Camber and toe
I can't remember if the zed has castor adjustment aswell, if so, numbers? For any track specialists, I'm running adjustable front control arms and tie rods. Meistersinger R coil overs all round and adjustable rear control arms. Tyre sizes are 255/35/18 up front and 295/30/18 at the rear

HICAS not entering diagnostic mode
Yes please chap, gotta get the car road legal first, needs 4 new discs rear shoes and a new hid kit, and that's even before I send it to Jimmer for a forged build. I'll give u a shout when it's taxed and test. Want to run a diagnostics on the hicas before I spend money on the engine, dont want any nasty surprises down the road. Cheers guys

HICAS not entering diagnostic mode
I take it the neutral switch is there to prevent it from starting in gear?

HICAS not entering diagnostic mode
Thanks jim, i take it a conzult check would bring up a neutral switch fault? Could it also be a steering sensor in the steering boss? Im still on a stock steering wheel, so its never been off.

HICAS not entering diagnostic mode
Guys, Having a wee issue with my hicas. My car runs the later fully electronic system. I have tried to enter the diagnostic mode for the hicas (turn engine on turn steering wheel left and right 5 times and press brake pedal 5 times) and no matter how many times i try, it will not enter the HICAS mode. A this point the hicas light should come on, and turning the steering wheel activates the hicas whilst stationary. (the hicas light will not come on, in order for me to continue into the next part of the diagnostic where it does the self check) Has any one else had issues getting into the hicas diagnostic. I managed it ok on my first zed, but not this one. Something else of note, which may or may not indicate a problem. When i turn the ignition to stage 1 (all the dash lights come on) my HICAS light stays on (unlike the ABS light that goes off after a few seconds). It turns off as soon as i start the engine, and has never come on whilst driving the car. Does everyone elses do this, or does the HICAS light do off at the same time as the ABS light? Oh, and not meaning to sound rude, but comments of "remove the hicas" arnt welcome..... i for one actually like it! Many thanks Nick

Rob, Take your bolts to AHC in camberley. They can get hold of ANY nut and bolt you can think of. Im sure they can produce a set with shallower heads- Heavy steering
The HICAS diagnostic will show up a code for the speed sensor (aswell as the bits youve removed)- Heavy steering
Firstly, have you got enough fluid in the power steering pump res? Secondly, how is your speedo? Reading ok? Zeds have speed sensitive steering as apart of the HICAS. Run a HICAS Diagnostic and check if you have any codes Procedure: 1. Ignition switch 'off' manual in neutral or A/T in 'P' 2. Start the engine 3. Within 10 seconds after turning the key to 'ON', start the engine, turn steering wheel from left to right 20 degrees from neutral 5 times or more times & pump the brakes 5 times. Then press the brake pedal again to enter the test mode. 4. Turning the steering wheel left or right past 20 degrees from neutral will cause the rear wheels to turn slightly (~1 degree) (1.). 5. Drive the car forward 15 feet under 9mph to enter the full diagnostic mode. 6. The HICAS dash light will flash a code indicating any problems. Long flash is first digit, short flash is 2nd digit. 7. Diagnostic mode is exited when: ignition is turned off, vehicle speed exceeds 9mph, or diagnostic has operated for 5 minutes. HICAS light codes for '90-'93: 1. HICAS solenoid R.H. 2. HICAS solenoid L.H. 3. Cut-off valve 4. Power Steering solenoid 5. Vehicle Speed sensor 6. Steering angle sensor 7. Steering Neutral positon sensor 8. A/T: Parking Brake Sensor M/T: Clutch sensor 9. A/T: Inhibitor sensor M/T: Neutral sensor HICAS light codes for '94-'99: 11. HICAS control unit 12. HICAS motor power supply not present 13. HICAS motor output not present 21. Vehicle speed signal not present 22. Steering angle sensor angle signal not present 23. Steering angle sensor neutral not present 24. Rear main sensor input not present 25. Rear sub sensor input not present 31. Parking brake sensor input not present 32. Inhibitor switch (A/T) or nuetral switch (M/T) input not present 33. Engine speed signal not present- Club talk

just want to say one thing. Slagging you off calling you pirates..... Really...... it that the level of "insult" that you believe to be classed as inter forum bitching? Further more, that is 1 post since the new team took over on the 19th of october, and there has been NO incidents of interforum bitching since the global announcement. If there is going to be a workable relationship between the two forums, then some "insults" are going to require a pinch of salt. Feel free to come and interact with us on the other forum thanks nick- A non bullish apology
Very civil of you alex. well done- FOA Jimmer
Jimmer, ive lost your number again bud, can you drop me a text on my mobile..... time to talk engines!- A subjective view on moderation
I am fully aware this is slightly off topic. However i feel some posts require a response. Granted, initially i did ignore you coz i had a bee in my bonnet. Sorry, but it happens to the best of us. However, I got back on topic and asked some relevant questions, which were met with either "this is silly" or "your causing trouble". Granted i threw in a couple of sarcastic remarks. im a sarcastic person. Doesnt mean im causing trouble. Granted, i havent posted on here for a while..... and? The topic of this thread is one of the reasons i stopped posting. Now the issue is open for discussion, i want to express my opinion. But it appears that my opinion is "trouble making" because i got the arse earlier in the thread. I post a perfectly legitamate opinion and pose a couple of questions, and im still trouble making? And yes, some of my post were again, sarcastic, because it appeared i was being met with the opinion of "you havent posted here for a while so your opinion counts for shit because i think your causing trouble". I may be wrong, but thats how i interpreted the responses. Finally, i was interpreted as prying for an arguement. Whats the difference between an arguement and a heated disussion????- A subjective view on moderation
So your basically saying, because im asking you questions about moderation, your taking it as trouble making because of previous comments ive made in the thread, even though my latest posts are completely relevant to the topic of the thread. Keep on topic al, this has got sweet FA to do with the other club. Dont tell me to get my fact right on the Si issue and then spout shite i had nothing to do with.- A subjective view on moderation
Who's spoiling for a fight???? You post an opinion, i comment.... I was simply asking if you remember being a rapskallion? i must remember to stay on topic...... I think that your comment of "the thread will be closed" is the exact reason why this thread was created in the first place. Moderation. Your basically threatening to close a thread because you dont like the fact someone is repeating their opinion on a certain subject matter. Now the subject matter has changed ever so slightly, the threat of closure is back. Why???- A subjective view on moderation
Yeah i did, it was quieter than here so i thought id be a trouble maker and pop back, come on alan, you must remember what it was like to be a weee rapskallion, rocking the boat and all. - Hubcentric Spacers
