  1. Biggest Classic Car event of the Iberian Peninsula and the entrance fee is from only 5 Euro`s, why on earth is everything so expensive in the UK, makes no sense when other countries can hold events with out shafting the public to attend. Anyhow you can guess where I will be in ten days time whoop ,whoop !! get my 5 Euro`s ready !! Jeff
  2. Exactly. Jeff - - - Updated - - -
  3. Only if the customer plays by the same rules..... Jeff
  4. Agree, agree, the trader has set themselves up to supply a service and rightly so they have the responsibility for that, however the point I was trying to make is bad trader + good customer = not good good trader + bad customer = not fair. A trader does not want to be thought of as been bad, but will hopefully try and resolve any issue`s, however a bad customer will never admit to any wrong doing end of, and they do exis,t honestly they do, just stick around long enough with your life in their hands and you will see. Jeff
  5. Ha ha guess what I changed the pads on yesterday...... a flipping Ford!! Apologise and correcting now! Jeff Update spelling sorted
  6. Ok a good few views there with only Mondo touching on it been a two ways street as such, although I will take you to task on one point Mondeo, your suggestion that the ONLY reason a bad revue would occur is if a trader did something wrong, I don`t agree bad traders exist of course but so do bad customers!!! that needs address as well. The point I was making above that looked in jest was actually quite serious and one that of course the forum has to bear in mind and has done in the past, that been, a bad revue of an otherwise good trader can cause real damage to that traders ability to continue. Now if the trader is working from home, doing what ever he is as a "second" income and his mortgage and kids food table is safe that`s another deal, but consider this, many tax paying traders are one man operations who have taken the plunge to work for themselves and often at some great expense to their home life and risking a lot to build their chosen business. ( not the one`s doing the same but signing on as well ( you know who you are) ) So with that in mind a badly thought out review or even and dare I say it a less than true full opinion that becomes a review could easily finish a trader especially as the Chinese whispers is inevitable, meanwhile the complainant / reviewer goes merrily to work the next day to punch in at his or her salary job in the secure knowledge that at the end of the month the bills are getting paid the mortgage is getting paid and the kids are fed, the trader who has been vilified may not be so lucky. Of course the argument could be made that good review will help build a new business and I cannot disagree with that except to say a hundred thumbs up will never beat that one thumbs down from an apparent disgruntled customer who tells the world, of course there are bad trader`s all of the place least not the 300zx scene but is the forum the best place to deal with it? not sure. Containing the issue is not possible by the forum with rules or no rules because we live in a social media world of 2015 and it will just carry on to the wider audience be it via other forums or many of the other Face book based clubs and forums non of which can be controlled by the committee here. You all know who I am and that for near on 17 years I enjoyed good and bad times as Zedworld and of the bad times ( thankfully few ) it was this kind if thing that got me down the most, not the working till midnight, not the johnny come lately`s copying everything we did ( you know how you are !) or even the battle to build and keep a small business profitable amidst the ocean of taxation, rents and VAT no it was the bad mouthing, so I am not calling them review because they are often anything but, they were just bad mouthing because its fairy automonous from behind a keyboard, what happens the little cliques and circles of friends that always create themselves in clubs and forums circle like wolves and soon people have opinion`s that are not even their own having never even used that trader......thin end of the wedge my friends, oh and the irony is not lost on me one bit as to who the original poster of this thread was. Jeff
  7. Think it has been tried and did not work out, one thing though not been tried is a customer quality rating, this to help traders decide on what jobs to take on and maybe warn other traders of bad payers, messer`s, liars, cheats, bullies, swindlers, tricksters, fraudster`s and general know it alls. ( and there are some in any car club) can see it would be a massive flame war!! Jeff
  8. Funky if you go direct to the caliper so eliminating the small section of hard brake line that is originally in the caliper they will fit. Jeff
  9. Battery connection, remove clean refit, also check earth. Jeff
  10. well weird not doing it now, when I was posting I was typing away and like it was in invisible ink (lol) thinking now it maybe Google Chrome having a bad day, rebooted and seems ok?? Jeff
  11. Anyone getting the missing text or white on white occasionally, have to close forum and reload. Jeff
  12. UK bumper without fog lights but with side repeaters as below. Jeff ATTACH=CONFIG]91209[/ATTACH]
  13. Yes they and companies like Jaguar had the same issue with an internal engine coating called Nikasil, unfortunately high sulphur petrol like in the US ate it away and ruined the engines prematurely, lucky it was discovered early in production and most engines were replaced free of charge. Nice Z3 real roadster with plenty of go. Jeff
  14. Yes seen a lot on the beemer forums about changing the manifolds over, great trick, strong reliable engine, just fit BMW service parts is the key. Jeff
  15. Loving that !!! Jeff
  16. Here are the pump pictures Jeff
  17. Ok not mine but helping out a local Portuguese owner from the BMW forum in pt, originally recovered from Lisbon with suspected alternator failure ( charge light on ) as soon as I drove it from the recovery truck knew it was more, no power steering ( at all!) no charge ( triggering abs fail). Quick check around and soon found as suspected a missing drive belt, the one that ran the alternator and p/s pump, nice and easy..... but wait the belt was still there and intact but not on the pulleys?? why would a perfectly good belt come off with auto adjusters? soon found the water pump seized, well in a fashion. On the 2.8 engine access is real easy, fan off rad shroud off and your there, so nice to have space after 17 years of knuckle scrapping on zeds!! lol so as you will see in the pictures the pump has literally fallen apart, destroying the impeller in the process. The pump housing inside has taken a beating too but not terminal at least, the real question is why had it failed so spectacularly, guess you will never know for sure, the pump was not original and suspect this to be the most likely cause as its not genuine or even a nice oem one, maybe just poor quality? Seems a common problem on the Bmw forums with the 2.8 engine, I have asked if the owner heard anything and seems he did but carried on in an attempt to get home, it must of sounded like a a 1960`s taxi with all that going on!! Jeff
  18. Missed the end of it last year so want to see it all this year. Jeff
  19. So excited just under 4 weeks till the Rallye Casinos do Algarve, check out the promo video below from some of last year`s clips, on the TV and local news each day now in the run up to it. Still working out which stages to camp out at and defo the main pits at the beginning and end will be a must. Jeff
  20. Interesting short read: http://www.revotechnik.com/support/technical/rolling-roads-explained So basically peak figures are just pub talk and as I have always advocated how a car drives on the road is more important. There are so many variables it is near impossible to repeat accurately power runs from one day to another, let alone from two identical cars at the same time and this is those big tuning companies using high end expensive kit that try and address the short comings in rolling road shoot out days, it is no wonder low end cheap systems with basic set ups are pretty much a waste of time, be careful guys most of the print outs seems to be made of snake oil.... Jeff
  21. I know tell me about it, having trouble remembering about when I bought my first zed in 1997 and thinking how complicated it looked ! ha ha Mad thing was I looked at UK spec one at the time for £24k at a Nissan garage and then saw the one I bought at another garage which was an import for £7k!! there was a huge difference in price then between the two as "grey imports" were so misunderstood then.
