  1. I'm based in Wem at the moment, but work in Shrewsbury. My Zed is very much on the road, but I don't use it for getting to work, save it mainly for the weekends. What are you doing to yours while off the road?
  2. Yep, that was definitely the one I saw. Are you out and about in a Zed at the moment? What should I look out for?
  3. Think I saw this one a couple of weeks ago driving through Harlscott.
  4. I'm sure it works out more economical in practice as it takes away the temptation to boot it every few minutes as something goes to overtake you! (well it does for me anyway)
  5. Nice to see a man not ashamed to be driving a Nissan!
  6. 235bhp is a lot considering his weight advantage
  7. look good, they match in nicely with your high contrast interior
  8. Yeah, please someone buy it as an act of charity, and turn it back into a nice car!
  9. yeah, I personally think they'd look good, would tie in nicely.
  10. I prefer the surrounds in those pictures, as has already been said, they give it a bit of something without being overstated. However I'd want to see them in context with the rest of the interior before deciding if they were mine.
  11. You said you were going for the rat look didn't you... (I'm a bit confused, but hey, as long as it's all working for you now!)
  12. anyone tried using bluetac?! It looks/feels remarkably similar to the meguiars clay I bought the other day.
  13. You're probably fed up of people saying it by now, but that is really really nice! Nice and standard like mine, I only wish mine was as smart as yours looks in those pics! Looks absolutely mint.
  14. Why do you need to rebuild the door? As long as both switches (passenger and drivers) are plugged in, and the isolator switch is not on, then the window should work. The door doesn't have to be together just to have the switch plugged in to the wires.
  15. I'm pretty sure that if you've disconnected the switch on the drivers door then the passenger window won't work, even from it's own switch.
  16. Thanks for the advice chaps. I bought the clay kit from Halfords (Meguiars) this weekend and did the car with it, and then keeping the car in the shade this time I had another go at polishing, and it worked far better this time. Don't know if it was the claying or the lack of heat that did it, probably a bit of both! Anyway, if anyone doesn't mind giving a bit more advise I've got another question now! - I'm quite pleased with the way the car's come up, apart from the fact that every microscopic (and not so microscopic) little stone chip has now been filled with polish, leaving white dots everywhere! Is there a way of removing this so it doesn't look like it's got some strange form of car acne?! Or have I got to put up with it until I can afford a respray?
  17. OK, why doesn't it say 'TWIN CAM PER BANK' then? (that would look good wouldn't it?!:wack:)
  18. That's a really nice comparison between the Zed and Supra - the Supra makes the Zed look like a Ferrari, and the Zed makes the Supra look like the batmobile! (no offense meant) I take it you like black?! (good choice)
  19. I've wondered for a while now if a black base with fairly bright blue pearl (not flake) would look good. You could try that, then I could have a look and know whether or not to do mine the same!
  20. I don't see the attraction with 99 spec headlights. They look cheap and plasticy to me, much prefer the normal/older ones.
  21. 'Fairgentleman' would sound gay! (if you're a male owner). I'm not keen on fairlady either though, sounds like a Rolls Royce or something, not a sports car.
  22. The bonnet being hot would make sense, although I always though it would be the other way round - being more difficult on a cold panel because the polish wouldn't dry as well. I'll have to give a go then when it's cold. Stupid question - how do you clay? and can you point me in the direction of the necessary materials? Thanks, Phill
  23. from a perfectionists point of view can imagine the whole rat look thing could be quite liberating, not having to fret about any spec of rust or hint of a bubble appearing. I'm not about to go out and get/create one though!
  24. Is there any reason why I should have real trouble buffing off polish from my bonnet, but no trouble at all buffing it off the wings and boot lid (they're just the randoms areas I've tried so far)? Anyone experienced anything like this? Phill
