Stock Fuel guage sender range... (resistance)
Hi Does anyone know the [electrical resistance] range of the stock fuel [tank] sender unit - is it/should it be anywhere near 240 ohms empty/33 ohms full?? :surrender: If anyone has a good one on there bench I would much appreciate a quick test to confirm. Cheers guys.:tongue_smilie:

turbo removal
Hi, At my last MOT they removed the slam panel to access the VIN plate (fair enough my mistake) - but they kindly re-located it for me by Gorilla Gluing it back on to said chrome slam panel in a position of there choice - muppets!

Injector Connectors - Polarity??
... This may not be the case for the stock side feed injectors of course...
-
Injector Connectors - Polarity??
I have been told by the manufacturer (RC Engineering) of my top feed injectors that polarity is not important. There is nothing but a coil inside conventional electromagnetic injectors. Apparently they have done extensive magnetic testing and there is a small difference in the shape of the first pulse when you reverse polarity and this is due to hysterisis. Any trace of this is gone by the 3rd pulse so it is insignificant. There is a significant back EMF when the magnetic field collapses but this is absorbed by either an RC or (more commonly) zener circuit in the ECU. The breakdown voltage of the insulation is typically more than an order of magnitude higher than the back EMF voltage. I am told that if polarity is marked then the mark allows a technician to match the terminal polarity to the terminal of the harness.. just helpful for diagnostics.

Injector Connectors - Polarity??
Hi, When extending the injector wires is there any polarity to observe? I mean - does it matter if they are possibly reversed? :euro: And same question regarding the coil connections please? Cheers in advance.

Carbon Plenum Caps
Hi matey - I have a custom high level fuel rail - so the throttle cable cover does not fit anymore. There are some (small) carbon fibre mounting blocks holding the rail in place, and I was trying to add something to enhance the look, but I think I drowned it. I don't support/like the whole carbon thing either - but I like the less is more styling where small quality carbon parts enhance the overal look. I think I just over-cooked it. Appreciate your comments. Keep em coming ;-)

Carbon Fibre in the Engine Bay Help & Advice needed...
DOH! There see - that's the rub - I have fantastic taste!! But you all have been great, and a different POV is what I was looking for. I had been inspired by some beautiful engine covers that I seen at a US/Corvette show down South at Easter, and I came away thinking I could do better on my Zed but... ...Anyway - I'm better now and promise to snap out of it and focus on the finish line and not the cleavage of the gal holding the flag!:helpsmilie: You can mail me Jaffa at andy.gp@gmx.com (small print) I'm not a fabricator, I'm not interested in making anything for anybody else, and you can't afford the time even if I did. But always happy to chat/help a fellow zedder

Carbon Fibre in the Engine Bay Help & Advice needed...
Carbon fibre + High temp Epoxy - it wont melt and I cant imagine its going to contribute to the heat. I have a vented bonnet anyway so not as bad as stock. But the current concensus is it sucks - so it will be going back to that big box of prototype dross in the corner oif my studio :hang:
