whining related to engine speed sounds like lack of supresion buzzing and especially crackling sound like it could be a loose connection somewhere i get mild engine whine through one of mine, improved it a bit by disconecting the neon built into the sub. i get very bad high pitched buzzing from the light up pannels in my door sills what you could try is temporarily attaching a jump lead or other fat wire direct from your battery to the amp ground wire where it bolts to the chassis to see if it improves anything only other idea might be alternator strugling or diode pack starting to fail, but i think you said you have a powercap so maybe not, i'll stop wafling now

seem to remember there is no ground cable in the wiring loom to the stereo, so if they just pluged in adapter cables it may not ground the head unit. stock was grounded with a wire from a bolt in the back of the headunit to a lug on the car. worth checking the grounding on the amps are still tight, are they grounded to the chasis or back to the battery? are all the speakers run of external amps or are some off the head unit? do the noises come through all the speakers or only some? have you got any neon or electroluminescant bling fitted? possibly check the cable from the head unit to the amps to switch them on isnt a tad loose????

i think, from my memory of a chat with Andy, there are 3 options: do nothing conect it to ground do it properly (but most people dont bother) think it involves connecting to one of the pins of the ecu it's something to do with changing the idle revs when your in nuetral hopefully someone more technical will be along soon :)

wasn't the vvt dropped in 1995, so your actually saying don't buy a post '95 car ? by drastically reduced climate contol, what was reduced? is it teh manual one like on the verts? the thin black antena wire is a second antena (located in the rear windsceen) the stock radios used both antenas and picked the strongest signal. so just ignore it

i thought the handbrake connection was for diagnostics and the suspention was altered by the ecu depending on speed etc otherwise it is fairly pointles: hey lets put it in sport mode and burn up our brakes!

there is a relay in the engine bay fuse box , more likely to be the relay

the stock stereos had an ariel plug with 2 pins, 2 wires went into it (one from the rear windscreen (front screen on a vert) and one from the electric ariel) the stereo had a diversity reciever which chose the strongest reception between the two. when your aftermarket stereo was fitted, either an adapter was used to go from the 2 pin connector to the standard ariel conector or the electric ariel wire was cut off and a new plug fitted. either way there should be 2 bits of ariel cable behind the stereo, i think the window one is slightly thinner than the electric ariel one

i think there are 2 versions of conzult, 1 is only Z32 and the othe does other nissans also i dont think conzult works on newer cars but i could be wrong on that
