  1. yes deffo if filter is blocked would cause box to act the prat six months ago i had NO DRIVE and thatw as on a 35k car changed oil cleaned filter, and cured the probelm, not had any hassle since worth trying for the sake of new fluid
  2. still a grey area m8 http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/jamlaw.htm also technically if you flash another motorist to warn them of a speed camera you COULD be done for perverting the course of justice but 2. Obstruction of a police officer in the course of his duty (section 89(2) Police Act 1996). The crucial thing here is that the cop must be acting in the course of his duty. This does not mean everything a cop does. For example if you are told to move and you refuse, you cannot then be obstructing a police officer in the course of his duty if there was no law requiring you to move in the first place make sense of this if you can http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts1996/96016--i.htm as i said earlier i would NOT let a magistrate kangaroo court decide my guilt would they let it go forward to a crown court in front of a jury costing thousands? as SRRAE states to pervert the course of justice there needs to be an offence in the first place, the "garage opener" is installed in the car and automatically jams the signal (the lcd 100) the older one you DO jam it, so maybe theres a case there, its similar to many of us who have cd/dvd writers, when are you breaching copyright? the old chesnut if you own the original you can copy it etc a guy last year produced software to get round software protection, and was aquitted because he only distributed the software, and he wasn't copying this stuff you can fly down the motorway and not display a number plate, get fined no points, the law is an ass, so jammer here i come, until they tell me im gonna get jailed for it or receive a harsher penalty than being caught exceeding the out of date speed limits

  4. having read through all those threads im still not convinced its been proved illegal, and the guy who did go to court deserved it, as he COMPLETLY jammed the signal, thats not the idea of the jammer, it picks up a signal, you slow down and then switch it off and enable them to then get a reading, no provable offence committed, i certainly wouldnt let magistrates decide if i was guilty, mr butcher baker and failed society member sat on that bench aint got a clue, id be heading for the crown court for trial where they would have to charge you under some proper law Perversion of the course of justice takes the form of one of three acts: Fabrication or disposal of evidence Intimidating a witness or juror Threatening a witness or juror can't see any of the above applying?
  5. mines an import and DOESN'T have a drain plug, had to drop the pan to replace fluid
  6. i think the difference in most old jags m8 they sufferered from rattly timing chains, which slick 50 and other oil additives did help to quiten
  7. i think what would make the Target LRC 100 harder to declare illegal is unlike the old jammer YOU OPERATED IT so i suppose the police could say you were interfering with their signal, (id argue their signal is mine when its on my car lol) whereas the new one is "active" all the time and switches itself on and off, also its the same thing that opens your garage door/gates etc so who are they to say im not opening my garage from a mile away lol, re the rear zapping trevz, id hope in that case the road angel would cover me, as its 360% coverage, as it gets slightly expensive to cover your arse with rear jammer as well:( anyway id rather be done for obstruction than instant ban
  8. will post you a cheque tomorrow m8 keep up the good work, and hope the event is successful and raises big money for the kids
  9. addy=address
  10. wont be able to get there sorry m8, but if you pm me your addy id like to drop you a cheque, brilliant charity, deserves support:) or lol if you have an addy you can post here, maybe some others may want to add a couple of quid ;)
  11. i think you'll find its only the police who SAY a jammer is illegal i don't know of anyone being prosecuted YET, and theres no set law to prosecute you under, so they would have to "invent" one or prosecute you under some other law my m8 who fits alarms was fitting a new alarm to the wifes car today and showed me the Target LRC 100 he has just upgraded to, best thing about this is, it automatically jams the signal, whereas the older ones you were given a warning and you had to press a button to jam when it picked up the laser, you slowed down and switch off, all you have to worry about now is slowing down, as it also switches off itself so ive just ordered one, as mentioned before i have got a road angel and swear by it, but you can never have enough protection lol
  12. can't see Clarkson doing jack, if you read his columns he's always advising people against "grey" imports and without the cooperation of the car manufactures he wouldn't have a programme, we saw all this info at our car import auctions a while ago, and basically unless the car was produced AFTER dec 1997 its not going to make a lot of difference, although the cheeky shits now surcharge you £50 if you take the car away to be sva'd, as they "prebook" them into their garage, so approx' £600 approx for them to sva, or do it yourself £180 plus the new £50 fee maths was never my strong point, but i still know what we'll be doing lol and of course if you import a car older than 10 years old ie april 1994, still no sva, so no change there, just register and its on the road:)
  13. try this m8 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=31864&highlight=battery
  14. sat in the bedroom, and noticed on the ctv pointed at the driveway a kid get off his bike walk down the path, and bent down by my wheel so obviously after the chrome dust caps, luckily my alarm remote was next to me, so set of the alarm via the panic button, shit he set of like his arse was on fire, fell over his bike trying to get on lol, camera plain to see on the wall, 6-30pm sun shining, and we live in a close with about 8 houses, he was about 11-12, i'll bet he aint in the top set at school  i was a bit slow off the mark, as i should have gone out me front door, grabbed his bike, and told him to come back for it with his dad, to explain why i had it
  15. sorry m8, your arguement doesnt add up if the police had it pointed at the crest of a hill half a mile away and it was transmitting the gps would pick it up before you got there, that isnt the way the police work, to clock over that distance it would have to be on a tripod, and as you rightly point out, they have to clock your reg, so they can only point at one lane, so you come over a hill doing 130mph in middle lane, theyre pointed at outside lane you would assume? 3 cars in 3 lanes come over the hill all doing 130mph, who is it pointed at? ive always found its always its given me plenty of warning, and the link you've posted ,read the reviews of the gps/radars on that very site;) no system on its own is 100%, but i would rather have it than not anyone driving on the motorway or any road for that matter, and who is not constantly aware of what is or may happen probaly shouldnt be behind the wheel
  16. actually it does m8, now has a Laser Alert module that works by picking up the scatter from quite a long distance away, not sure how it would work if you were the first bugger it was pointed at lol touch wood ive used this in my jag and now the zx and given both some serious clog, and up to now has been a life saver, again as for the europe bit im not sure, so maybe best doing some research before buying, as cybernet states the BEL EURO obviously does do abroad, theres loads of sites that do comparisons, so decide which is best for you btw one thing ive always like about the road angel, as you enter some roads with cameras, a lot of detectors will start warning, the road angel knows what side of the road its on
  17. ive had a few and the best yet is the road angel which i currently use, the bell 550 picks up false alarms ie garage doors security lights unless you take out that band, the road angel, gives no false alarms, and picks up all the fixed/mobile/specs and warns of blackspots not sure about europe, not used it there yet, first 12 months is free then its £49 per year £79 for two or £99 for life for the updates which downloads new cameras into your unit, you can set it for 250 500 or 1000 metres, easy transferrable between cars, you can even programme your own warnings into it, ie duck if your on the pull and going past your house lol i paid close to £400 for mine and its down to about £330 ish now, BEST £400 i ever spent m8 (only one thing to warn about if your car has a heated front screen it may need an attachment, zx is ok;) )
  18. im sure a few may have some of these links for getting links to help/advice but for those who havnt got them all, maybe worth adding to favs' for quick references http://www.tilehurst.net/infopool/links.html
  19. yes either get a frequency converter (£10-£15) or fit another radio with no problems
  20. sorry about your cat m8, not nice to lose a pet and under those circumstances, as above a lot of out of control dogs are the fault of the owners, as someone who owns a dog a japanese akita, who is THE best housedog ive ever had, mine never roams ,never let out apart from our garden but is driven beserk by cats in our own garden, (and we always know we're our kids are;) ) the same cats shit in our front/back garden, rip the bin bags in the middle of the night, if my dog did this in every neighbours gardens, im sure they would have summat to say, and thats not mentioning climbing on my car when i had the jag convertable in the drive, with a cloth roof i caught a cat scratching the bugger, which does wonders for a ragtop:( so although i have every symphathy for your loss m8 cats walk the streets and in everybodys property, so "occupational" hazard is the only way i can describe it i think the only recourse you would have is to stop him letting his dogs run free, but i dont think i could explain to my dog that cats are not for chasing
  21. i cant be sure as ive never tried it at jessops, just i know someone who has printed the info from amazon and they matched it, but as they have knocked you back, maybe best phoning first i agree with you re the shops, unless it was an item id tried/seen i dont think id buy a camera etc via the net, as the diggy camera stuff is a minefield back to the original question lol, ive currently got a canon powershot a80 and started with the a60 then the a70 its a top camera range, and does everything i want it to, dead easy to use, but also got loads of added features for someone who wants to fiddle, ive given the a70 to my 12 year old, and he takes some cracking photos with it, my m8 is a bit of a buff re cameras, and he completley baffled me with info re cameras, so i found it easier to try them, so that takes you back to the highstreet shops lol
  22. id have it out with them m8, their policy is they'll pricematch within 20 miles but also with online companies as long as they are uk based i think most companies have got to be prepared to match online now or they are going the way of dixons
  23. try pipex http://www.solo.pipex.net/ your not locked into 12 month contracts, had it since it came out and never had a problem
  24. stamps feet folds arms its mine its mine boo hoo:cry:
