  1. Don`t worry Stella with traction control. abs and the most important DSC (dynamic stability control) as standard on your Beemer you will ok. Jeff
  2. Given that 50% of the time the drop link will snap when trying to loosen them, your better off replacing the whole lot (see below) and at £20 all in Ebay is your best bet. Jeff TT
  3. Do not know full story of what went before but one thing I do know is the written word can be read in different ways, punctuation and inflextion is subject to the writers skills and the understanding of those by the reader. Remember the writer can never know the skill set of the reader and if his own words have been well enough presented to match those and the subject in hand. When we talk face to face there is the additional face and body movements that give us the full picture, also how something is said, soft, loud, indifferent, compassionate....the list goes on, with this in mind grievances are always subject to misunderstandings, top job for apologising and setting it all straight. (By the way I was writting that calmly and with no ranting...) Jeff
  4. What type of tool you using? I normally use a 1/2inch ratchet that has an extendable handle and they always come undone, then thats on a two post ramp standing up. Jeff TT
  5. Could be a connection issue on the injector or the injector itself going open circuit when hot although that would be rare, what you need to do is test the injector resistance with a test meter when the fault is happening, it could be an ecu output issue too. Have you actually checked for spark at that cylinder, ie coil pack with spark plug lying on the engine to see if it is sparking, the ptu can fail on individal cylinders when hot Jeff TT
  6. Ok can see you need some help here, seen as I am usually in Portugal a couple of times a year pity they have not coincided with this problem, Email me your contact details here: jeff@zedworld.co.uk I will put a comprehensive talk through with photo`s etc and hopefully we can get you sorted, it will take a few days to put this together so soon as I have your email we can get started. Jeff TT
  7. Does the lockout require a hard reset or does it reset itself after a small while? Does the problem occur ar random or when using the hot water Does the pressue gauge show a good reading ( between 1 and 2 bar) This boiler has a tendancy to lockout when using hot water for several reasons and tracing what it is can be costly if you follow the usual plumbers method of changing parts until it works,if you do use a repair guy get a dedicated heating engineer to take a look. Jeff
  8. Yes I know, no names but many years ago popped in on a forum member who had bought a set of brake discs from us, he had fitted them and was just refitting the wheels when I arrived, could not believe that he had fully covered the face of the discs with copper slip as he thought it would stop them squeeling!!!! Five minutes later and he would of been driving down the road, can see the first stop junction would have been a challenge! Jeff TT
  9. Al little knowledge can be dangerous, a well known saying that is proven over and over, see below, the amount of copper slip that had been applied to the release bearing in this already oily gearbox ( crank seal leaking) the bearing is designed to not need any amount of lubricant on the front face, this is stationary once it makes contact with the pressure cover fingers, the internal ball bearings then are the rotating point, of course the trouble this causes is it gets up onto the clutch face, see in the second pic the throw out lines of copper slip..... be careful if in doubt always ask! Jeff TT
  10. The rad cap supplied with alloy rads are generally not as good at sealing as the Nissan one, if you used the one with the rad swap it for the Niissan one. Jeff TT
  11. Been a few ideas, hopefully what ever happens it cannot be as bad as the awful "Ford Probe" once called the "New Capri" yeh right. Jeff TT
  12. £21,500 ebay item number 290614285759   Jeff TT
  13. Ford mk1 escort mexico on ebay classified for £12,595 Item number: 230689341348 have a clear memory of sitting on my Raleigh Chopper with my mates and seeing one of these pull out of a car park sideways! as he snaked down the road me and my mates were awe struck and this one looks mint. Sure its a reminising thing but I cannot get the thought out of my head that if Ford were to reproduce the Mexico, the R2000 etc. with new shells that look the very same but with modern mechanics and electronics they would go like hot cakes! Jeff TT
