  1. Hi ya'll, been hammering this forum today, many helpful replies too! Should I get one of those in-line pipe efforts with the threaded hole for the water temp sensor (aftermarket), if so, where should I put it? It should be at the top of the coolant system, only one pipe, but it has a bend in it, would I be able to bung one in there? And what size is the pipe (internal diameter)? Thanks again, ooh, anyone got a picture of one of these fitted? Cheeeerrssss....
  2. Sorted, works a treat through the grommet for the bonnet cable, everything is close by as well.... got the boost gauge fitted, made me happy now seeing it's boosting a treat, but balls to getting under it and fitting the sandwich plate with this rain, gotta go to work in a bit too :( cheers fellas...
  3. Cheers, drill a new hole?
  4. Where is the best place to route a pipe for a boost gauge and wires for other gauges from the engine bay to cab?
  5. reet, i'll bung a bit on, can't do any harm...
  6. i have a seperate earth on the sender, just dunno if the PTFE will react with oil?
  7. aye, i'll get some at some point and change it mate....
  8. Is it necessary to put PTFE tape on the oil pressure sender? They are a tapered fitting, so shouldn't need it, but have seen a roll come with some kits...
  9. Cheers, I just ran a bead of silcone where the mating part of the plastic i have cut was, so should seal as good as before, it rained alot last night, so will have a look in a bit :)
  10. hi, I'm Pep Howard, I've come to fix your plumbing....
  11. ok pal, will bang em on, seals are a bit tired, might make/buy some new ones.... they look the dogs by the way matey!
  12. yeah, but instead of coulours, a, b and c... the way i have wired them up makes sense, got the centre console at home, just need to know if the needle shooting up on the oil pressure guage wont do it if the sensor is in the equasion, haven't got it yet, might have it tommorrow, if know it does that, then i can go and fit them to the zed...
  13. as you cut a bit out to fit the leds in the top aperture, you have to cut part of the plastic off that seals the centre panel to the back of the car, can't see how water isn't going to piss in when it rains? it did on my last one, the centre panel filled half full with water, hope this one doesn't, gettin expensive now, not to mention the ball ache of swapping it all over, and the el strip...
  14. cheers guys, but i'm after pictures of the old bulb holder, the back part you remove with one screw, fitted back on, I'm re-fitting the leds to a new centre panel, but on my old one, couldn't get the back part back on and it got water in as the seals on my centre panel were poo, but i do wanna fit the backs on... cheers...
  15. anyone got any pictures of the conversion done for all four and with the back bulb holder thingies fitted back on? cheers...
  16. Hi, I have wtare temp, oil pressure and boost gauges.... Boost is simple, red, black, orange, pipe for boost... Oil pressure has same red, black, orange, no probs, but has green for the sender, and another black and red, I pressume the black is another ground and the other red is for the ignition switch, so it lights up, but doesn't show the pressure till engine ignition is fully on? With all the blacks and reds together, the needle shoots all the way to the top, this is without a sender connected, and I know the sender puts a resistance to the gauge, so would the needle be at the bottom with the sender connected? Water temp gauge has red, black, orange, no probs, green for the sender, and another thinner red and black, do all the reds and blacks go together? seems to work ok when they do.... Cheers.... 17. that's what the manual says, but mine happily took 4 litres, i know the dipstick isn't great, but even after running then settling, it was only at the very tip, it just doesn't seem much at all 3.5 litres? the toy town 1.2 litre engine in my punto takes a gallon... it was completely drained, should be ok tho?
  18. meant to say have you got the switch in the middle position....
  19. you haven't got the switch on the autobox shifter console (if it's an import) in the middle? having it on 'hold' will cause the car pull off in 2nd gear....
  20. Have you checked the power steering fluid level? (don't mean to patronise, but can be easily over-looked, and the hi-cas light is for that too) and are you pressing the brake when trying to move out of park? (it wont come out of park unless you are pressing the brake)... HTH matey, if i was nearer i'd pop over, but it's a fair trek!
  21. hahaha, just did a giggle dribble in my boys briefs reading that....
