  1. Well, I went along to Knockhill today but the only Zed I saw was this one, when I arrived it was on the trailer and was later driven away. Is it Jaffa's and if so .....what went wrong?
  2. You've been to Knockhill before ......haven't you? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Of course there will be naked dancing girls :dance::dance::dance:
  3. LOL.....me.....driving the Zed on a track  I'd be off at the first corner, if not before that :blushing: I thought that a couple of the forum guys were participating this weekend and we could maybe support them  Me, on a track.....jeez what a thought - I couldn't afford the petrol to hurtle round the track!
  4. Anybody thinking of going to Knockhill this Sunday (10th)? It's chance to see Zeds tearing around the track :hyper:
  5. Tonight I dropped a 1/4" drive ratchet + small extension, 10mm socket, small extension (again) with socket attached and two timing belt cover screws - all recovered 'tho :innocent:
  6. Aye, your both right - my forearms are all scraped to bits from the fan, the fan cowl and the intercooler tube - lol
  7. In the three and a half years that I've owned my Zed, I've only had to work in the engine bay a couple of times (compression check, IACV and various connectors). Tonight I thought that I'd remove the timing belt cover on the CAS side (to inspect the timing belt).......good gods! how many bolts hold that thing on? I've got skinny arms but even so - there's so many sharp bits of plastic and metal in the way.....and I must have dropped every tool I used onto the engine tray  I know it's probably a trivial job but I've given up for the night, I'll try again tomorrow after work :hammer:
  8. My Zed had only been painted for a couple weeks when a garden hoe slipped off the wall and struck the NS door a glancing blow.... I keep meaning to do something about the mountain bike that is suspended from the garage rafters - hopefully before the inevitable happens.
  9. The driver of the Ferrari should be locked up for life, that was murder.
  10. Ok, at the moment I've got a mongoose quad exit exhaust fitted, no complaints - suits me fine. What are my options regards replacing the existing OEM cats? Decats, sports cats....? I'm looking to up my BHP and want to get the exhaust sorted first (already have an Apexi induction kit fitted). I know the arguments for and against decats (turbo seals leakage against power gain) but my engine seems to be in good nick and well looked after prior to me having the car. Who can supply what product? Japspeed, Powerflow....what's available on the market just now? By the way it's a '93 TT Auto. Cheers - Andy
  11. You could always move up here to Scotland, great water - on tap. :pint:
  12. Thanks guys, is the subframe back in yet Robert?
  13. Well, as per the title, my Zed passed the MOT on Friday with only a couple of small advisories (very slight play in both the NSF steering rod and NSR HICAS joint) - Result :D They had to drive the Zed onto the four poster ramp using blocks, 'cos I'd set the front suspension a wee bit too low  Anyways, I've adjusted the coilovers and it's not so low at the front now, I'll run with this setup for a couple of weeks and let it all bed in then readjust if needed.
  14. 12 and I'm 56 - so quite happy with that.
  15. I've answered my own question, the part is shown seperate on the EPC - I'll get some heat on it tomorrow and then :smash: :smash: :smash:
  16. Ok, I bought and fitted a new front lower ball joint but there is a conical insert on my old ball joint that does not appear on my new ball joint. Is this meant to unscrew from the old ball joint and fit to the new one? To say that I'm confused is an understatement  Pictured - new ball joint (with dust cover removed) fitted to lower arm and old ball joint with tapered inser/spacer. Hopefully somebody knows what's going on - Andy
  17. Nah, I'm sure that it's a doddle :smash::smash::smash: I've dismantled all the NSF suspension, funny how once you've started you've just gotta take the whole lot off :hyper:
  18. Hi Robert, yep - bought a new balljoint from MJP, next day delivery. Great service :D
  19. I've got a bad back as it is, I really don't want a stiffer ride :wheelchair: :) As for the state of that shockie - yes, it's a wee bit corroded isn't it?
  20. Seeing as I was replacing my lower front ball joint and my anti-roll bar drop links, I turned my attention to the front shockies - best to replace before they totally rust away maybe? I can't really justify £500+ for coilovers, so what's a decent replacement for the standard shockies? I have Eibach springs fitted and want to keep them...what are my options? Cheers - Andy
  21. Andy, if you're watching - I'm going over to Robert's for about 11 ish
  22. What time's good for you Robert? (goes to get ovies and wirebrush from garage) :smash:
  23. Sad day when you've got to bring your own biscuits :tt2:
  24. If there's coffee and biccies - I'm sure I could be persuaded
