  1. Please don’t try and fix it yourself just to get it running, you’ll more likely do more harm than good. It’s been sitting for a long time and really, in my opinion, needs a specialist to start it (belt, pumps, pulleys, oil, fuel has all been left standing for 4 years) I was very excited when I first spotted this on eBay and had a fair few chats with the owner before you snuck in. If it wasn’t a cat c this would have been in my garage. What put me off wasn’t the amount of money that needed to be sunk into it but the fact that it will now always be a cat c and an undocumented one at that. I hate to say it as I’ve always wanted a white UK manual but I think it’s a breaker
  2. Personally I think £3k is way to much for a none running cat c BUT it’s worth what someone’s prepared to pay. If you’re asking £3k and someone wants it and has the money net then that’s great. :clover:
  3. There were other cars there? :confused1::oops:
  4. So who watched this? The wife has the heighlights on now (so I’m reading Si rebuild #4 post again) and looking for any other subtle was to distract myself whilst trying to stay engaged enough to “oh and ar” at the right time.:innocent:
  5. Looks great Dave, can’t wait to see it in person.
  6. I had a great time. It was a very relaxed even with loads of very cool cars, I really couldn’t pick a favourite and out 300zxTT corner held there own. Thanks for the invite Gary, I hope the charity got loads of awareness and money raised.
  7. Haha, very good. Amoungst other things I also got this book. :cool3:
  8. Thanks mate. I had a good day today taking the day off work and spending my time preparing it for Gary’s charity event tomorrow. First thing was to finish off plumbing the front speakers into the original wiring. Then I removed the Toad fudged total closure system on the window soldering up the splice cable to the window switches. I then replaced some cracked front indercator lights with some clean used units. Scrubbed my foot mates with G101. They came up nice. Had a hole in the radio surround where an LED should sit for the alarm system. The retained must have broke some time ago but I fixed it with a small black grommet and pushed the LED up through it. Then a quick hover. Finally a polish and wax job. All in all one of the most enjoyable birthdays I’ve had.
  9. Well bar fitting some new used front quarter lights tomorrow morning and a little detailing when we park up that’s my 300 all ready and looking good.
  10. I could of but I’d rather give them to someone unopened and I had a feeling they might be the blue tint type.
  11. Umm, not for me then. Thanks for your help.
  12. Yes, they have a blue tint. Do they look cheesy when fitted?
  13. I need to replace a head light lamp and was given a set of the above with the car when I brought it. However I don’t want to fit them if they’re going to be neenar blue. Anyone tried these before? What is the standard fit lamp? Cheers, Chris.
  14. Well my day started with the intention of cleaning the car ready for Garys Charity Family Fun Day this Saturday however I had to change my plans after being driven nutty with the state of the audio set up in the boot. Firstly the wiring was just a mess, the cable selection was poor and the termination were very lazy. Then the stereo used a CD multi changer in the boot that would rattle when you put any base through the 6x9s. The MDF parcel shelf bowed where an amp was screwed to the underside. Another amp made fitting the roof in the boot a PITA. So with the after market head unit out to remove all the cable I took the opportunity to fit a standard UK radio and CD player. Gary had kindly given me a box of old units some time ago and I had pulled out what I needed and have had them “serviced”. The original loom had been hacked to give power to the aftermarket unit but thankfully it was all there and just needed repairing. I’ll not be keeping this set up as it is. Over the winter will do a full OEM+ installation, this was just to help tidy the car up at the expense of an over powered poorly set up installation. I’m happy with the result.
  15. Just change the colour of the ones you have.
  16. I’m looking for a really good boot interior trim set. Must be in great shape with no scratches. I’m happy to look for each part separately as finding a great “full set” of one person is unlikely. Colour is dark grey. So here’s the list... Near side rear wheel house Near side rear quarter Near side lamp cover Boot latch cover Off side lamp cover Off side rear quarter Off side rear wheel house Off side rear wheel house extension Many thanks, Chris.
  17. Great colour and looks so clean! I thought the same about the wheels but when I zoomed in on them they actually look nice, I think it’s the colour that makes them look odd from a distant.
  18. I forgot to update this so here it is. After changing the offending plug I done a few short runs between 12-20 miles at a time. A week or so later I drove to see Jim about some other work I’m wanting done to the car. He pulled the plug and it was as good as new. He also plugged the car in to see if there was a fault code and there was a PTU fault stored. This may have happened when I unplugged the PTU for cleaning after the plug had gummed up or it may have caused the problem. Another thought was that it may have been a simple case of “cold fouling” from starting the car in the depths of winter to move it out the garage for cleaning/tinkering. Either way the problem hasn’t returned. So thanks for everyone’s input, here’s hoping the problem doesn’t return. Cheers, Chris.
  19. Yep, I’m still in mate. My copilot has pulled out but I think I’ve recruited another. Looking forward to the mini convoy with Edd and Ash if you guys are still in?
  20. Brilliant! Are you going to run the speaker of the headunit or an amp?
  21. Interesting stuff, where do you think you went wrong with your initial calculations? Also I love to hear what you think of the head unit as I was looking at that myself for the 300. One thing I didn’t like was the front USB port, I’d much rather connect the iPhone via a hidden hard wire (not a big fan of Bluetooth). Will you be running it with amps? I was looking at ditching the amps for the speakers and fitting standard size units in the original mountings and running an under seat 8inch sub.
  22. I might get in on this but might be tricky as trying to arrange anything with the kids on board makes timing things hard.
  23. Hi I’m after blue UK NEAR SIDE door glass as mine is seriously scratched. Many thanks, Chris.
  24. I think Jim at PowerZed (*+44 7725 886170‬) can get these sorted for you. Well worth a visit.
