  1. Not a problem, there's no panic...............yet:D
  2. I tried 1/2" swivels on extensions, off extensions, two joined together - lol.....................I gave up in disgust eventually  I was just getting too frustrated by it all, never mind - I'll try again on Sunday - East Fortune Airshow tomorrow with my 91yr old dad - that should be nice change :) Feel free to bring a box of tools over on Sunday Robert (if you're free), I know where I'll be :hammer::hammer::hammer:
  3. Sorry, forgot the obligatory photograph of the offending bolt.
  4. I thought, time to fit my Japspeed decats, Zed up on axle stands, Mongoose rear system came off ok - good.... Intermediate cats/silencers came off only after three bolts sheared, OS turbo elbow/downpipe/cat came off with minimal effort - great. However, the NS turbo elbow/downpipe/cat is still on the car 'cos I cannot get one **!???** bolt undone :cursing::cursing: The top bolt, nearest the engine, will not budge anymore than the 5mm that I've managed to unscrew it so far :surrender: You can't get purchase on a spanner, once it's on the bolt. I've broken two cheap quarter inch drive short extensions and for the life of me can't figure out what to do next...........................turbo out?? Please can someone enlighten me on what I'm doing wrong, before I put a hammer through the windscreen:smash:
  5. And here I am, complaining of a sore throat and a bad back - puts it all into perspective really. Hope you're on the mend soon.
  6. Gotta go with the folks that like it, classic looks, loads of character, I wouldn't mind having one
  7. Stick with it mate, it took me over a year to get all the welding done on my Zed, I'd never used a MIG welder before but was given a helping hand on how to do it by someone who had been through it all before with his own Zed. By the time that I'd finished ......my welding had definitely improved (mind you - that wouldn't have been too difficult). Make sure that you cut back to clean metal - if you can find any - and don't try to be a perfectionist, as long as it's solid...it'll do :smash:
  8. I had my eye one of the Halford's Industrial toolchests, mentioned it at work and ended up buying this lot from one of our mechanics for £40 :) Saved me a bundle of money and does what it's supposed to do - hold tools, I still like that Halfords Industrial stuff 'tho.

It's not the petrol, they are very, very expensive to buy parts for, too many damn electrics, control units and sensors to go wrong - and they do go wrong. Now, if you can find a good old W202 C class or W124 E class ........
