  1. Cheers mate. The car's still doing the same, stumbling and hunting while idling then cutting out. But the ECU's now reporting 55, i.e. no error. ???
  2. Zed's dead boys and girls. ECU reporting error codes 12 and 53. This is the MAS sensor and the right hand O2 sensor. Car starts, stumbles a bit, then dies. Throttle doesn't appear to do much apart from make it die quicker. Now I have had all the boost stuff off on the right side to fix a water leak. When I put it all back on, car was fine for about 100 miles then died. Car was reporting just an error code 53 at the time so I presumed I'd left a leak in the intake side. I've just had all this off again this morning and put it on again but the problem's still there. And the error code 12 has just appeared as well. Any thoughts? And any MAS sensors out there?
  3. And that, boys and girls, is why opiates are srictly only for emergency medicinal purposes.
  4. Calcium has an atomic mass of 40.08. If I removed all the calcium from my bones and replaced it with hydrogen (atomic mass 1.008), would I be able to run faster?! Also, should I do it naked?
  5. My mate's tool exploded after going with the girl from no. 70.

    *VERY* sideways!
  7. Ooooooh yes it is!

For all its faults I do miss it though. You've never heard or felt anything like it. I put Yokohame treads on the rear and changed the doughnut bushes for something less soggy. This sorted a lot of traction at the rear. It gripped just as good full throttle in first as the Zed did. However, the Lotus's first gear ratio was not much less than second in the Zed. But, yeah, it squealed the tyres everytime you changed up a gear until fourth.

What happened to it? It was a pile of crap that's what happened to it! You think your Zeds are unreliable. Try a Lotus Carlton. In the two years I had it, it was on the road for about six months. Parts are unavailable and, when you can get them, they cost a bomb. A couple of examples: The rear diff cost me £3000. The radiator cost me £1000. The coil pack cost me £2500. Front brake pads were £500 and disks were unimaginable! That's what happened to it! Cost me £25,000 to buy and about the same to fix it over two years. Lotus? Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious!
  10. B*astard of a job?! To fuc4ing right! Ended up taking half the car apart in the end. I've now managed to get the pipe off and I'm going to try to put the new one on tomorrow. Then I'll have to see if I can remember where all the bits went. Thanks for the advice Roy, bought some of those pliers and they worked a treat. By the way, I've seen your photo. Can I borrow some of that excess skin as I appear to have none left on my hands?!

I used to have one. Unbelievably quick mate. Not a chance in a Z.
  12. Got a bad water leak which I'm trying to fix today. It appears to be a pipe from the driver's side turbo. It comes from a vertical metal pipe and bends round to underneath the plenum. I've removed all the extraneous sh1t from around it but I'm still struggling to get at the end underneath the plenum. There's still a pipe in the way stopping me getting to my pipe. It's about an inch in diameter and I'm going to have to shift it first. However, it doesn't appear to want to budge. Anyone any idea what it is, how to get it off, etc? Any help very much appreciated. Cheers Mike
  13. Got pulled on Thursday morning for giving an unmarked police car the finger! He was tootling down the outside lane of a dual carriageway with no cars on the inside and no cars in front. So, better judgement deserted temporarily, I undertook him. He beeped his horn so, obviously, got the finger. He then promptly followed me to work and, when I jumped out of my car and went over to "politely" ask if he had a problem, he identified himself (very sharpish!) as a police officer. He told me he'd been driving in the outside lane 'coz he was expecting me to undertake him! WTF?! He also said that it was an offence under some public order act or something to give people the finger. Anyone know if this is true? He also tried to give me a producer. However I pointed out that the last time I got pulled, the officer told me about the new PNC system that could tell if you had an MOT and insurance. So he grumpily checked that way instead. I also told him I had broken my finger at rugby that weekend and it was stuck in that position. I was simply trying to wave at him 'coz I presumed he knew me as he beeped his horn welcomingly at me!
  14. Martin How much is the paint job? I presume it's cheaper to have it sprayed in the original colour? Thinking of having it done myself so am just curious. Cheers Mike
  15. Definately. Open it up and see what you've got. It doesn't take long at all.
  16. Nigel I'm with Andy on this one. Before I came onto this forum I had a Superchip fitted with bleed valves. This is their standard install. It blew my engine up and I spent several thousand buying a new one from Nissan. If it is a Superchip, lower your boost immediately and don't do anything until you've replaced your chip. Mike
  17. I've just been watching the News and I hear that George Bush is claiming to have visited Belfast, Ireland, to help sort out some feud that's going on. What exactly is George Bush's I.Q.?
  18. Fantastic Gio mate! You've made my year.
  19. Move along now people. Nothing to see here on this thread.
  20. And I just re-read your post and realised that polishing off this crappy Carling that someone brought to my party last week, is making me over sensitive! Apologies mate.
  21. :) Cheers mate. I think everyone hopes some good will come of this. And, to be honest, today I thought that something good WILL come of this. I've always worried how Iraqis would take to "liberation" being enforced upon them. I've worried that it may be the case that "he may be a dickhead but he's our dickhead"! The scenes today made me think that although there's going to be very hard times ahead, the future looks a lot better than I had previously thought.
  22. Toyos mate! Every time. http://www.mytyres.net I've tried everything and they're quite simply the best. Anyone who recommends anything else, ask them if they've had the Toyos on. No one who's had them recommends anything else.
  23. I didn't say the war was right or wrong. I re-read my post and I think I did a remarkable job of staying on the fence! Your quote from my post that you've chosen to use is also impartial. Have I missed the point or are you accusing me of saying something I haven't?
  24. Whatever anyone's opinion of the rights and/or wrongs of this war, today made me feel that at least some good has come out of it. It was heart warming to see that after all the bombing of their city and all the deaths and losses the people must have suffered, they were still glad to see the arrival of the allies. Like Gio, I also have severe problems reconciling the use of war with a means of liberating a people. One seems anathema to the other. However, today showed me that something good came out of this. There are powerful arguments that the end didn't justify the means just as there are powerful arguments that it did. Personally, I'm just glad to see the hope in peoples' eyes that there is a future in Iraq. We can't change what has happened and we need to look to the future. Try not to slate people's views whether they are "pro" or "anti" war. Everyone's entitled to a view and it doesn't make them a tree hugging hippy or a war-mongering barbarian just 'coz they have an opposing view point to yours. It is a sign of true knowledge when you can consider your oponents view point even when it appears utterly absurd to your own beliefs. I've got a baby coming in less than three months and I'd like to bring him into the best world possible.
