  3. Hey Garry. What a great idea and I’m very much up for supporting this with you. I’ve just spoken to the wife about this. Unfortunately the boys won’t be able to handle the 4 hour round trip to come along but I’ve just played my trump card, being that it’s my birthday on the 18th, and will come along myself (may try and rope a mate along with me). Just a thought but can we do a fund raising pot on behalf of the club. I’d be happy to put some money in.
  4. That is wonderful. There’s more skill in my opinion in cleaning an engine bay than the body work. Do you unbolt a lot of items to get behind them properly or leave in place and look for a cleaning tool that can get in those hard to reach areas. For your car Simon I’ll make the time.
  5. Here we go... It’s black but very crusty and almost sandy in texture. This is just general grime Here is a lot of soft gunk, looks like it was a leaking PS pot but I’ve cleaned a lot off. And here is my first bit of cleaning.
  6. Lol, that’s cheating if you pull the engine and respray. Although that’s the plan for winter 2019...
  7. Cheers Simon. Do you buy yours off eBay? My local motor factors don’t sell it.
  8. I’ve used Gunk before and, like you say, have found it to be good however it was pants on whatever the muck is in the 300.
  9. Hi all I managed to get an hour today on the 300 so started trying to clean up the engine bay. I do like a well cleaned bay and this 300 is one of the dirtiest bays I’ve ever owned. Any heavily oiled areas I’ve had to deal with on previous cars I’ve dealt with using WD40. :thumbup1:Unfortunately the 300 is so groty that the WD40 wasn’t touching the sides without working it in with a toothbrush and cloth.:tooth: Can you guys recommend any products that are more aggressive on contact please? :gun_bandana: Cheers,Chris P.S. Please feel free to post your engine bay to keep me motivated.
  10. Haha! I could just see myself walking into the garage to find Archie sitting on the back of my car eating his breakfast off it.
  11. Thanks for the offer mate but they’re not for me.
  12. Hi Dave. Well it would make an interesting breakfast bar for the kids. I actually think the big wing looks ok on SWB (especially in black) but personally I don’t think the look right on the LWB. Have you painted it yet, what will you go for now?
  13. That’s very nice Andrew. Did you make it yourself?
  14. You can see it went under heigh pressure as you’ve got dirty edges inside and out but I’m sure the tyre is rated a lot higher than 45psi. I’m sure Michilne will replace it. Sorry you still not getting the luck you deserve!
  15. Happy birthday Simon. Birthday present for the car on the cards?
  16. Happy birthday, hope you’re having a good day.
  17. Sounds like a good idea to me.
  18. Mine are in the shed but can check what’s on them if you like?
  19. Fair enough, let’s cancel this attempt. CANCELLED
  20. You’re doing a great job on the car and although it seems to be fighting you you’re going to end up with one of the best cars on the forum. The tyre could have let go for any number of reasons. Did they say it fell apart at a heigh or low speed? Better you found the issue there rather than a fast bend. :sweatdrop:
  21. Saturday 21st April. Time to be arranged. The date is fast approaching now. Can those on the list please confirm you’re still up for it please. Those that were interested in coming for a chin wag please can you also confirm and I’ll look into sorting out a route to go for a drive and pit stop somewhere. :thumbup1: Running the risk on the rollers... 007 Stephen (if still an owner) Rolandas Coming to watch... Ianl Nickz32 Bigh Anyone else interested?
  22. Then I think it only right that we go with Eggs idea and get a picture of my Z in front of one. My postcode is PO91RL, I’ll best standing out front when you arrive. :gunsmilie:
  23. A curry and Talladege Nights on the box. Who said romance was dead?!
  24. Where have you hidden that camera now?!:w00t: And it’s curry night!
  25. Thanks for the heads up. Gives me time to arrange a romantic evening with the wife :tt1: and pick up some brownie points rather than watch/listen to “Eat well for less” whist reading someone’s build post.
