we could aim to have visited every other region by the end of the year :)
  5. i'm going, think it will probably be friday, would like to convoy (but havn't had time to work out if there is enough going on on friday to make it worth it) if i don't go on friday i will prob end called into work instead (till about 6am sat) so wont want to do an early start on saturday, which is why i want to go friday really
  6. well, as as been said, it's a large area and your unlikely to see me at a meet in Southend or north of the top of the M25. I went on the last 2 box hill to brighton runs which were excellent and i went to the christmas meet at the carvery and am happy to go to any meets in the south half of the south east region as long as i don't have to go to work instead also the SC meet that hapened at the end of last year in the SE area was well attended by people living in that part of the SE rather than actual SC people so maybe sending them PMs about the next gashopper meet? i have to say i either didn't see the post about the new year meet or got the grasshopper and dick turpin confused. I do try and look at the forum every day but honestly didn't click that it was on or i would have been there maybe PMing members about meets is a possibilaty? also maybe making the location a bit more obvious either in the title or for someone glancing at the post?
  7. the auto was fine, but it wasn't what i wanted, i wanted to drive a sports car, not be driven by an auto. and then the auto box broke so i got a manual lol yes it was his, lovely example of a manual vert
  8. i think the boot is much more usefull on my vert as it is deeper and more boot shape i spent ages looking for a manual one, ended up buying an auto and getting it converted, if they did make them in manual then there were not many
  9. I will be there, but how long for depends on how work goes the day before

how about we all go to the virginia water meet that's beeing arranged? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106490 big car park, nice lake to walk round and a beefeater style pub/resturant
  11. has it worked then stopped or never worked? not traveling fast enough? (imports have higher minimum speed for cruise iirc) switch on clutch pedal or brake pedal depressed?
  12. finding tyres for stock uk rear wheels will limit your choice of tyres considerably as it is not a common size anymore and may well rule out many of the suggestions of good tyres. from the tyres suggested a few years ago , the only ones i could find were Toyo Proxes , i've had no problems with them

i'll have a manual swb tt please
  14. more like parcelnotachanceinhell2go 4 days in arow they have failed to collect one of my 2 parcels and counting, they collected the other parcel on the second day, they had to move the first parcel out of the way to get to it. meant 2 use interparcel but couldent remember their name and was in a hurry used parcel2go a couple of years ago and they collected 2 parcels on the third attempt, got the stickers swaped over and sent them both to the wrong person. denied it totaly even after i sent them photos of their labels stuck next to my adress label. ended up driving to collect both parcells and swap them over
  15. well when it leaves the speedo it is 12v on one pin and when it arrives at the alternator it is 2 wires in a 2 pin plug, was asuming the other wire was ground, but wasn't sure as the alternator has a big fat ground connection
  16. well. i've looked at the speedo again, it apears i was slightly wrong, the speedo takes a 12v feed through the lamp and off to the alternator. so why does it arrive at the alternator on a 2 pin plug? where does it go on the way?
  17. a boost starter only starts the car , it doesnt charge a flat battery. once started the alternator will charge the battery to some extent but only if there is not to much else using the battery. driving around with your lights / heating / stereo / back window demist switched on will not give it a chance to charge properly. as the battery runs out , it's voltage drops and things dim. asuming your alternator is working i would try giving the battery a good charge and see if that helps. or measuring the battery voltage before starting, whilst running and with headlights on
  18. my alternator is not charging the battery (i've checked the voltage, no increase when car running, voltage drops when turn on lights, heating etc) the battery light does not light up when you turn the key to the ign position i know that the alternator will not work unless the battery light is ok so i have checked both the bulb, lampholder and tracks on the speedo and all works fine. i've checked thatthe 2 pin plug is corectly pluged in to thge alternator, the belt is tight and the fat wire is bolted on firmly i,ve checked the 10A engine fuse in the engine bay fuse box (although i think that gives the battery light on when it shouldnt be fault) i'm asuming that the circuit runs from ign to the alternator 2 pin plug and back out to the battery lamp where it grounds on the speedo pcb?? are there any other fuses or plugs involved? would a blown alternator stop the battery light coming on - i'm guessing a blown exciter diode might ? is there anything else to check before i yank out the alternator and stick a new one in
  19. or get one of these? http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?sku=IN0487467
  20. yup, took me all of about 5 seconds before i paid up and seeing as no one else did..... *hug*
  21. my understanding was that the change to 32 bit was purely because 16 bit kit was not available to nissan anymore, i'm unaware of any advantage or "upgrade" of the 32 bit. i have recently had a series 1 ecu fitted in my series 4 car as the 32 bit ecu would not talk to the consult. the car is running fine now and doesn't seem to be lacking any features just my understanding , no hard facts or proof
