Octane boosters are shit, they add virtually nothing to the rating of petrol !

ongoing brake problems..
Have you bled them properly ? Still sounds like air in the system with that much travel, As for the juddering there are various bushes etc which can cause vibrations under braking. Best idea is to get it on a ramp and check it out.

Paid a visit to Jimmer.
So yesterday I took an hour and halfs drive to see Jimmer and have him fix my daily driver. What a waste of time !! The guy is useless and such an arrogant **** !!! :tt2: Only kidding ! Really nice guy, very pleasant to talk to and have an intelligent conversation, even if he did take the piss out of me being a Scotsman !!! ( yeah and you to Noz :whistling:) So after spending a couple hours on Consult and talking to Noz, including head scratching as to WTF was going on he managed to solve a few related problems and diagnose narrow it down to the best possible cause. I will 100 percent be making the journey to have work done in future ( except in the next 2 weeks, m5 closure meant it took 3 hours to get home !) I have visited a few "performance" places before and even fewer have impressd me. Powerzed is one of them and cant recommend him enough, especially after seeing the 1k bhp zed !!!

Welding in Somerset
Im getting bored working down here so anyone in Somerset or surrounding areas needs any welding done gimme a shout ( will only charge for fuel and food :D ) I enjoy welding on cars and need something to keep my mind busy ! I don't have my welding gear down with me just yet, but in 3-4 weeks will be driving home and will pick it up then, or if you have access to one even better ! Just let me know

What would you use?
the metal screw type expanding plugs. Plus when you install them use some sort of binding agent for extra strength.

last time I seen a shell was last year, and it needed a lot of welding and still sold for over 4k. You wont get anything for a grand.

Order from Wiring Specialties
Sometimes things slip through the vat and duty net. I have had it a couple of times but most of the time I have had to pay the tax.

A business question...
Are you able to build some sort of workshop extension to your home ? that would kill 2 birds with one stone.

quick one - ticking noise...
Just because its on the interwebz doesn't make it gospel. speaking from PERSONAL experience doing it on many old cars, turbocharged and not, I have never had any problems, the cars have always run sweet as a nut afterward ( or as sweet as they were before the flush)

quick one - ticking noise...
so rather than flush the crap out you would rather leave it in there ?

yup, cleaned out a few cars with a mixture of diesel and gearbox oil. cleans out the oil system no end. My old Granada cosworth had it done, and after 8k miles the oil was still very golden with only a hint of turning black.
