Partial rebuild time
First thing is first, how is your engines compression and oil pressure? TBH doing the heads with the engine is situ is a PITA, everything is much much easier. Renting a engine hoist isnt too pricey, so id personally whip the engine out. Its also good for learning more about the VG engine when you can actually see the whole engine when you working on it

New Toy
Ditto, i hate doing valve shims, never mind trying to work on the duke, every single fricking nut bolt or screw needs a ducati special tool! I suppose its all apart of the "exclusivity"

New Toy
Deffo marco, im still a track day virgin on the bike, so i dont think ill be taking an ultra rare duke on one (and somehow i think its a touch loud for anywhere with noise limits :D) I ride round your way all the time down the a32,a272 and the West Meon Hut road.

Expect a £500 quid bill if you go to a main dealer mate, mines well overdue it 36000 mile service, valve shims are getting a bit rattly and its down low end torque, so i think the carbs need re balancing, the joys of dyno jetting hey!

Good lad. A blade owner as well. This is my 97 RRV. This has still got to be one of the best bikes ive ever ridden, its effortless and raw at the same time. It looks a bit dated now, but i love it to pieces

New Toy
4 years ago, after doing alot of MX when i was younger, i started my road biking life, and my first road bike was a ducati 750 monster, then after 2 years came my current FireBlade and i sold the monnie, Ive now partially headed back to the italian darkside, i still have my blade, but i have now added this to the collection. This my friends is a Ducati 998 Matrix Edition. One of ony 150 in the world, and as far as im aware only one of 5 in the country. And its an absolute ****ing animal. I thought my old 750 monnie was torquey, this thing is insane! Now all i gotta do is wait for some nicer weather again! Enjoy............... i know i will :D

Exhaust diameter help
Cheers andy, In an ideal world id probably like to run at a 450rwhp/450lbsft, so tubs etc would come later, infact, ALOT later but if a 2.5 system can handle that then there seems like no point going for the 3 inch. Cheers again

Moto GP
Good race mate, well worth watching, but if your going for a gixxer thou, go for the K6, the new one is horrible to ride and feels cheap and nasty!

Lorenzo Highside save
Yeah, i think it was at Jerez. Edwards did it in qualifying and Hayden did it in the race.

No more japanese
Ideally i would love a Porsche 993 turbo, but on a realistic budget i would have a Porsche 968 CS

Lorenzo Highside save
This is Jorge Lorenzo during the China GP qualifying, If anything deserves a round of applause, this does, especially considering he had a broken foot and a badly sprained ankle Id be needing a 4 pack of andrex after that!!!

Exhaust diameter help
Guys, Ive decided on the exhaust im going to get, but im unsure of the following Should i go for 2.5 inch diameter pipes or the 3 inch diameter? (talking about the actual pipe sections as opposed to the tail pipes) Obviously im going to have to go for the 3 inch de cats with suitable downpipes, but is there such a thing as having too little back pressure in the system? This is the rough engine spec i intend to be running to match the exhaust: Z1 side mounts Nismo 555's (for a '95 car which i think are running 610cc's) JD ecu K&N intake and probably Profec boost controller at around 15-16 psi mark aquamist water injection And prob an uprated fuel pressure regulator Now im taking a stab in the dark at these should make the engine run over 380fwhp and 350 lbs/ft (guessing from how steve 300zx '96 running 406fwhp) Now with the rough guess in figures, would i be getting anywhere near the maximum flow capacity of a 2.5 inch system, or would a 3 inch system be worth investing in? Over to you... Nick
