Don’t think anyone was judging an individual mate. Rules are rule, I think we were all just shocked that the committee felt those rule were being broken here. Difficult job being on top of the pile and trying to keep everything in order when all you want to do is join in and enjoy yourself. You might be surprised how much it can take to “top up” the fluid. My Hicas light was on when I first started my car and it took more than I expected to top it up, certainly more than a teaspoon. What I did notice though was that when I, took the lid of the reservoir off, moved the float up and replaced the lid the light went off when I started the car (it had tricked it into thinking it was full for a moment until the float shook back down). You could try this before adding a teaspoon of fluid.

I’m sure my opinion is of no interest to anyone but that’s not going to stop me saying this... Some members, who are traders of one sort or another, are an asset to the community they follow and support, and although these members should, if they wish, sign up to traders’ membership (if they want to actively promote their business) they should be cut a little slack when posting work relating to the forum they’re in. I mean would we lock up a mechanic for posting a How To they made on removing a front bumper if they weren’t registered traders? I hope not! Sorry to see your post locked Si, I’m sure it was going to be one of the best posts since the What did you do to your Zed today got happy slapped with tyre BS.

Is it safe to get the car in the air and give the underside a good pressure wash? Everything under there has a good IP rating so to speak?

3 years and two kids ago I would have been bang up for that but my boys prevent me from long weekends away driving. It is going to give me the time to build a dream 300 ready for the days the boys want to spend a weekend with the grandparents.:drool:

Me too mate but I’m shocked at what people want for UK “barn finds”. Out of the 3 I’ve found only 1 was in a barn and the other 2 outside returning to ore.
