

Too FEW miles??
Does that rear number plate help you with the speed camera's? :)

why has my dipstick popped out?
Surely it would be an increase to push the dipstick out?

Air Con problem
I'm hoping the bloke didn't put the recommended volume of gas in that was stated for the R12. Apparently the new gas expands much more than the old, and only approx 75% is needed...too much gas will result in no cooling even though it will still go through the motions!

Nissan V Blueprint ... Cambelt showdown
Thanks for the Cambelt change on my car last week Jeff. It was a long day out but all very worth the wait - very re-assuring to know all is well with my car and everything is now set up as it should be. Yet another happy customer thanks to Jeff and his crew :hyper:

Bargain headunit
I did see your player Dave, I wanted one with a card reader and USB though. I replaced a kenwood with one of these FLi units, there was no comparison in my opinion...
-
Bargain headunit
They are really good although still building a reputation for ICE. I especially wanted the card reader because of the cd skipping due to my stupidly low, low profiles lol

How many Zeds left?
Makes me forty then

Bargain headunit
I was waiting to bid on an identical unit, but at cheapest would have been £60, so this really was a bargain...I already have one of these in my Delica and it sounds incredible.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110432151761&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Too FEW miles??
My car has a stated 58k on this, looking at the overall condition it probably is correct...

Alarm/Central locking Question
That would do what you want, but are you sure your car doesn't have C/L? Be worth a look in the doors/fusebox etc before buying a kit.

Brake pads
Which make are generally recommended? Are the more expensive makes worth splashing out on, and do they chuck out less dust?

Tappet Noise
if it is a tappet, it won't cause any damage. My car has a tappet which is noisy when it feels like it.

Rear light panel
Well the lights will still look white unless the fogs are on, small sacrifice to lose the aftermarket fog light, not often the rear fog is used so it's really for MOT purposes.

Detective Jeff of Zedworld PD Triumphs Again!
Am off to Zedworld for my first ever visit tomorrow - new cambelt and diagnosis time! Will be able to drive my car without fear of the engine getting mullered!
-
Rear light panel
I've no idea either but on the two panels I have here, all four clear lenses would be lit by the bulbs. If it's any consolation, I do feel guilty, I've done similar things in the past. I just assume that everyone on here knows more than me on the finer details of the Zed...

Rear light panel
I'm also trying a mod on this panel - I'm guessing someone will have tried it before, others will see no point to it I guess... I'm splitting the light housing into two sections, each with it's own bulb (led's in this case) so that the bottom lights will be reversing lights and the top two will be fog lights - I'm itching to get rid of the annoying add on fog light! Will post pics of how it turns out if anyone's interested.

Specifications
Those figures definitely make me grin - I bought this car on a complete whim (have owned over 80 motors now) but as I'm spending cash on my Zed it indicates it could be a permanent fixture! Highly impractical, guzzles gas but = immense fun..!

Rear light panel
OO thanks very much smithy - not often I have luck like this :)
