  1. Thats what independant tyre tests are for bud! where, incidently, bridgestone has come on top for the last 3 years for RWD cars.
  2. A fault with the instument panel wouldnt cause the steering to become heavy and stop the 'box changing gear! Is it misfiring? it sounds like its running very rich to me. What are the condition of the spark plugs like? Have you checked to see if they are all sparking? more info please mate! Diagnosing faults online isnt the easiest thing in the world to do, so the more info the better. If you get chance, take a small video of the engine running and post it up, this will aid your chances in someone being able to diagnose any faults Third and finally, welcome to the club Nick
  3. You mean you never christened your zed, shame on you!!! ;)
  4. No wonder your selling!
  5. Completely agree with you mark. you do get what you pay for, and the SO range is the best for any performance RWD car. Personally i got on with the SO3's better due to a better milage. But you NEVER skimp on tyres, you can have the best suspension setup in the world, but when a situation occurs where you need all the grip you can get, and you got shite tyres, it wont be me pulling your zed out the bushes! Oh, and people, dont start going on about that crap of "you can only do 70mph", if thats the case why the fook do you have a zed! you own a performance car FFS! I got 12,000 miles out of a set of SO3's by driving smooooothly, but when i needed them when bambi popped her head out the bushes asking for a speed dating session, my god im glad i had top grade rubber keeping me on the black stuff. Rant over :slap:
  6. I was thinking about the CAS andy, but the only experience ive ever had with a CAS causing running problems was the connector was all greened up, and pretty much used to keep cutting out on me, which is more extreme than this scenario. Stella, i take it youve checked the condition of the connectors on the CAS, TPS and the PCV?
  7. Been thinking about this for a few hours now. This is pretty much my thought process, some of which may be stating the obvious, but i problem solve better when its laid out infront of me. Running rich is a definate. fits the bill to a T Theres nothing to suggest poor compression etc. Spark... Is it getting one. If so is it a strong spark or a pathetic one. If its weak, its either knackered plug, coil or leads (which seem to get overlooked alot in diagnosing spark faults on zeds, even tho there 15 years old) Fuel... Fuel filter probs would tend to cause lean running not rich... maybe not this then. But then you mention doing resets on ecu etc....... Why would this fix it? mmmm Injectors...... Im think im right in thinking that not only can they block so no fuel gets through, to the opposite that they get jammed open dumping fuel into the cylinder. Possible theory - Is that right andy, im not 100%. Ill sleep on it and see what i can come up with Nick
  8. 1200 grade wet and dry, then i use Meguiars Metal Polish. Ill see if i can find a pic of my old wheels, but they were mirror finish, took me about a day to do them.
  9. Look nice. What make are they? I take it the blanked off section is for an external wastegate.
  10. Depends on the offset mate. Do a search, theyre have been loads of threads recently about this subject. Oh and get some wider wheels for the rear, zeds dont suit skinny wheels!
  11. Its just a complete reversal of the old "Selling from abroad payment before you see the car and send it back if you dont like it" scam!
  12. Good old Grass Hopper hey! Must have been an endless flywheel that im thinking of. Fedenza were at the Autosport/PistonHeads show at the weekend and were doing some good show discounts.
  13. Chris, pop down to Road Wheel, Tyre and Exhaust on Kings Road in Fleet. They do re furb at good prices, and from what ive seen the quality is v good. Or try Micheldever Tyres Nr winchester (otherside of basingstoke) who have always been very good. I would be able to do the lips for you, but the paint flaking off the spokes is beyond my capability
  14. I thought they were anodized?
  15. What flywheel is that mike?
  16. Congrats pete, beers are on YOU!
  17. When i get the next zed, im going to get the type 4 front pretty much as soon as i buy the car. So ill let you know how i get on with importing one mark
  18. aaaaaaaaaah! thats the pic ive seen!
  19. Must have been a pic that he had, was sure it was his car tho. I will admit something tho, when i bought the car, the centre section of the console had been cut out before i bought it, probably in japan, and it was a complete mess. So i basically did what i could with what i had and no budget (coz it all went on engine rebuilds!) I did get it to look better, i think id just taken the head out to sort some wiring issues and it didnt sit right when putting back in. I managed to get it sitting further into the console so it looked a bit more flush. But yeah, with a bit of time and fibreglass, i could have finished it quiet nicely. Oh well, maybe on the next one
  20. i offered him a sheep, not bacon!
  21. cheers matey, just sent you a mail
  22. The cost in japan works out as £269, dont know about cost of importing tho
