  1. maybe someone near you has one you can try? It's an easy job to swap over....
  2. providing all the connections in the plugs are nice and clean, or you could still get the same symptoms...
  3. the only way is to swap it for a known healthy one and see if it cures your problem matey...
  4. I've got one of those with a serial to USB converter (99p jobby) and it all works fine!
  5. I've driven an NA auto, TT auto (which was mine before the conversion) and TT manual (which is mine), I do like the NA's smoothness, as well as the auto's nice changes, when they work, but the kick in your face and the little bit of poo that comes out your back bottom you get when the turbos kick in, when you drop a cog and boot it, is better than sex.... (well, almost)... As you have kindly been offered a test drive/s, see if you get a feel for whatever, it's all about how it makes you feel!
  6. you will never fill up the loo with your pi55es matey, because of the nature of the U-bend, however, if you were to block up said U-bend, hmmm, I would say 5-6 right good'ns may do the job... Practice in a bucket, or, better still, one of your cider bottles, that way you can acuratly measure your urine expulsion, and conduct a mythbusters style experiment...

  9. and I wouldn't keep revving it to 7000 if it's not running right mate! Maybe a boost leak? PTU is often the culprit tho...

  13. could be a fuel leak around the FPR, very common problem, examine all the pipes, and sniff like Kerry Katona...
  14. FPR is located to the right hand rear of the plenum, a top hat shaped diagphram unit, angled down, fuel in one end and vacuum from the balance bar in the other, but it does sound like PTU...
  15. bell housing bolt on the gearbox matey.....
  16. yeah mate, it's pretty normal, mine does exactly the same, and if your getting water on your hand... mine steams alot...
  17. crikey mate! oh well, if your still happy with it, will be decent when ya get an engine in!
  18. mine seemed fine doing just that mate, didn't drive it much tho, I had the plenum off, so I cut off the EGR plenum pipes as far back as I could, made some blanks for the plenum, then whilst I had the gear box off, removed the EGR jobby, but the pipe going to the manifold is a travesty to get off mate! I managed it tho, but I did have the car on a lifter with no gearbox on, then I got a bung and bunged it up...
  19. mine doesn't work either! have had the barrel out and cleaned to death, still never worked... not really arsed tho!
  20. technically yes, unless the valve/diaphram is faulty...
