Hey I live in basingstoke and im sure I dont have 6! (nor does the rug rat, you met me and him at z-tech the other week, you were concerned about him dropping stuff in your engine! :D ) where abouts in basingstoke have you moved to? lovely chineham in the toxic cloud of fallout from the incinerator? popley with the shotgun totin' vigilantes? was it black dam where the nut job hacked up his mate?? (none of this is made up by the way!) You may even run into local celebrities like Doctor hillary jones, I'm moving to coast next summer!!!

Autoglass
Christ they know how to charge for repairing stone chips!!! 60 odd sheets for the first chip and 17 each after that, jeezus. cheaper than a new screen though, it had better bloody last!!! Liked their website though... made me chuckle briefly! http://www.autoglass.co.uk/repair/crash.html

exhaust idea can i do it ?
would be bloody noisy!!! if you have a powerflow place near you i'm sure they can make one for a good price.

Spluttering Tt
possibly dodgy coil pack connectors or more likely ptu (or connectors on the PTU). the de-mister thing is probably a bit of a red herring, increased load on the electrics will make the revs go up a little. (or if its the aircon you're talking about same thing applies) good links to resources on 300zx.org.uk about the PTU, take the connectors off and remove all the crud off them with electrical contact cleaner. then make sure they are back on properly and give it a go. if that fails it may be worth having a go with a new PTU.

Mozilla Firefox Browser
Read a bit in the press about this lately so I decided to give it a try, been using it all morning and it seems really bloody good! might be my imagination but it seems faster than internet explorer. also lacking the myriad of security vulnerabilities in IE!! give it a try if you;re that way inclined!! :D

Boost / fuel/air / temp display meter
looks like a nice bit of kit, im already trying to work out the best place to fit it!! :D any feedback from anybody as to if this should do a good job (and would it really be a good replacement for separate boost/temp guages??)

Supra vs 300zx
Yeah what is it with jap cars and thier wacky interiors?!?! my old silvia was bright ORANGE! !?!?!?!?!?!?!?
-
Dull Dash - fixed
took my side cluster things apart yesterday and they had the same blue stuff one them, I pulled it all off as it was stopping any light getting through.. maybe its a "feature" on some jap cars?!?!!

Interior Lights
had a long play yesterday, seems like it was ropey connections and a couple of duff bulbs. The "conversion" that had been done was rubbish the little blue rubber caps blocked nearly all the light from the bulbs that I could get to work. I have ordered a whole load of LED bits and bobs and will get soldering this weekend! I'll let you know how it goes!! :D One bulb that will be a bitch to change (I may not bother) is the one which sits in the side of the wiper controls, its really odd, kind of stuck on the end of a rubber stalk!!!

Too low ?
my old reg was g490 atr 16 cars between ours out of the docks at southampton by any chance or does it not work like that? ;)

Interior Lights
Got a bit of an odd one, my main interior light refuses to work and (after seeing smithys blue conversion) I have realised that my control clusters either side of the steering wheel dont light up either (never have) and also the auto gear numbers which used to work.checked fuses and they are all good (clock and map lights still work and thats on the same fuse as I remember). pulled a couple of the bulbs from the cluster and they are there and intact (may have had a blue conversion done as they have funny little blue rubber covers on them?!?!?!?) Did a search and other than checking the fuse couldnt find anything that may be the cause. its a '90 tt auto, if that makes any difference! Any ideas? cheers

the 99 spec bumpers from z centre are genuine OEM parts (at least they should be!), shouldnt have any probs with them at all.

StarWars Episode III trailer....
just been to see the incredibles with the rug rat, (which is not that good to be honest) saw the new starwars trailer. looks the *****cks. lucas has been busy screwing up the original three films and making one dire and one barely passable prequel but fingers crossed he may be about to redeem himself with this one, was cool they used footage from all five films in the trailer and loads of "old" obi wan (alec guiness). Cant wait till may next year!

How much car have you written off?
renault 19 16v 5 grand VW passat TD 6 grand nissan silvia 1 grand and I think thats it! bloody irresponsible little tyke I was, much more sensible now. the passat was only a couple of years ago, wasnt really my fault, bit of a flood didnt look too deep, turned out to be about 2 foot deep, oops. apparently diesels dont much like being filled with water....

Why spend 100k on a car, when a Z gets more attention.
random mummy at nippers school asked what the car was and how much they cost, she was getting herself a 40th b'day pressie. to be honest, when I dropped my mate at the porka garage to pick up his gay boy boxster my car looked the nuts compared to some of the cars there, especially the bloody cayenne!!! although the porkas do all have fooking wicked looking brakes...

The Police what is your view on them?
Actually the money is pretty good! :D varies from force to force but 22k ish starting salary as a probationer is pretty good, overtime is readily available for those that want it and pays well too! The missus seems to think she'll be on 35+ in 2 years, (doing some extra exams and stuff) hell of a step up from a civil servant earning 12k so she's happy!! (so am I more "disposable" cash between us for booze and zeds!!)

Kids views of a 300/jap cars
yeah all the little toe rags at my sons school are always going "nice car mate" and "what is it?" one had a pretty good guess thinking it was a skyline, better than an MR2!! :D

Damn Safety boost!!!
edit... ya beat me to it ryan!! listen to baggins he knows best!! :D visual checks on the bigger TB and IC pipes is a good place to start, may even be able to hear them sucking on tickover if its a big enough leak, next step is to whip off your maf and slap a boost leak finding thingy (like a big plug with a tyre valve in the middle of it) into the hole. (lots of people on here have them, may be able to borrow one) then connect up to a compressor (on a low pressure) and listen carefully for the leak!! alternatively book it in with baggins at z-tech and he'll fix it im sure! :)
