This is what all Z's should have ...
Had the same problem this morning when the transporter came to take my car up to notthingham for bodywork, not to fussed about the old spoiler that was on there as it's having a new '99 spec one fitted. Think I'll be picking it up in person!! Let us know if you have any luck with the lambo dealer, would love to get something like that fitted!!!!

Little chep things end up costing!!!
Please let us know exactly what happened, my next project is engine bling and it would be cool to learn how things went pear shaped for you so I can try to avoid the same situation!!! :D thanks...

A spoiler, a bumper and 2 turbos
oh bugger, I was hoping turbos could be done without removing the lump, engine out is too big a job for me to contemplate, was hoping to upgrade my turbos myself.... more money to the garage I suppose....

Speed Detectors
Yeah but is it really gonna stop any of us using them? No chance!!! I use a combo of a Bluei GPS thingie and a LRC laser jammer, sure the jammer is a bit of a grey area as far as the legality goes but who cares!! Anyway I keep the box it came in tucked away in the boot, it says in big letter Laser Remote Control with a nice picture of a car remotely opening a garage door, thats what it's for officer!! :D

What are these ?
Had this confirmed to me by my four year old while I was doing the air filter, I gave him a b0llocking after my ears had stopped bleeding.

Standard speaker sizes
doesnt matter about positive and negative so long as you get them both the same way around on both speakers. If you have them connected up differently you get some very strange effect which makes them sound poo, cant explain it really just no bass and very tinny sounding. Somebody explained it to me once and it went right over my head......

new brake discs
Make sure you have the right size bolts to help remove the old discs (8mm and 6.5mm from memory) but the link should tell you, the old discs will probably be well and truely stuck and without them it's a nightmate to get the things off!!! :D

Ouch, expensive stuff this car business...
 indeed just a drop in the ocean, mines gonna finish at about 8k (more likely 10k) when it's completed.. much respect due for those guys who are so dedicated

Ouch, expensive stuff this car business...
Bang, there goes another £800 at the Z centre!! :D Big thanks to Luke for his expert help and advice, he really does know his stuff and doesnt mind talking you through all the options on the phone. Didnt realise how fast my budget would dissapear when I started the project! Only had the car three weeks and already spent nearly as much as I paid for it!!!!! (service, cambelt, air filter, trim kit, disks and pads, stainless brake hoses, '99 spec front bumber, new trim bits the list goes on and) Whats the most anybody else has spent on thier cars for mods / body kits etc? Is there a current "fat wallet" record holder?

Whats right with your zed?
'90 Auto TT, it's a dream, completly stock apart from a blitz filter and some "performance" pads and disks, perfect starter, sounds amazing, fast as fook, very responsive auto box, really comfortable and pretty quiet on the motorway, cruise control is great fun, targa tops are ace in the sun (weekend was great, think I'm going to get a bald spot from having the roof off on the m-way though...) standard brakes do a stunning job of stopping, great handling, lovely dash controls (I love my space ship style console around the wheel :D) Absolutely stunning car!! It's a crime they are so cheap to be honest! Neighbour has a '95 GTO with all the fancy bits and pieces they come with (traction control, adjustable suspension, six speed box 4 wheel drive etc) and I'd rather have my 300, it cant hold a candle to the clean lines of the zed, plus IMHO it sounds rubbish!! Then of course there is the support you get from a community like this!!! loads of really friendly and knowledgeable people always ready to lend a hand. Parts seem readily available from specialists and not that pricey for such a nice car. Worst thing about the car? well it's a bit thirsty (but what high performance car isn't) and my ariel sounds like the car is farting whenever it retracts, to quote my 4yr old, the car made a stink!

Illuminated badges???
Hmmm maybe I'll give it a miss then... getting pulled is not the highlight of my day especially as I regularly have a few k's of coke in the boot :D (JOKE) I think I'll give it a miss...

Illuminated badges???

Illuminated badges???
Anybody got any idea if the illuminated front badges and rear panels are legal to use when driving around? Fancied getting some but as I dont do much hanging around the MC D's car park with the saxo crew I prob wont bother if I'm going to get pulled by the fuzz for having them on...

Bayside blue, paint code
Found it!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! For the record the paint code is TV2 :D (btw thanks markyb cant wait to get it back, it's gonna be the nuts, decided to have a '99 spec front bumber while it's there) All I gotta do now is decide whether to have the standard wheels restored or get some new 17 or 18" wheels... hmmmm decisions decisions.
-
most stupid question....?
Had the "do the turbos work at the same time or separatly?" conversation with my brother and a mate last night actually!!! :D I put them right on it!!
-
Bayside blue, paint code
Anybody know the nissan paint code for Bayside Blue? Wanted to make double sure that the bodyshop get the right colour!!

My new GTR
Cracking car! Much respect is due!! would love one myself (next year maybe, but I'll never ditch the Z I love it to bits!!) Although never been much of a fan of the skyline interior though, much prefer the big sweeping dash in the Z and the space shuttle control pods around the steering wheel!! :D such a big kid I know.....

Seeking No Longer
I'd have hammered the old boy down the 3.5k but then I'm a b@stard!! :D sounds like a good buy! Planning any mods?
-
Poor poor poor poor poor Z
at first glance I thought it had been dragged out of a lake, looks like mud and weeds all over it!!! you know that golf ad with all the badly modified golfs (flames down the side etc.) with the little tear coming out of the headlight? I think I can see the poor thing welling up, it's gonna cry.....
-
Arrrgh, Cant make my mind up!!!
Body kit or not.... jeez... Cars going to the bodyshop next friday so I have to make my mind up pronto... I was planning on complete respray and bits of body work just to make it look as good as new. Now after looking at the zcentre site I really like a couple of the front bumbers, if I slap a '99 spec one or the scarab will the car look a bit stupid without sideskirts etc??? Not really very good with car styling and I'm worried it will end up looking like poo so I thought I'd ask you guys as you all seem to know your stuff (kiss ass)

180mph zx on ebay
One of the ones I checked out before buying mine hadnt had the speedo converted but had white dials installed saying MPH, owner was convinced he we were doing MPH when in fact we were doing KPH, car was such a bag of bolts it kinda felt like it! (noisy, rattling etc) I didnt have the heart to tell him...... just walked away! :D
