Do the photo at the bottom of your post thing work on the new site? If so do we have to set it up from scratch?

New Website - Thoughts and Comments
In the new activity / unread content, every new post is listed individually rather than just listing topics with multiple new posts as one item Another forum I use started doing this a year or so ago and I really don't like it. If a topic has had lots of posts and it's a topic your not interested in then it's a lot to scroll through, and if you are interested then you have to find the first reply somewhere down the list Don't suppose it's possible to choose view style?

Hello from The Netherlands!
In case you misssed it, i started a convertible tech thread recently ( which i am slowly adding to whn i get time) which you may find useful Feel free to add anything you discover that is unique to the convertible model https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?190899-300zx-convertible-(-vert-)-tech-guide

Hello from The Netherlands!
Gross vehicle weight is usually the maximum allowed weight when full, not the actual weight Somewhere on the forum is the weights of all the varients I seem to remember the vert is the heaviest of all the NA models

What did you do to your zed today?
Fitted new number plates front and rear to the vert. The front was looking tatty and the rear has always anoyed me as it was the wong size Painted the front blate bracket whilst i was at it Broke the plastic bolts taking them out, so bought some new ones from halfords which were supposedly m6, but they were more like m6.5. Managed to retap the rear ones to m6, but ended up stripping the white ones so used metal bolts on the front plate

My daughter calls it Toothless the Dragon: My ‘95 TT Z
Can you do a video of it before you put it in the car, walking round it in a circle, so we can show it on the screens at nec rotating (idealy against a plain backdrop)

part 7 - wind deflector On the black plastic area of the roof storage bay lid, there is a flip up wind deflector, this is released from a lever just underneath the lid. It is just pusded back down to put it away Be careful when opening and closing the roof that you have opened the roof storage bay lid fully, otherwise it is possible to smash the release lever when swinging the back end of the roof down into the storage bay

part 6. roof storage bay lid handles On the top of the roof storage bay lid are two plastic handles. These are often broken or missing completely. These are still available from the usual places ( ie CZP)

part 5. probably something about the lack of heated windscreen / heated mirrors / etc Having a plastic rear window, the vert does not have a heated rear window. On the base model the heated rear window switch is blank Some models have heated wing mirrors, and in this case the switch will have a picture of a heated wing mirror

part 4. radio aerial all 300zx came with a diversity radio receiver basically there are 2 aerials and the receiver chooses the one with the best signal aerial one is the telescopic rod on the rear corner aerial two on all other models is built into the rear window in the vert aerial two is built into the front windscreen. its the wire you can see round the edge and up the centre i believe that this is the only reason the vert windscreen has a different part number, so possibly if you need a new one and the vert one is nla then one from another model should fit ( but ive never had to try)

detailing everything different and unique about the convertible, soft top, vert part 0. General the vert was not available in the uk it was made in japan from 1992 to 1996 ( i think - feel free to corect me) it only came as an NA - no twin turbo model (although at least 3 in the uk have had a twin turbo conversion) the vast majority came as automatics with very few factory made manuals part 1. the boot lid unlike all other models of the 300zx the vert boot can only be opened with a key obviously it has the key lock in the usual place in the rear panel, but it doesn't have the release lever down the side of the drivers seat like other models instead the boot release and fuel filler cover release are in the center arm rest storage thingy the boot release is operated by a solenoid (located behind the boot trim at the back of the boot (ie behind rear light center panel) and is triggered electrically from the switch marked "push" the push switch can be locked out using the master key in the keyhole in the middle of the switch. the valet key will not work here (so when you give the valet key to the parking attendant they cant steel your luggage from the boot) i always park my own car so i leave this lock in the unlocked position further to this you also need the ignition key turned to power the solenoid circuits the boot lid and the roof storage compartment lid (which is also solenoid operated) are interlocked so only one can be opened at a time (more on this later) so if you still cant release the boot, check the roof storage lid is latched properly

Fuses for convertible - what are these?
i cant think where you would have rear speakers, ive done mine by removing the parcel shelf and replacing it with a slightly higher one with speakers set in it to remove the trim you want, pop out the trim to either side of the parcel shelf, this reveals 4 bolts holding down the parcel shelf. then its just the self tappers under plastic flip covers down the sides of that centre trim

Fuses for convertible - what are these?
I wonder if they used the rear wiper fuse / feed for the boot lock solenoids ??? Back to the origonal question, i would run a new fused feed from the battery in 6mm2 cable as nothing in the wiring loom is going to have fat wires and voltage drop is a problem at 12v and high current demand in thin cables
