wheels
check out the Rial Lemans on ww.zcentre.co.uk 8.5 x 19" and according to luke the offset is big enough that the 8.5 doesnt look small in the zed arches. I'm thinking of getting a set of the same, you may find a slightly better deal elsewhere on the internet but Luke is a very helpful chap so I wouldnt go elsewhere. Anybody else got any pics of these wheels on thier car?

Custom bodywork: Any Recommendations?
Frank has got my car at the moment, have never met him in person but spoken to him several times and had my car shipped half way across the country cos I really wanted him to do the respray. He seems very confident with the job, does 300's all the time and was about half the price of the local rip off merchants in my area (hampshire) Some cracking examples of his work on the zcentre site.

I'm saying my goodbyes

Observations from Poland
I had to explain to the missus when I got home that having a child is no excuse for getting a fat arse!! the number of yummy mummies out there beggars belief, women with nearly new sprogs or toddlers are still as "toight as a toiger" as goldmember would say.... It been a bit depressing since I've been home, wandered round sainsburys getting some food in and 90% of the women were real munters. There should be a law against it! Polish vokda is the mutts nuts, bought a load of it home, as well as the compulsory super cheap fags! Shame they lost all my bags and tools on the way home, about two grand worth of tools gone missing !!!! Wont be doing any jobs on the Zed until they are found!!! bugger....

Observations from Poland
Completly non Zed related but I have just come back from working for a few days in Poland and thought I would share some observations Polish Women, Kylie Minogues back side is nothing special in Poland, for want of a better word to describe the vast majority of Polish women I would say "tight" sums it up best!!! Polish Driving   I thought I was going to die on several occasions, roads with more than one lane are rare which leads to some seriously crazy head on overtaking manouvers, taxi drivers in clapped out old cars attempt stuff I wouldnt even think about in the zed!!!!! Japanese Driving    Truely shocking!!! Makes the polish cabies look like a cautious old lady!!! Worked with a group of Japanese guys whose driving was unbelieveable, in the space of three days had several near misses on the roads, and missed a ditch by an inch or two on a building site and nearly had a back to nature experience by driving straight into a tree!! Polish Beer and Vodka, :duffer: very very very very cheap! hardly spent any money at all!!! The women all seem to drink beer through straws?????????????????? must lead to some very drunk girls..... Pretty cool place really!!

Why a 300ZX.
Kind of still on topic, does anybody know anything about the GT3000/GTO's ? A neighbour has a really nice '96 VR4 (4wd 320BHP, 6speed) which goes like stink. Not my cup of tea but it's still a great car. Any idea how my stock Zed compares? Thats one of the reason I'm planning all my mods, gotta keep up with the jones's !!! :D

I Love You I Love You
My ex and her brother used to be friends with Daniel and Natasha when they were kids(and there is another sister so expect another beddingfield release soon!) what makes me laugh is her last single was banging on about how she was single and loving it and didnt need a bloke...

Mods AND reliability!!
Indeed, unless your car is a total loss and Mr Insurance inspector comes to have a look at it you're unlikely to get caught out. And even then they aren't looking for mods, they are trying to put a value to the car for the pay-out. Of course if you do get caught out you can kiss goodbye to any payouts you may be due, all the premiums you have paid and you may well be getting a knock from your friendly local fraud plod!!!

The first forum wedding, congratulations..

Mods AND reliability!!
  reminds me of my silvia, spent a grand on mods (thats a lot of dough for a 18yr old!!!) and it went pop very soon afterwards.. Was done by Silvia Engineering (now known as SE right?) cant fault thier work it went fast as foook (for a while anyway!!) The the general rule of thumb is Cooling is good and will protect the engine internals but isn't going to protect the tubs if I insist on running silly boost. SO what about detonation, car only runs on Optimax, if I got for a max 14-16psi with a remapped ecu and stock injectors am I likely to get detontation? water injection is a lot cheaper than a set of new nismos!!!! :D

Mods AND reliability!!
Forgot to mention '99 spec front bumper being fitted which I understand also offers better air flow (hope I'm right with that!!) and slam panel thingie too from smithys place. 3degree drop in temp sounds good to me!

Mods AND reliability!!
Hello again, It's becoming a major job planning all the stages of modding my car, but I'm slowly getting there... next stage is performance, already done the filter (blitz) and the catback exhaust is on its way. I'm planning on a remapped ECU and a greddy boost controller so I can have sensible boost (12psi??) most of the time and silly boost (14-16psi??) on the odd occasion to try to eek out the life of the standard tubs as long as I can. Now I'm a little paranoid about blowing things up as I have done in the past on other cars by going about it in the wrong way (massive boost upgrades and no consideration to cooling) Along with fitting a set of oil temp, coolant temp and boost guages I was also thinking of either bigger intercoolers and/or water jets for the ICs, seen a diy waterjet FAQ and it certainly isnt rocket science. Also a bigger rad is on the cards. Anything else I can do to keep things cool (and less prone to blowing up on me!!) I guess i'm unlikely to suffer detonation with these mods as they arent out of this world, but would water injection be a good safe guard too? I really dont mind spending a couple of grand on all this stuff cos in the long run I see it helping to prevent an even more expensive rebuild!!! or am I just wasting my dough and all these bits wont really help that much at all (turbos still go pop and pistons still melt....) Jeez the state of me, up at 12:30am worrying about my car... :slap:

Wheel restoration in Hampshire
I'm having a bit of a 'mare finding somewhere to completly restore and spray my standard wheels in Hampshire, I'm in Basingstoke so anywhere nearby (reading/bracknell etc) would be good. Alternatively if anybody is selling a really good set of standard wheels I'll have 'em!! Cheers

One way to make a GTO faster
The ironic this is, they would probably be really good for cooling down a PC!!!
-
One way to make a GTO faster
 Those things crack me up, couple of PC fans shoved after your air filter must add at least 50bhp not forgetting you will now get 70mpg. Would love to see the repair bills when it all falls apart and finds its way into the turbos!!!

Little chep things end up costing!!!
I had assumed it was "user error" not a prob with your kits, :D snapping plastic end caps off the rad etc. Just wanted some tips to avoid this kind of stuff being a bit of a clutz with a spanner I like to get fully prepared! Will be ordering hard pipes, fuel lines, and some other stuff too when the car comes back from the body shop! Think I'll stay out of this one for now, looks like it may get messy.... :nelson: :D :D :D
