  1. i went Hinckley and back, but I was in a Civic so it wouldn't really have counted!
  2. sorry to hear that mate - glad youre alright.
  3. i know it doesnt help mate but i never do it over the net, i always talk to the companies when im scouting out new insurance, its a pain in the backside but i think its worth it. and i always say 'id like to confirm that its a Japanese import', and i declare every single mod apart from the smelly tree air freshener. you watch they'll have me on that! :headvswal
  4. i doubt it, just the filter by itself won't provide more air than the MAF can measure or the stock injectors can provide. running at 12psi shouldn't be a problem.
  5. I had same/similar problem, top two water pipes going into front of plenum had perished. as i poured water into the rad, 5 secs later I could see it running down the front of the cam-end cover and past the bottom crank pulley.
  6. yeah i remember the journal. i know not many people fancied filling it in, but as said above its a great way for people to show what they're doing to their motors.
  7. my opinion would be you may notice a little improvement under full boost but its more of a requirement when running higher boost than a mod in itself. but if you can get a decent one and have the cash for it then it won't do any harm, actually it'll help reduce the chance of detonation due to hot air.
  8. are they audi-style fairy lights i see right at the end??? that whole clip is like watching a boring Gran Turismo 4 replay!
  9. it won't change the pressure, but it will cool the air better than stock. you probably won't notice any change with a stock setup, perhaps a small gain when fitted to a Z with a few mods, but they are vital when upping boost above say 16psi. don't need to change setup when installing. are you talking about side-mounts or front-mount?
  10. just put £40 of V-power in - 96p per litre :D and theyve put a sign up saying this Thursday between 8 and 8 the V-power will be the same price as normal unleaded. that'll be 86p then. God i love Shell.
  11. i was about to say that one's as old as the hills, but you say in the thread it's a year old so i'll let you off ;)
  12. @ Nick - that's a great offer mate, I might be able to meet Dave in Hinckley, depends on what time he's going to be there. he's right this is getting confusing!
  13. thanks for reminding me - im having a bridge and root clean-up tomorrow morning. :( he's anaesthatising me so hopefully it wont be that bad. one of the nurses usually shoves her boob in my face so at least that's something to look forward to
  14. i have a PS2 game left before I went PS3 - WRC Rally 4 - I'll be more than happy to send that over! Richard - you're a legend mate. ps. got bits of pc in the attic just going up to have a look i got: kettle plug, DVD ROM drive, IDE ribbon, various other cables, Advent midi-tower with motherboard, CPU (think its a 2.4gb), Maxtor HD (70Gb - ish with XP home), network card, CD rewriter, 1 gig maybe more of RAM, psu, creative labs sound card. no video card tho :( its all yours if you want it for Diane bro
  15. if he's been running 460bhp+ on stock injectors, rad, etc. i wouldn't touch that car with a bargepole other than for a breaker!
  16. true but they want to encourage spending not saving so you only get your 'discount' if you buy something. let's hope people dont start maxing out their credit cards like they did a few years ago and get into even more trouble!
  17. seriously, thats über cool! i wonder where it landed and/or what it hit...!
  18. people with black eyebrows and white hair scare me! interesting about the VAT though. if it'll cost £12b in the first year then the government will find a way of clawing that back. "brum brum flash flash kaching kaching" comes to mind...
  19. you do if you're thick enough to have a vented headlight panel [cough!] but yes youre right the upward-pointing twin filters dont suffer from road splash like the single filter
  20. probably not the same problem but the bottom of my 3-pod A-pillar gets cosy up against the far-right corner of the dash sometimes and makes a light knocking noise now and then. the good thing about the squeaks and knocks in my car is that they're from all over the place so there's never any one single noise to annoy me
  21. is that the filter or the ptu (or both!!!) with my vented panel, yes the filters get wet and you get limited to 4000rpm, not had a problem with the ptu there. sorry if you weren't talking to me! lol
  22. dont think i'll be having an overheating ptu! (even if it was a S1)
