  1. On a serious note, when raising boost on your zed engine without the set up been checked and adjusted accordingly its like playing poker blind folded. At best you will not get the full benefit at worse you could damage your engine....be careful. Jeff TT
  2. Would leave us much to do then though would it..... Jeff TT
  3. Engine condition check Fault code check Timing check Boost leak check TPS check Throttle balance check Service level oil, fuel, air
  4. How odd, thats the picture he has previously used on ebay with the suggestion that it is him, so to add to the ongoing deception then? Yes take your point on the SWZ not been in business any longer, however the pictures and address he uses are of SWZ... he is either in business as SWZ or not, cannot have it both ways in my view, as far as been a private individual then think rent, tax, rates, insurance etc. leaves other business at a disadvantage when customers compare prices. Jeff TT
  5. Ah yes this one .............................................
  6. E-bays own policy is designed to stop this.....ahem! Shill bidding is when sellers—or someone they know—place a bid on their item to drive the price up. This is called artificial bidding. Often the people placing bids have certain information about the seller's item that other shoppers aren't aware of. To make sure no one gets an unfair advantage, shill bidding is prohibited on eBay. People who know the seller – such as family members, flatmates, or employees – can't bid on that seller's items, but they can use options like Buy It Now that don't involve bidding. Sellers with employees have to make sure their staff are aware of this policy and what the consequences are for breaking the rules.
  7. Yes , kind of proves my point eh? he has some more ebay id`s that pop up now and then. Jeff TT
  8. Not really having a go at Andy personally but then he is in business and should be on top of stuff like this, e-bay is a great tool for businesses to use that do not have a shop. Distance selling rules apply to ebay sales and misdescribing sale items by either text or photo`s is bad practise, only needs a note to explain its a library pic. Jeff TT
  9. So the ebayer below, Zeaston 2001 sells Zparts Next a snap shot of their feedback sold an ecu to a buyer lockinggarageservices. So we can see lockinggarageservices also deal in Zparts But here in their feedback Zeaston 2001 purchases a range rover leather seat. So nothing wrong, well of course the two ebayers are the same person closer look at the feedback suggests the purpose is to bid up auction prices, stop parts been sold too cheaply if not enough bidders, or maybe build good feed back. Either way this is is against E-bay rules let alone been dodgy and misleading but worst of all its is a member on here. :nono: Jeff TT
  10. Yes UK spec!!! Andy should have plenty of pics to use though, could confuse a buyer not in the know. Jeff TT
  11. Heads up, even some "specialists Z breakers" still get it wrong  300ZX Z32 (1990-95). NON TURBO ENGINE MANAGEMENT ECU http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300ZX-Z32-1990-95-NON-TURBO-ENGINE-MANAGEMENT-ECU-/380365296076?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588f89d1cc Jeff TT
  12. The crudy state of the connector may well be all of the problem, get some WD40 in there and then scrape around with a stanley blade. Jeff TT
  13. Nice!!! you got the brown tint windows too they were the dogs then eh? funny how we moved onto zeds that have rubber spoilers on the back too Jeff
  14. Yes tell me about it, we hardly use our home telephone in fact think the last bill had about £2.50 worth of calls, our mobiles are free and we get good signals so seems silly to use the home phone, costing us around the £40 mark just to get slow broadband.....arghhh Jeff
  15. Blimey, remember dial up days, now that was fun, connect to a heavy web site and you could go have a shower and get changed whist it loaded, all from a penny a minute with Freeserve. Jeff
  16. You can do it matey I have faith in you, the connector clip maybe still in place holding it down, move the cable loom above it over a bit to see it better. Jeff
  17. Sure I remember seeing that one of its new owners took the interior out to fund other work!! Jeff TT
  18. Now that is impressive No fraid not nor BT Infinity service Still amazes me we are so behind, places like Malasia have fibre optics running 200 Mbs and parts of Asia are talking of a 1000 Mbs by 2015!! Jeff
  19. Not my actual Capri`s below but a decent representation, with the exception of the first one my was white with a Vinyl roof it was an M.reg (1974 ) so it was only 3 years old and was I the man in my town....well I thought I was! even came with alloyed wheels  as my Mom would say Jeff TT 1.6GT MK l face uplift 3.0 litre Mk 2 2.8i Also had a cherry red 2.0 ghia Mk 3 and a brown with tan roof 1.6 Mk 3 My Dads first Capri Mk 1 face uplift 1.6 l (auto) albeit his had the obligatory black vinyl roof My dads second Capri a 1.6 L Mk 3
  20. The hissing noise from the air regulator and balancer bar will be due to the AAV not opening at the base idle screw section, this increases the air flow ( and sound ) through the air regulator. I have a patch lead made up that plugs into the yellow connector on the top of the AAV with cables long leads for testing with a meter or to connect direct to the battery, if you do this with the engine running the revs should speed right up, if not the AAV solenoid is toast, you could always run a test lead power (fused ) to the aav cable, as I said the actual switching would still be done on the neutral / earth side, might be a quicker way than looking for the actual fault. Jeff TT
  21. This is the best BT can offer me in 2011, the exchange is only 3 miles away, I live in a rural setting, the village is less than 2 miles long and 2 miles wide, not really a high traffic area.......... BT visited a few weeks ago to change the line pair over from a near by connection box due to a hum on the line defo seems slower than before with the hum! that said the engineer mentioned that the overhead copper cables were approx 30 years old and no amount of new technology in the exchange can circumvent that. Jeff TT
  22. Had a whole series of Capri`s including my favourite a Mk ll 3.0 Ghia Auto in silver with a black Vinyl roof, I ended my Capri spree with a first generation 2.8i Blue over silver with a four speed box and did not get on well at all with it constantly hitting the very low slung exhaust on the road, goodness knows how you would get on today with speed bump mania, I changed it for a Datsun 280 zx straight six with such luxuries as central locking and electric windows Ahem ... Jeff TT
  23. No, will only reset an old code, if there is a continued fault with the det circuit it will stay. Jeff TT
  24. Do not what happened there Tony, would not load for me either, the links were there in edit mode, just saved again and they popped up...strange. Jeff When you hear of barn finds of rare and exotic cars I always wonder how but can understand they are hidden from general view but mostly these closed down dealerships are real prominent....just got to find a Ford dealer with a mint 3.0 Ghia Capri ..... oh dear reminiscing now. Jeff TT
  25. With a few similar threads recently about dealerships closed down in the US I was surprised when driving recently through my old town where I grew up (late 70`s) to see what was the main Rover dealership in the day closed down and looking a bit sad. But a double look prompted me to go back and take a few pics, an amazing frozen in time situation, how does this happen? and for those not old enough to know the last pic is of a Marina, looked as brand new condition through the glass but dusty, a bit of an icon of the day.
