  1. I don't think he's pretending it's the actual one, although he'd probably be happy for someone to think that. He's just saying that it's 'a' 300zx, as seen on Top Gear. Appauling ad though.
  2. in FunkiSi's absence:
  3. has the 5th gear one been on already? I thought it was tomorrow night.
  4. Thanks Jeff, that's very good of you. I'll see how I get on with the AA first, but if necessary I'll get back to you. Thanks, Phill
  5. No worries, the car is actually at a local body shop at the moment for a quote on the job, so I'll let you know what they say tomorrow hopefully.
  6. I had to have the AA out a week and a bit ago when I was on holiday because my starter motor went. I was really impressed how quickly the chap arrived (about 15 mins) and also the fact that he managed to do a tempory rebuild of my written off starter motor in the middle of a camping field such that it could get me going again. However, a couple of days later I noticed that my offside wing was sitting noticably proud of the door when looking down the side of the car. I looked further and saw that the car had obviously been jacked up 'on' the seam where the wing joins to the floor pan. The seam is now completely bent over, and the panels underneath are badly dented which has pushed the whole wing out of alignment. I phoned the AA this morning (it seems crazy but it's the first chance I've had since) and they are sending a claim form, but I don't know whether I'll get anywhere as I can't see how I can really prove that it was the AA chap that did it. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any ideas of how I could prove it was the AA chap that did it? (I know myself it was definitly him as it hasn't always been like that, I've never jacked it up myself, and the only other people that have are Zedworld, who I'm failrly sure will know how to do it without causing damage!)
  7. so what are the 'holes'?
  8. familiar site, just looks a lot shinier than mine
  9. You haven't got any more pics of that black Z32 have you? Looks like it has chromed/polished OEM wheels like I want to get.
  10. You've got to remember that top gear is an entertainment show, and it wouldn't be very entertaining if one car thrashed the others in every challenge (apart from for us of course:)), hence Hammond spun off on the track! The ice race wasn't exactly to be taken seriously, so in my book, the Zed scored on all accounts :D
  11. I'd potentially be up for something, but if it's a Sunday then it'll depends where and when as the earliest I could leave (Shropshire) would be about 12ish, i.e. earliest I could get to Stafford would be about 1pm. Phill
  12. What was with the rally driving? Half of it looked real and half looked really badly computer generated
  13. Thanks Jeff, that would be great.
  14. Hi Jeff, thanks for that. You don't have any pictures of this stuff do you? I'm always a bit nervous about doing something non-standard and would like to be sure what it'll look like!
  15. Works out at an effective 29mpg What sort of driving is that? Any Zed in good condition should do that driven carefully on a motorway.
  16. Is it me or is that very low at the back for stock suspension? Could fit in with it being tired/damaged.
  17. I've done over 400 miles on one tank in mine (TT). It's also very easy to empty the tank in 200 miles though!
  18. Thanks Vijay, very helpful.
  19. Thanks Paul, you don't have a link to a specific product do you? Really? That would be great if they are, do you know where from? It's not the finish of the trim that's the main problem, it's the fact that it's not sitting flush round the corners. I did do my front windscreen trims and targa trims with Plastidip, and I was going to do this one, but I didn't bother as I really just need a new one. Thanks though.
  20. My rear window trim seal has kind of pealed up at the corners (as below). It's been like it ever since I got the car 6 months or so ago. I've been told that the seals are no longer available new, and a second hand one is likely to be brittle and break if I tried to remove and fit it. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks, Phill
  21. EDIT: 1 minute too late! turned them into jpegs:
  22. Welcome chap. I guess I'm reasonably close to you. What's your new car like?
  23. Sounds to me like only one of the power feeds are connected (you need both the permanent battery feed and the ignition one). Is it the original CD player? Sometimes different manufacturers move the pins around slightly.
  24. So wasn't written off then? Or have you had to buy it back? Either way, great news that it's getting all sorted.
  25. right click on desktop > New > Shortcut > type in web address in location box > click Next. If you want to change the icon, right click on shortcut > Properties > change icon. That's with Windows XP though, I don't know about Vista, but would have thought it was similar.
