What is the best oil for my upgrade engine
Agree, no need to go fully synthetic, a good branded semi -synthetic will be fine and keep to strict oil change schedule, 3 to 5 thousand miles max. Jeff

"Why is my car on fire?" and other novice mechanic questions
It is the location key for the cas unit, the above pulleys are the later designed vvt, the springs are there to load the pulley gear so you don't get cam rattle / shudder Jeff

Japspeed no longer doing exhausts?
Unfortunately as I mentioned above they are no longer supplying exhausts for the 300zx and 2fast2 cool is the same company, they share the same address. Jeff

Japspeed no longer doing exhausts?
Had a recent conversation with their trade sales manager and he told me officially they are no longer stocking certain lines that are no longer viable, the 300zx exhausts is one of them, the suspension items will not be restocked either. Jeff

Bits and Pieces
As a bench mark we used to sell coil packs for £5 each and injectors for £35 as a business they were of course warranted. As an individual without warranty then the could packs may just help some one our and the injectors could make some cash provided you have no breakages when removing them. Jeff

Don't always give up on obsolete stock.
The odd thing is, over the years we got many not available replies from Nissan UK, so then went to factory search in Japan to be told yes obsolete. Then by some miracle some months later they are been manufactured again, the Nissan part ordering and search system is not perfect, I also thing lazy dealers some time`s just say something is not available because there is not enough in it for them. Out of the woodwork
A grossly misunderstood car by many, I mean 12 years off the road for a knock sensor fault, he would be crushed to know it can be circumvented in around one minute, madness how many zeds are tucked away due to a minor fault that was considered a game ender at the time. Jeff

HELP - Exhaust smoke from one side only
When revving at idle, or driving it should be smooth without any shuddering, vibration or shake, something is wrong, could be a simple spark plug change required or a bad connection at coil pack, ptu, injector etc. Best bet is to get it down to Jimmer at PowerZed for some expert advise and diagnostic, may seem a costly trip but believe me in the long term it will be money in the bank, putting up with or using a zed not running correctly is both unrewarding and can lead to further damage later. Jeff

HID Kit
Hiy a buddy, well the technology has improved on the one`s on e-bay these days, was not uncommon for failures in the earlier days they were available so your small usage could bear that out. You might find by swapping the ballasts from left to right if it the bulb or the ballast, that way you could just purchase what is needed, having said that the kits are so damn cheap these days here is links to some. Jeff Cheap or what !! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit-H1-H3-H4-H7-H11-5000k-6000k-10000k-UK-Stock-Free-P-P-/271515192686?var=&hash=item3f37910d6e:m:m6P7dnRJkNaWix410MorRZw http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUNWOIF-55W-HID-Xenon-Conversion-KIT-H1-H3-H7-H8-H9-H11-H4-3-4300K-6000K-8000K-/281413571138?var=&hash=item41858e5242:m:mqIHFWn80x-oJMCnQ_qukSw

Car fires are not nice !
Good friend in the UK sent me a couple of pics yesterday, his son and mate had been invited to a car test day at a local dealer and whilst on a test drive this happened !! No one hurt thankfully but sad end for the car, they said it went from a small lick of flame at the rear to full inferno in a matter of one minute, was a gonna even if you had am extinguisher.. Jeff

Where can I get a new prop shaft centre bearing?
If you send him your old one that is correct, that will make it easier rather than sourcing the flanges from two cars. Jeff

New problem....LOL
You know when asking for tech advise on problems you really need to cover the basics before hand or else it leads everyone up the garden path as such, throttle sticking !! :headvswal school boy error not noticing that one to be honest. Oh and here is a link for an easier way to read the codes at the diagnostic port on the drivers side above the bonnet pull handle, using a paper clip, follow link down to the correct point. https://z32.wikispaces.com/ECU+Diagnostics Jeff

Hi im having a problem after delete the fuel control unit
Two things come to mind, the bigger pump may require larger cables if the motor is drawing more current, secondly and equally as likely, the white cable is the earth, if this is a poor connection where you picked up the earth connection it will draw more current than normal, check the connections.
