  1. Used mine as a daily driver for 2.5 years when i lived 30miles from work. Then when i worked for myself and travelled Uk wide it was economically unjustifyable and i retired it to weekends/evenings and a got

Try a Golf TDI/ Seat leon/ BMW 320d 130/150 models before you bemoan the oilburners!...And don't forget you're talking to a 300 owner of 4 years and a couple of honda legends and big beamers myself before that so i don't drive around like a granny!! Modern diesels are quick and have more tuning scope for extra BHP than thier petrol counterparts. The 130bhp Tdi golf i referred to (and before you start I've heard all the "car belongs to the gay community jokes"!!) has been chipped and would cruise at 130 before the chip upgrade (on the autobahn!). This was also quiet with revs at about 3.5K in Sixth....Now with the chip and derv mix it will do 147 on occasions when i visit the Autobahn ;-) - Thats why i posted the comment! If your an advocate of beamers test drive the 320d 150bhp coupe before you bemoan the oilburners...might change your mind!! :smash:

Buy a decent German Diesel and run that on 50% vegetable oil...Search Google. I know a Someone that's tried it on a TDi 130 and it works a treat, with more power as well!! Just have to clean the back end a bit more often, so i'm told ;-) ahem!! ... Pro conversions can also be done to run 100%, which merely pre heats the stuff first and primes the injectors and pump with Diesel before you switch it off as it starts poorly if not preheated.
  5. Big TTS...Very Good!
  6. Theres a link on here somewhere, but at £6 for members on here it's worth losing £6 over!
  7. ConZult - Damian/TubZ, Cardiff.
  8. What about this drift show thing in Chepstow Racecourse?
  9. Cheers Lymon. Seems that the battery off and ECU re-set did the trick, but i did what you said as a further precaution and it's sorted. Thanks again. Damian.
  10. Followed both the write ups by AlFo (FAQ 3rd July 2007 17:17) for adjusting TPS and then the Base idle. TPS set to 0.46V. Then, Using the ConZult to monitor revs while adjusting the base idle switching on and off and removing the batterery in and out to get at the Base Idle Screw. However, when i put the yellow plug back and restarted her, she idled at about 600rpm and then cut out. When i restarted she's now back up to 16/1650 rpm....When i select the idle adjustment in ConZult she drops back to 900rpm .....Leaving the battery off for 30 mins to re-set the ECU, but anyone got any other thoughts???
  11. Wierd how some Z drivers Baulk (Funkysi) at the TVR Sagaris? This is a car i'd love as well and leans far more toward the lines and shape of the Z than the squareness of the R33 or any of the american muscle. The TVR T350 is a similar shape with less vents and grooves but a bit small and girly!.....I like the curves of the Shelby Cobra, but have to say, the posted pic i think is a kit car from looking at the single roll bar??
  12. I reckon it's your motherboard on teh way out!!... Does it only happen when your on-line? Next time you log off and shut down get the hoover out next to your PC/Laptop Fan and heatsink and give it a good sucking! I reckon your burning Fluff?!! I kind of believe...open minded, but until i start getting my morning cuppa left on the bedside locker my logical mind always trys to find an explanation!!... and if you believe too much you'll see things and then read into events after seeing them....Let me know if the vax solves the issue!!
  13. Anyone watch this on BBC Four? Just googled delorean and found this link to the New York Times for Today! http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/22/the-delorean-dream-bubble/?hp Future? Back to the Past?....!!
  14. You coukld buy my old stock set and powder coat them.. PM me a reasonable offer for stock alloys...
  15. John steam from under the bonnet sounds like the two coolant hoses on the top hose...I'd start here before removing the plenum....£8 from nissan or try MJP on here in the traders section. These can be done with the plenum in place (and is the most likely cause as they crack and split, and like mine the split might only open when warm)...common issue and can be done by removing the top hose, (2 Jubilee clips) and the top hardpipe, (3 bolts?) Pull it off, and get some long nose pliers on the clips that hold the pipes in place to the head!...I'd start here for the cost and it's a good way to get your hands dirty again! If i were closer, i'd pop around but as it's an hour and a half minimum i'll be sticking to my local tonight! I'd avoid Nissan like the plague however, as they know bugger all about these cars! The last nissan mechanic i had to work on mine was when i bought it, and he did the 60k service (timing belt, water pump etc) it's with this work that it's suggested to change the two pipes i mention above and he forgot, or didn't know to do it....My supposed water pump leak turned out to be these two pipes as i did the investigation myself after a chat with Jeff at Zedworld in Tamworth...V. helpful guy and nearish to you so perhaps you could give them a try...http://www.zedworld.co.uk/ Good luck and hope she's not as bad a she sounds
  16. My mum (Irish and mad as a hatter) bought me a sticker years back, which i had in the back of my Audi coupe surfmobile for a while....It Read "My tyres are Knackered, and my Knackers are tired"!!... ...Not alot has changed since i sold that car!!
  17. Just seen your only 27 so plenty of time yet!
  18. Mate from Uni works for Stenna now out of Fishguard Harbour. He worked for several tug firms up there and down in Milford Haven/pembroke before that. He did some course up in a merchent navy college in Glasgow for a bit, but then he had a 2 year stint with Maersk shipping where he was off on container ships for 3-6 months at a time before he earned his officer stripes which means he can work as 2nd mate. I could ask him for some details if you like fella, but its more about seamanship and safety at sea/Helicopter survival courses etc that cost the money if you enter in later life....Drop me a PM and i'll pass you his details.
  19. Now that is the daddy mario!
  20. Just reviewed a link a mate sent of Jack Black performing AC/DC's 'Back in Black' with the Foo Fighters and found this below it on Youtube...Made me chuckle.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyjT-cKrSk4&mode=related&search= Contains the c word so apologies if thsi breaks the forum rules!
  21. Best to log on and stay on with one connection...Any HR issues just say you logged on and must have forgoten to log off! If you use tabbed browsing, keep your internal 'intranet' open on one tab and that's the reason your browser is open! :x: HTH! ;-)
