Hi

my Hicas light is staying on and from post's on here it looks like first looks is the power steering fluid, had a look, it looked low. when i drove off the light stayed off, so my stiring made me think it is the reason.

 

Now i only want to top it up a little , and i do have some automatic tramsmission fluid, so is this fluid okay for a top up? or am i looking for a false economy.

Atf is the same fluid (dexron II) I believe.

Automatic fluid is the same i think, but Dexron III is more suitable i think? - I'm sure thats what jamie @ Zedworld said. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon to correct or confirm. :D

yeah thats what i use, make sure the little level float has seated properly.
