  1. Plenum is already half polished, I just get these creative 'periods' that I need to suppress obviously ;-)
  2. No bonnet as such - it's a one piece [wide] front clip on actuators ;-) Nothing is standard anymore lol
  3. err yeah thanks - April 1st was a couple of weeks ago - but good try. ;-) Trying to avoid death by carbon - hence the question of balance.
  4. DOH! Beat me to it PB ;-)
  5. OK understand - but if it falls into the 'non-refundable deposit' part of the deal - you have no issues - it will be fine.
  6. OK - but - if you don't mind me saying - why would you (keep £200.00 deposit)? I think I would have taken 50.00 out for the 'messing about' factor and given the rest back to him and sent him on his way happy - but that's just me. Did it get hostile matey?
  7. Firstly - are you planning on sticking with the wife or trading her in at some point ;-)) THAT would have a major impact on the amount of investment. ;-) Seriously - we need to know more about the person, how she drives, if she likes quality over cool, size over content? Does she drift or just go to Tesco's? How many miles a year will she do? Everything point to something German I feel.. ;-))
  8. I think ebay will wash there hands of you and paypal will treat it as an attempt to trade outside of ebay - and walk away! Do you have any written correspondence from this nice person confirming deposit agreement etc?
  9. Hmmm - it's kinda hard - I don't want to cover the polished plenum too much - I could easily make a carbon cover for the whole thing!! But I want to try and get the right look - and I kinda agree - because the placement of the flumes it's all naturally off centre and looks un-pleasing to the eye - needs framing or balancing - let me think about that for a bit ;-)
  10. To be honest the first mould did exactly that - I will see if I have pics, but I did'nt like it and after a lot of frantic sketching I believed this was what I was looking for. I have made a few different styles - I called theses 'BATCAPS' lol for obvious reasons. Cheers for your comments - appreciated.
  11. I do - but no good for me as I have a high level fuel rail taking up the space where the usual throttle cover goes - so whilst being creative thought I would try something a bit different ;-)
  12. Good idea? Bad Idea? Waste of time? Comments and CC appreciated as ever :2guns: These just need wet flatting then clearcoating. Not selling - made for my own amusement. :smartass: FEEDBACK: :taz:

  14. 'BATCAPS' are to hide some of the crap/wires/pipes as I no longer have room for the OEM throttle cover. Also a good place to place some LED lighting ;-) They are pure cf, 3 layers using high temp epoxy and weigh only a few grams each. I am sticking my neck out a bit here as I am sure that if they solicit favourable comment they will appear at a ZEDCENTRAL Fabricator in the Midlands real soon now!!
  15. Hi As you know, have been rebuilding/chroming/polishing everything in the engine bay recently, and now want to balance out the bling with some colour (RED of course) and some carbon fibre. (BTW thanks to Andy/Ant et al for sharing there inspiring builds). I have fabricated my own engine skins (amongst other things :punk:) and they are now 98% final fit; rather than paint these the body colour - I am thinking I may re-make (using the current as a mould) in cf or kevlar. Now as my car will either be RED or BLACK when it's completed, I am more inclined to go for cf as that will go with either nicely so... HELP & ADVICE BIT: Here are a couple of shots of the skins (engine still topless) Should I remake in CF, or maybe add CF inserts or detailing? Also: I have created what I call 'Plenum Caps' in three different styles, and in both kevlar and cf, and here you can see the ones I call 'BATCAPS' in cf. FRONT: BACK: These just need final wet sand and clearcoat. Try and imagine the carbon engine skins, with the red features of the polished plenum/throttle bodies, the cf high level fuel rail brackets and the cf plenum caps and probably cf air guide/headlamp slam panel and custom cf cam belt cover. Here is the plenum/throttle bodies: Here is the custom fuel rail: What do you think? Cool wall:clap: - or total tosh:asshole: idea?
  16. So, can we guess at how efficient this could/would be - and the benefits/drawbacks?
  17. Could just change it for an aftermarket chrome jobby - but you will probably lose the low fluid level indicator - unless you get clever/lucky and the original cap fits inside the new one ;-))
  18. So can anyone throw some light on this setup? :alien: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1368668
  19. Come on Legrath - educate us Pleeeeze!
  20. Really Dan!! I'm surprised to hear that - I have found that Epoxy and the various exotic carbon fabrics have actually come down in price about 10% from what I was paying last year - same suppliers. 2 part foam has gone up a lot though ;-))
  21. ...I can - but I don't soz
  22. done mine - look' good - go for it...
