  1. looks great from the rear. makes me want to have my rear lights tinted
  2. as long as they were chavs then they were perfectly fair game! hilarious!!
  3. entirely down to your own choice - the stock recirc valves will prevent the turbine stall you may get with a system that has neither atmospheric nor recirculating valves. pointless on an automatic as you have to throttle off for them to dump whereas on a manual you have to throttle off to change up anyway (unless youre being chased by bogeymen!) they will cause a slight drop in performance as your turbos have to build up again (unless youre mad enough to have anti-lag installed (you know who you are! ;) )) some see them as bragging rights or the sign of a powerful car - some see them as boy-racery. it's up to you - i have them on mine and enjoy them! :smw:
  4. welcome to the club mate! :)
  5. get him to take you round that mini roundabout just outside the industrial estate (take a sick bag with you!!) PS. say hi to Chris, Jayne and Matt (if he's there) for me :)
  6. happy birthday mate - nice to meet you on Saturday at Jeffs :)
  7. deffo declare it as a mod made to cover your own back. if your insurers wont cover you then tell them to fook off and shop around mate. you'll probably find yourself a cheaper quote too. my V5 doesnt say anything about transmission either
  8. sorry to hear that mate, im glad that youre alright though.
  9. nice find! i was about to hit the repost button after that one in the N-Trance video.
  10. i hope you enjoy your setup as much as i did with mine once Chris had finished with it :) why not pop it up the road to ZedWorld - theyre only about 10 mins away from CG
  11. just got back from Jeff's - they told me the piping had almost come off both sides of the driver's side turbo!!!! my GOD i had the drive of my life on the way back!!! after my other thread about not being able to beat 14psi no matter what settings i dialled in - after dropping the settings for safety reasons before i left, i hit 16.6 straight away and the responsiveness was immense  just needs a little tweaking to get it to 17 and a bit out of it now ;)
  12. thanks Jeff - I'll see how i feel tomorrow and i might pop in. :)
  13. i voted to take off the graphics, but if the car is kitted and tuned, a couple of subtle or thoughtfully-placed decals would look good :) ps. nice work Si
  14. congrats mate - i know you'll do a cracking job :)
  15. lol, never go with the sister site. they just want money out of you. if you sign up to one dating site, why the hell would you sign up to another one too?! (or shouldnt i ask :x: ) ;)
  16. welcome to the club :)
  17. was on the way to work this morning and having a good drive through the countryside - came to overtake a bin lorry and the engine started juddering and i lost lots of power. the first thing i thought was damp filter but ive had this problem loads before and that is different in that it just cuts out once for half a second or so. what i noticed on driving was that being gentle on the throttle was ok, but when i started to build up boost, it started juddering again, and i could hear air escaping from what sounded like the driver's side near the front bumper. also it would try to stall on me when out of gear, but as long as i blipped the throttle then it would pick up again. i checked what i could at work - nothing untoward in the engine bay (apart from the severed wires at the dett sensor connection that i posted up about in another thread but thats been like it for weeks), i checked whatever piping/connections at both intercoolers i could reach, hardpipe connections seem ok, no great big hole in the intercoolers (that i could tell anyway), dump valves seemed ok... on the way home this evening i took it steady and she ran fine under gentle driving - even idled properly - but as i got close to home i tried building up boost again and the problem was there - sounds just as if a major boost pipe has come off on the driver's side. not just a psst or hiss, but a whoosh. could any piping have come off nearer the turbo?
  18. im sorry to hear this mate - im not very good at giving advice so I'll keep my trap shut but to coin a phrase things will always get better mate, no matter how long it takes. I met you at the Tamworth photoshoot a couple of years ago and youre a damn fine chap! keep your chin up and my best wishes to you!
  19. i was also proud of my japanese tax sticker but alas it went away when my windscreen was replaced :(
  20. plenty of different approaches, most of which are mentioned above and i have tried them all to varying degrees of success, lol! as Spin doctor says, make sure the small channels that run from near the edge of the targa top to the wheel arch are clear. check the rubbers for cracks/bad repair. make sure that the rubbers are correctly bonded to the metal so water doesnt just travel beneath it use Capt. Tolleys creeping crack cure to plug any gaps left over. this fixed my driver-side good and proper, but even the cure wont stay put in my passenger side, meaning there's a larger gap somewhere that i have yet to find!
  21. nothing quite so interesting as you lot! - im an MI Developer for A&L / Santander UK. i develop, analyse and maintain web-based management information. was previously a warehouse manager :D
  22. didnt realise that was Audrey! great to hear from you matey! how's upside-down life treating you?
  23. AIV valve? you can hear it most near the nearside front wheel arch. if so then nothing to worry about - just annoying!
