clear wing repeater indicators.
As Si aid they are all the same, are MOT compliant and take just a few minutes to fit even with the slight ( very slight) mod to the bulb holder with a stanley knife. Just so you understand they are imported into the UK by a single company who is based in the Midlands and then are sold through re- sellers you would be very surprised by the mark up on those and the clear corners and rear lights but I have said too much already  Jeff TT

Tapping sound from camshaft pulleys - urgent help needed 91 N/A
Do not start the engine again until repaired. Looks like the belt tensioner swing arm has seized, this does not mean new replacement though they can be refurbished at a fraction of the cost of new. Jeff TT

Car acting odd after being parked over night
Ok that explains why the weird codes, Nissan ScanTech is OBDII Generic and primary for cars such as Maxima A32 and Nissan VQ engine range such as the 350z and late Gloria Ultima HY33 Generic codes on OBD ll are notoriously indetermined and often misleading despite the fact they should be super accurate, now add canbus technology it make it worse, plugged in to a non OBD ll car is odd out of interest what version you using? presume your also using Consult adaptor? Good explaination here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contract_for_difference The problem as I see it for any new or amatuer investors in such activity is the hundreds of avenue`s the professionals use to hide/cover/ fake/ deceive/ charm / rip off ( choose applicable) can use to lure you in. The use of phrases that most people do not know or even can under stand fully when its explained, the original use of contacted buying based on future rises was simply "Tax Avoidance". This was when the trading was between professional bodies and trading was based on non transferred assets or shares, this fell out side the normal tax that profit attracts ( capital gains) as no actual exchange of contact ownership occurs. Bit like selling your house to yourself no tax on the profit because you have not gained from the sale except taken out a larger mortgage ( same as remortgaging to build an extension)) However if you acted for yourself you can charge fee`s admin costs and loan repayment costs, all of which will fall under the umbrella of a non advantage contact and ....no tax see the deal was not a deal it was a tax free money generator Early trading in this sense was subject to huge fraud in the industry and many key brokers and organisations saw fit to use it to their advantage and was a basis for "insider trading" and gave the good traders bad names and the bad traders a hiding place! eventually the industry cleaned its act up by imposing sever penalties and regulated the way "contacts" are written and it has provided a usable method for the industry to use it as a market stabilising tool as well as profit making, having said that the main problem that still exists is the contacts are written against a single market figure that is governed by the rate adjuster known as "Libor" this rate determines the generated margins, profit and loss liability, and given that in recent times some of the major banks have been accused and found guilt of manipulating the "Libor" figure to suit themselves it has moral and ethical concerns. Of course above is my own view based on my readings into it and do not to have any professional knowledge of the system but you will always come across people are making great gains and those that are not in any form of stock market "betting" this particular method "appears" low risk and may be worth a punt who knows? but sure is a way of adding some extra cash to the brokers new Posche fund . Car acting odd after being parked over night
Sounds like the very common problem of injector connection that has become injector high resistance, almost all injector failures are sudden and can be after a long shutdown or even overnight, check first the lowest cylinder (6) the injector should read around 14 ohms any higher than 20 ohms and it will cause issues ( ecu output is effected) and open circuit means its toast, if so get your dremel out and swap it over with a good known one. What's a good clutch?
Puck clutch`s can sufffer from shudder, especially the 3 puck ones however a 6 puck are so much better but never as smooth as a full face clutch plate, RPS Max have been around a long time but do have heavy feel to them not awful though, the hydraulics need to be up to scratch though and often the pedal adjustment will be required or the bit point will be very low. Really P***ed
Oh before you fall on your sword can I ask a few questions fist 1) Does it feel like a misfire when running or running ok? 2) Was the engine cold when you did the test? 3) Does the smoke from the exhaust get worse under boost or is it tick-over smoke? 4) Were the plugs all removed at the same time? 5) Was the throttle held open when the test was done? 6) was the battery fully charged before hand 7) Was the no 6 plug wet or oily? Compression tests can be a very good way of seeing some of what`s going on with the engine, however, despite the very low no 6 figure it certainly does not tell you everything, getting the test wrong can also give weird figures, such as no 6 showing low as its usually the last one to be done and the battery cranking speed getting slower especially if the plugs were not all taken out at the same time, the throttle not been held open is another one that will show mixed cylinder figures, the engine temp is very important as I have known to zeds that will have a low cylinder when cold but comes up to the same as the other cylinders when warmed up ( tends to feel like a miss when cold though) Of course non of my questions will be the completely the answer to such a low no 6 cylinder but all may not be lost, what you have to consider also is having a leak down test, this is better at providing detail with rings, inlet and exhaust valves, you could have a chipped valve? finally if you do have a damaged cylinder again all not lost in terms of repair, I guess time scale and facilities is more the problem for you. Quick question about timing marks
If your talking about the sprocket markings against the back plate and the crank mark against the oil pump case mark just remember the cams turn at half speed to the crank, so two turns of the crank to one turn of the cam sprockets. However if your talking about all five markings lining up and the belt markings lining up again at the same time, then forget it, will be hundreds of turns maybe even thousands. Jeff TT

What's a good clutch?
Below are some pics of a couple of clutch options we supply or supply and fit, manufactured for us in the UK to our own specifications so no import duty and no silly delivery times, all brand new, no remanufactured items here. The first two pictures are of a 25% upgrade item mainly used for mild boost and chip upgrades. The paddle clutch is available in 5 or 6 puck depending upon spec required, The clutch cover features upgrade fingers and steel inserts, the plate has progressive double shock springs which makes this paddle clutch feel almost stock unlike others which end up been like an on/off switch the friction material is stable to very high temps and load and would be fine for your application. Matching lightened flywheels available from UK stock too. Jeff TT Ideal time to fit a one piece propshaft at the same time....... (Twin Turbo Auto shaft shown)

Timing belt help and advise
Ok firstly you will get the ringing of "Genuine Nissan cambelt" from many here myself included, this is for many reasons and the saving is so small anyway, Nissan belt is an exact fit, any other belt is a copy of the original even though Gates been a well known and trusted company. Ok that out of the way, leave the cam sprockets where they are provided they are all lined up on the belt markings, move the crank ( 27mm bolts ) slightly to line up the bottom belt mark with the crank pulley dot ( note: its is a punched dot not the white mark sometimes next to it) this will line up the belt timing to the crank and cams, do not worry about the back plate marks they are not completely accurate. The tensioner issue should have been sorted by loosening the 3 x 12mm bolts and angling the unit back to give more belt free play, maybe need to look at that again be sure it is free to swing back enough, there again the Gates belt maybe just a little tighter than a genuine one. Top speed with roof off??
Have to disagree, have spent more time in various zeds than most and speeds up to 60 mph the effect of them been up is worse, after this speed the typical combinations of engine exhaust and road noise make the buffeting noise inconsequential, what`s more after been on a 120 miles journey down the M6 from Blackpool with the roof out at consistent motorway speed, when we finally stopped at the toll booth on the M6 toll our ears were in a state of shut down, everything sounded muffled and dull, never subjected myself to that again!! my view is if you have not got them do not bother fitting them, I soon after disabled mine and was much happier. 100% agree the seat belt flapping thing if no passenger on board, the madness for me was Lynda`s BMW 330 csi convertible with a small wind deflector behind the seats completely buffet free even at motorway speeds, no flapping belts BUT take this little deflector thing out the back and oh my gosh no conversation possible with the passenger and ear bleeding buffeting, the deflector was a £250 option which I think should of been fitted as standard! Jeff TT
-
Top speed with roof off??
In my experience the pop up deflectors make it worse! anyone who has them fitted next time you drive with the targa`s out try pulling the deflector down whilst driving with just your finger so not to make any additional buffeting and the noise gets less.:excl: Jeff TT

Abs question
All turbo models have ABS but some na models do not, easiest way to check is at the master cylinder, abs models have a two pipe master cylinder non abs have a four pipe cylinder. Jeff TT

Floor pans are not normally that bad but unless its a large part its quicker to just fit a new section made up from fresh metal, and don`t have full breakers any more they use up too much space that can be used for customers cars!! Jeff TT

Be assured nothing will fold up, nor will the subframe fixing be any problem, been involved with welding repairs on zeds for years and even the corrosion weaken them to a point that heh welder would need to take any bracing prevention. To prove a point remember the repair to this: and the donor car this: With the sill, rear quarter and return into the pillar removed no bracing needed and nothing moved. Jeff TT
