  1. When doing maintenance for a well known Irish run no frill airline, one of the tertiary beams had been damaged and to cover it up, whoever had done it had filled it with some sort of putty and painted over it ! After working for them I have made sure NO ONE I know flies with them ! Even the repairs that are approved are shocking !
  2. If your trying to trace leaks, fill a large bucket with water and add food colouring until its nice and bright then pour over the car. It allows you to trace the water back to the leak a lot easier.
  3. im pretty sure I just saw a dinosaur run past.......
  4. there is actually no such thing as road tax. Road tax was abolished YEARS ago, roads are paid for with all the normal tax funds ;) Your road fund license is just another way to get money out of us by hoodwinking the common man I agree its a fooking rip off though.
  5. they ruined a cool rare car, TBH with very little work it would be more like an RS200 !
  6. This was over on DW a few months ago. Its VERY expensive and doesn't work as well if you put on top of cars paint.
  7. yeah I have had a couple of twin turbo zeds, still regret selling the last one I had. It was a bloody bargain ! Its like twobrutal in here, friendly and helpful :)
  8. More than likely an inverter tig, and by the looks of it he needs to use smaller rods or not push through the puddle as much. Still not bad welding. I have paid for worse !
  9. Welcome Paul :) Add this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201031614160?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 and this would make a cracking zed ! im about to start making a twin turbo conversion in the next few weeks too :D
  10. Im also a coded tig welder in BS4872 vertical up, and I do a lot of ally work for myself and friends. Ive seen a lot worse welding on stuff for sale. Do you do mig or tig ?
  11. Ive seen welding that looked like it was done by a machine, but didn't have enough penetration and broke very easily. This looks like it was done on a basic Tig machine without pulsing and nowhere near as bad as you are making out. Don't judge how good a weld is by the "stack of dimes" look.
  12. Yup, the 1uzfe from soarers and ls400 etc I have also got a second idler pulley added for more belt wrap. I have done the calculations and it should push between 7-10psi (I worked it out at 10 psi with that size pulley but so many factors can affect it) which should give 380-430 bhp with a proper map.
  13. I made this as I think the 1uzfe needs a power boost and all the kits for sale cost 3k+ This is just a rough draft to get everything positioned, the next one will be 10mm lower ( currently 34mm taller than a standard plenum) and required less welding and the parts will be cut from entire sections rather than pieced together with bits I had sitting :) I also have a ZF gearbox from an e36 m3 / 328i that getting an adapter made to manualise the adapter on the cheap. I already do the z33 box to 1uzfe but the z33 box is hard to get an a bot too expensive.
  14. Look at the name of the car, that's why he wanted the plenum like that I think
  15. He is about 3 streets away from me just now
  16. Spotted in Bellfield in Kilmarnock just round the corner from me. Looked like a very clean Z32 :)
  17. Awesome when this happens. When I broke my v8 soarer I discovered a very rare Mines ecu ! (they were VERY rare to be done on the 1uzfe) Same thing happened the year previous when I broke another soarer, I found another Mines and an ARC SMIC !
  18. If the person rolling the arches is good, there is no visual evidence on the outside arch that it has been done.
  19. thought as much, but to get it to a good standard will take a LOOONG time, hence the price !
  20. 75 quid is a decent price, shipping in the UK for 4 wheels is 35-40 quid.
  21. I sold a tungsten carbide riveting dolly for 400 quid last year, was about 10 inches long by 3 inches square. Thing weighed a ****ing ton ! Tungsten is the densest non precious metal on earth
