Remake of V to be aired on sci fi channel
i rented the whole of the original series on DVD - was quite watchable. i might give this one a go - i recently gave up on Flashforward after episode 6 - it started to go too chatty and touchy-feely and not enough what's going on sort of thing. cant wait till Feb tho ;)

Applying for a new driving licence
I've only just got round to applying for a photo-ID driving licence to replace my manky paper one. I've just had some mug shots done, filled out the form and got some ID together. The next step is to cut my paper licence in half and send that along with the other docs. Then a bit appears on the website that says: you can legally drive without a licence (i.e. between cutting up my old one and receiving my new one) as long as: you have held a Great Britain or Northern Ireland licence issued since 1 January 1976 you are not disqualified from driving (there are different rules for medium or large vehicles, minibus or bus drivers - the traffic commissioner for your area will decide whether to grant your entitlement to drive these vehicles) you have not been, and would not be, refused a licence for medical reasons you keep to any special conditions which apply to the licence the entitlement on your licence has not expired The only one I'm not sure about is the first one - does it mean you can drive if you've held a licence since before Jan 1976 (for over 33 years), or does it mean you can drive if you've held a licence since after Jan 1976 (for 14 years like myself)?

Man Made Climate Change - A Proven Fraud!
id love to see the government's response to this - you can almost see them now, gathered in an emergency conference somewhere, plotting how theyre going to keep up the fear - they'll think up some bull$hit story like swine flu is due to global warming or something.

i remember this Z from another for sale thread, i think its when it was imported into the country. looks gorgeous mate and sorry to hear it took a while to get it going. i do admit i like the dash - i wouldnt choose to have mine like that, but it gives it a nice aggressive dragster look

mine's a daily driver but when we start to get particularly cold and frosty mornings then i might revert to the civic and just leave the Z on maintenance charge and under a car cover

A Politician's Poem
I want a floating duck house I want to clear my moat I need to mend my tennis court That’s why I need your vote. I have to build a portico My swimming pool needs mending My lovely plants need horse manure And the Aga needs much tending A chandelier is vital Mock Tudor boards are great My hanging baskets won awards And I’ve earned a tax rebate. I need a glitter toilet seat. My piano so needs tuning Maltesers help me stay awake And my orchard must need pruning I could have said the rules were wrong And often thought I should, But somehow it was easier To profit all I could The public really have to see That the rules are there to test And by defrauding taxpayers We were just doing our best The Speaker of the House has gone, Our sacrificial beast, But the public are still braying For our corpses at the feast What do the public want from us, Those vote-wielding ingrates? They really should be grateful To be financing our estates. The message is so very clear, (we’re merely learning late) That the British way of living well Is to screw the bloody state.

Are people driving slower......?
definately agree with you Rich - people are driving slower. i guess its half petrol prices and half enviro-terrorism ;) on the plus side it makes it easier to overtake them :D
-
are dump valves universal?
i guess the word 'recirculating' needs to be added in a few places above :D

Battery dead
funnily enough mine died on Tuesday. when leave it over the weekend and start on Monday its a little slow to turn over but once going she's fine. I left it for three days over this weekend and when I went to her on Tuesday she was almost flat - barely had the strength to unlock the doors but not enough to fire the starter. i always keep a spare for these occasions so i swapped it over (a REAL pita ) - i'll have to get into the habit of hookin up the maintenance charger over weekends :( i think due to my electronics (RSM, SAFC2, EBC, turbo timer, CD) that I reckon all need a sliver of charge to keep settings, and the alarm/immob, plus i have reverse indiglo dials and an illuminated rear panel which perhaps reduces what charge the battery gets while im driving at night - are all probably the cause. i think i should spend some time with an ammeter hooked up to the battery and methodically remove some fuses to see what impact it all has.
