  1. Sorry, wrong room. I thought this was Alcoholics Anonymous. I'll try next door. Why are you all wearing women's underwear by the way?
  2. Well he is refereeing a gay sport! For all the heterosexual men out there, the rugby world cup kicks off two weeks today. And we'll all be discussing the heterosexuality of the game tomorrow in the bath.
  3. I noticed how many views Turbo Steve's post had just because it had Mac1 in the title. So I thought I'd try another popular forum member (but this time a much more controversial one) to see if I can beat it.
  4. The two answers are always the same. Simple boolean logic can be applied to this, with the two people being not gates (visitors) or straight through couplings (residents), connected in series. The whole series will either work as a not gate or a straight through coupling and can be resolved down into one simple gate. Therefore, putting data into either end of the chain will give the same result, regardless of what end it is put in at.
  5. I'm thinking of joining this group buy. However, I have my own stupid question! If I've read the documentation correctly, the AVC-R is a single solenoid design. There are two wastegates to control on the Z, done as standard by the two hoses going from the connection after the intercoolers to the wastegates on each turbo. How are these connected with a single solenoid? Do they get joined together somehow or is boost still maintained independently for each charger?
  6. I may well take you up on that mate.
  7. Can you adjust the launch control rev limiter from in the car? And can you do it quickly and easily? In other words, can you lower it to a value much less than the optimum if you want to make a quick get away from the lights without sounding like a tw@t?!
  8. I wouldn't expect anything but the utmost respect as always Mr Gio. But when has a simple question stopped being an excuse to go off on an unrelated rant?! :D But, to answer your question, what use is an auto gearbox anyway?
  9. Agreed. If you have an acceptable use policy, it should be appropriate and it should be adhered to by the moderators. If you make it to harsh, you face having to arbitrate over a large number of posts. If that is the case, you're going to appear to be taking sides when some posts stay and some go. Far better to make the acceptable use policy more appropriate and, therefore, enforceable. Personally I can't see the point of any moderation, even when that muppet with the Lexus thing came to visit. However, I understand that a large number of people won't share that opinion and, therefore, guidelines are necessary.
  10. Well she can't suck it from the passenger seat can she?
  11. Gio's right. The acceptable use policy doesn't allow it. Therefore, is the acceptable use policy appropriate? Seems a bit soft. But you can't blame a moderator for following the policy. You can complain about the policy itself though.
  12. Hey Mac Did you get the size of that other pipe?
  13. Down the boost pipe? How are you going to get that out, even if it eats the socket? I once knew an old woman who swallowed a fly.

That is quite possibly the most disgusting thing I've read today! Well in the last ten minutes at least!
  15. Nice one mate. Appreciated.
  16. Cheers Arthur. May well have that off you. Is it in good nick, etc?
  17. Anyone know what size hoses I need to replace all the vacuum hoses, fuel hoses, etc, in the engine bay?
  18. Anyone bought an after market cooling fan? Mine's looking really tatty where it impacted with the fan shroud and knackered the edges of it. I was going to get an OEM replacement from Courtesy but then remembered seeing someone with a shiny metal one on here. Is it worth getting a pretty one?! And, if so, does anyone know where to get them. I've done a search on here and nothing obvious came up. Cheers
  19. Not that I know much but aren't they the wrong way round? They're going to let air in not out.
  20. Is there a second prize?
  21. The reason I ask is that I replaced my AFM recently. Don't forget, the AFM is independent of engine RPM, just the quantity of air flowing through it. So a medium throttle pressure at high RPM should have a similar air flow to a heavy throttle at low RPM. Ignition problems that manifest themselves in this way also tend to ease with a lighter throttle. Now I'm not 100% sure about the following but AFAIK... It's not so much the distance the spark has to travel but what it has to travel through. A large amount of compressed air is more difficult to traverse. When I've had this problem in the past, it's turned out to be a boost leak. With the engine wanting large volumes of air at high RPM, it exagerates leaks under full throttle and also leaks under closed throttle. You get an awful mixture with each. If you balance the boost at the middle of the guage, the boost leak effects should go away if this is the cause. All IMHO as always but I hope something may help.
  22. What's it like at high rpm without the throttle floored? If you accelerate gently is it smooth?
  23. Are you going to grow a beard when you're older? :D
