  1. Trouble is that when I do a search, nearly every post has a different battery number suggested! My current one is a type 075. Does anyone know which was the factory type? Normally the car gets left for up to a week and still starts ok, I did find that the passenger door wasn't shut properly so possibly the interior light may have stayed on? I've got the battery on charge and will try it back on the car before condemning it...
  2. Also the alternator is permanently hooked up to the battery. If someone turned the key with the polarity reversed, all the other circuits would also be introduced...should be fairly easy to at least get the dash lights on and engine turning over, difficult part may be in actually starting the engine.
  3. That sucks
  4. I'm in sunny Hemel Hempstead - I'm guessing you know the area quite well? It's the place where no other Zx's exist!!
  5. Surely if there is a beam pattern it will be throwing the light the other way to how we'd want due to being LHD in the states? if there is no beam pattern, then I can't see the point as to why all cars have this from the factory and why we have to stick beam convertors on when we go to France etc
  6. Thanks richie, I think mine might have had a respray over the spoiler and tailgate meaning there is likely to be a lip where the two meet, will check it out when I go out to the car :)
  7. Whats the story when the original spoiler is removed - is there paint underneath or does it all need a respray afterwards?
  8. I'll have a pretty near mint tweed set of seats going once I get some replacements lol Oh and interior panels to match
  9. I can't decide between the two - I'm having trouble finding either type in good condition for reasonable money. Any pro's and cons? Craigtt offered his interior but it's difficult to gauge the condition with no pictures...
  10. Won't the old caliper catch on the road a bit  Seriously though, looking good and must have a improvement on the braking..
  11. TPS seems to be fine - any other ideas?
  12. Cheers Willie, I'll give it a go.
  13. When starting the car from cold, the revs are up a bit as expected (about 1200) but fail to decrease although the car is warmed up but if the engine is turned off and back on again, the expected idle of around 900 is evident! It does this without exception each time and there is no faultering or erratic idling, just either of the two figures of revs. My only thoughts are to do with the water temp sensor/connectors or possibly an air lock which sorts itself if the engine is turned off?
  14. Atf is the same fluid (dexron II) I believe.
  15. I will have it on a dyno as soon as poss, but in the meantime I'd like to set it to similar settings that someone else is running with one of these. I have a JD chip, performance exhaust, decat, induction kit so this was the next step really :)
  16. The difference is staggering to me! I was expecting a bit more oomph but this is incredible - it was up to 75mph in no time and even then it was trying to wheelspin in the dry and on the straight, something tells me the boost has to be set way too high
  17. If someone has a Blitz SBC II D fitted on their Zed, would you mind sharing the settings, also any additional tips would be useful. Do you normally expect to see any smoke under harsh acceleration when these are first fitted? It's shocked me how much power this has unleashed and I don't really want to blow the engine up before I've had a chance to crash it lol!
  18. Also, any vibration to the tank from the exhausts is gonna surely kick up any dregs from the bottom of the tank straight into your fuel line....Nice!
  19. Since those tank straps are designed for the tank plus fuel, I would have thought any extra load added would be detrimental. Being a fuel tank, is it worth the risks?
  20. I had my belt changed at zedworld, Jeff said he would inspect the tensioners etc and change if necessary - they were fine. I guess if you are competent about looking for wear and play then you should be ok.
  21. Whoaaaa! I was bidding on this car when I was looking for one - it reached a price higher than I was willing to pay. Sorry you've got to sell mate.
  22. Worth checking that nothing is left on in the car (boot light staying on etc). An easy way to prove would be to take one side of the battery connectors off each time the car is left for some time.
  23. You can leave the aircon belt off. If that doesn't work, it's worth removing each belt in turn to see if the noise stops (won't do any harm to start the engine briefly to listen). I had this very same noise from an alternator bearing and although there felt like no play in the bearing, under tension it was noisy. Start with the easy stuff before diving in and splashing cash out :)
  24. Site terms (or indeed any companies T's & C's) are NOT law. They are how the company would like the law to be! If you press any company to adhere to their policies through legal action, they will back down. An instance of this would be if I said (via my company's T & C's,) I own your house if you do not pay me within 3 seconds of placing an order!! Not really going to stand up in court lol. I think you did the right thing too in taking a refund. The company does not deserve the trade - they are probably near doubling their profits and yet would rather lose an order
  25. In that case, the terms and conditions would have to state 'we can charge what we damn well choose to' Internet or not, they have to abide by the sale of goods act, and in this case, the contract was complete. You own the seats, they are legally obliged to send them.
