Air Con Removal?? Opinions?
I removed it on my first zed and regretted it. When it gets as muggy as it can do in English summers and then it rains, there was nothing worse than being stuck in the zed in hot muggy rainy weather with no a/c. I can understand doing it for track cars because weight is everything, but on a road GT car a/c is something it should have.... I mean look at James May in that vantage n24 in the alps! Oh and if I wanted to buy a zed for a weekend car (not a track car) I would walk away if it didn't have a/c

Baby seats that fit in a zed
Yeah, the length of the belts are a real issue. The seat I really wanted was the M&P cybex 2, which has no seat belts for the child but a sort of structured cushion infront ( you tube it, very clever and incredibly safe) but even the front zed seat belt isn't long enough Something else you should be aware of is something called buckle crunch. It's basically where the buckle and latch are touching where the seatbelt goes through the seat (again YouTube will best demonstrate) and causes the seat to fail. Oh and yes, you can fit a rear facing seat in the front as long as the airbags are deactivated for the passenger zone. It's not illegal, even if air. If you go on the think road safety website, it's got all the rule for child seats fully explained

Baby seats that fit in a zed
You will really really struggle to find a baby seat that fits PROPERLY in the back of a zed. The depth of shallowness of the seat pretty muh stops any seat to fit properly. I put my little girl in the front in both her maxi cosy rear facing 0-9 month seat and her recaro young sport, push the front seat as far forward as it will go and the misses has enough leg room in the back. I spent ages trying to find a decent quality seat that would fit properly in the back of the zed, and in my head, it doesn't exist. I wouldn't put my head in a cheap motorcycle helmet, and I certainly wouldn't put my nipper in anything other than a completely safe seat

Lost 1st gear last week, back the next day, trouble or not?
Can you remember what fluid youve got in the box?
-
Lost 1st gear last week, back the next day, trouble or not?
Unless youve done 30k miles in two years, id say its probably not fluid related, unless you were driving it very hard and the fluid has over heated.

Lost 1st gear last week, back the next day, trouble or not?
When did you last do a gearbox fluid change chap?

Exhaust?

belts for AMS pulleys?
Its all about reducing unsprung weight. As someone has said, putting lighter pulleys on reduces the amount of effort the engine requires to actually rotate those pulleys. Basically it just makes the engine more efficient. Yes they do need specific belts, you can either get them from AMS directly, or conceptz or z1

Anyone running a Selin twin-MAF setup?
Yeah that sounds cool bud. Ive been given an estimated finish time for the build of mid july, itching to get it back From the research ive done, the Z32 MAF is capable of measuring MORE air than the Q45 and the Mustang Mafs (from what ive found on TT.net and 300zxclub.com)

Braking capabilitys - Zed Vs Merc Vito - A Warning for all!
Thought i would give this old thread a quick bump considering the current wet weather! Having done a few brake upgrades recently and with a bit of reflection on the results, i would have to say that the stock rubber brake lines (no over 20 years old for some) area a deffo must for improving the braking system of the zed. All that effort that is put into the brake pedal, and the amount that the stock 20 year old rubber hosing will flex will put a serious dent in the zeds braking performance Worth a read for those who havent seen this thread before

Bought a few parts for my zed
Total bill came to £4520 including the conversion costs that the bank charge. Customs was, shall i say, cheaper than it should have been thanks to a VERY conservative price declaration on the import slip. Less than £50 yes mate, they came with the piston and rod combo Oh and if anyone would like to know who i used, contact Coz at Concept zed, he was unbeleivebly helpfull and VERY prompt in returning emails. Cant recommend them enough! Thanks for the kind comments guys

Bought a few parts for my zed
Today i shall be mostly feeling like a kid in a candy shop. I dont think ive said "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh" to myself so many times in such a short period of time. I feel it is my duty to share pictures of these parts with you. I shall spare you the tedious stuff like general gaskets, pumps and switches..... So here is the interesting stuff: A general overview of lovelyness; First up is these, Z1 Uprated Side Mount intercoolers: To make the most of these (and the other parts) 2.5 inch bore intercooler piping finished in powdercoated glass black with new couplers and T bolt jubilees. Even at stock boost, these have proven to give 15fwhp, never mind on bigger tubs with more boost: Which will be adapted slightly to fit my HKS SSQV dump valves (already on the car) so new mounting flanges were needed Next up are these Garrett GT525 .54A/R turbos Attached to these turbos will be these AMS Cast manifolds:
