cheers mate - do Z1/AMZ require you to send over your stock props first, or can you pay extra and not bother? i always get the impression they'll only do it on a return basis.

not sure what the article is getting at - it looks like the ombudsman are saying that insurers have to prove that undeclared mods need to make a 'significant' difference to the car for the insurer to withdraw cover - sounds like good news for the driver, but it'll probably mean higher premiums or stricter terms

a one-piece lightweight prop has always been on my wish list - but im close to getting an NA diff - am i correct in thinking that a hybrid TT/NA prop is required for the NA diff and therefore if I wanted a one-piece instead it would have to be custom-made?

obviously cant comment on the ones you got, but 2f2c do japspeed products - at least my zorst and decats were. :)

definately go with a decent make like SGP or Unorthodox - the difference in weight between the lightweights and the stock is quite striking. only side effect ive noticed is that the car as a whole is a little sluggish when at very low revs (eg. when doing a 3-point turn i need to blip the throttle a little to get full power steering - also the water temp will creep up a few degrees suddenly as the water pump is underdriven) - none of this is an issue though and the free-er revving makes up for it!

can anyone that knows owt about setting these things up help me - the following settings used to give me about 15psi, but since ive had the engine tweaked (timing, a/f ratio corrected etc.) the same settings are giving me 12psi. with my setup i'm looking to aim for 17psi, but can someone suggest what the settings should be for 15, 16, and 17? or is it a matter of driving to my personal test track and having a (very careful) play? set: 75 gain: 14 start: 9.10 cheers

what colour smoke mate? - theyll always burn a bit of water off from the zorst when its been cold/wet outside. blue on overrun and idle could be your pcv valves failing (£80-ish for parts to replace) or maybe something a little worse. oh and try not to let her run at idle when cold for a long period of time - best to drive it first to get the engine 'lubed up. just seen your photos thread mate and your motor is in immaculate condition - keep it looking that way!!

as mentioned, i respect all motors in this band - 'liners, evos, rex's, Zs, even poopras and subarus, purely for their power and/or drivability. what they LOOK like on the outside and inside, and the average type of person that owns it, well thats a different matter. IMO the Z is the best trade-off between exterior, interior, power and ($hite) handling.
