  1. ah yes, read the whole post twice and couldnt see it for looking
  2. i have a copy of the word document explaining the full mod using an extra relay, no idea how to post it tho.........
  3. dim-dip is meant to be that your dipped headlights come on dim when you turn the side lights on, this would be bad for HIDs, however i've never seen it on a ZED and my '91 UK spec didn't come with it perhaps it was only on the latter model UK cars????
  4. the problem i experienced was not that the power steering was lighter than it should be. the problem was that at low speeds ie under 20km/h the speedo didnt work at all and therefore the power steering defaulted to its heaviest just when i wanted it at its lightest this was with the converter the car had when i got it and with a cheap ebay one. not tried a zcentre one although i'm advised it will be okay currently running without a converter and speedo and steering are working fine there is a thought that there may be a dry joint in the soldering on my speedo and at low speeds the cheep converter doesnt produce enough current to overcome the dry joint

it's all about risk managment the risk assesment showed a possible hazzard of death by drowning if the car filled up with water, so as a control procedure i trained myself to be competant to open the windows thus reducing theh risk of drowning to an acceptable level

was great to meet everyone, had a great time :) and i won a trophy :) :) big thanks to Kim and Steve for everything and the death by burgers, sorry i wasn't there to say thanks when you and Trish left, had gone in search of lunch i drove home with the roof down all the way :) 3 hours of nice sunny weather and the last 10 minutes in the most torential rainstorm. whoever said if you drive faster in the rain in a vert you wont get wet was lying. both me and the car got home looking like drowned rats
  8. for me, stronger faster fitter is way the best, very difficult to decide between the rest, next best in random order probably: no surrender, stay forgotton, everlastin, human condition
  9. that orange website is so slow its almost unusable, couldn't work out how to comment, just scrolling down the page involved waiting 2 or 3 seconds for it to catch up. played the 3 tracks tho, loved stronger faster fitter, when can we buy the album then
  10. yup, lovely exhaust sound, apparently i'm not allowed one tho :(
  11. i was tring to persuade some friends to go but they all had tickets to wings and wheels at dunsfold as they wanted to see the vulcan, which it turned out was meant to fly at hpom as well but didn't as it was broken
  12. yes, good day, lots to see and do, saw hellraiser on another stand. once it had stopped raining about 10am it was a nice hot day
  13. well here's a photo of the Z club stand at this event today. it picked up a bit a little while latter a dog wandered through the stand, droped a turd, and carried on going (personally i agreed with the dog) i decided not to go on the parade lap of the arena, bit too emabarasing, here's 9 different ferraris, 5 different TVRs , 5 different lotuses and .... 1 Zed
  14. confirmed, all weekend
  15. what time do we need to be there? the web site says something about no car movement after 9.30

  17. i tried double sided tape and it didnt work very well as there is not much surface area on the pod that actually touches the dash big! yes there is an air pipe see http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=110801&highlight=gauge+pod .
  18. 1. yes 2. pink - handbrake, generally connecting this to ground makes the screen work all the time, connecting it to handbrake will only allow it to work when stationary. orange - possibly camera power, possibly connect to reversing lights so the head unit switches to camera input automatically when you reverse 3. some headunits have only 1 switched output which comes on as soon as you turn on the head unit (for antena and amp remote switch) some head units have 2 seperate switched outputs as the antena one only switches on if you are actually listening to radio or have travel watch on
  19. this sounds like quite a project , will be interested to see it well to be honest i fall somewhere between these 2 as to be honest a lot of it is well over my head technically , i've heard a lot about your car in the years i've been here but never seen it and it's always good to see a well looked after zed, will it be at jae? .
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D270230392711%26fvi%3D1&item=270230392711
  21. mine has a small vertical crack next to the stitching on the rear plastic quaterlight , caused probably by the way it folds the roof. to be honest its the least of my concerns, just avoid aiming the hose straight at it when you wash it. mine leaks where the roof meets theh window (drips onto my arm) and through the stitching between the top and back off the roof where it sits on the roof bar i have been looking at replacement roofs on ebay from america, work out about £200 delivered. just woried they may be cheeper quality than stock
