  1. Assumption here is that this is a road car and for road use - I personally would refresh the Zed's braking system and upgrade the pads or disks. If I had the cash to go for a major upgrade, I would make absolute certain that it was an upgrade which either works on the same ABS system as the Zed or was specifically designed to work on it (Brembo, Stillen, K-sport etc) Under no circumstance would I consider removing the ABS system on a road car. ABS is there for a reason. As Stenorth has mentioned, I would hate to be in an accident facing the liabilities if I had removed it.

Hi Trish - This and Z-Driver in the US are the only 2 that I log onto. Z-Driver is tiny. If I was spending as much time on another number of clubs, I dont think I'd be able to do anything else. Bloody addictive. First thing in the morning and last thing at night. :o We might have to start another one called ZA - Zedaholics Anonymous! Colm
  3. Well Trish, that mini convoy might have an additional car this time around. Work permitting I'd love to head over.
  4. Let me know when you have it off. If I'm not sorted by then, I'll take it. The condition of mine, winds me up, so I don't know if I can last that long :)
  5. I really am interested then. Looks like its only 200miles or so from Holyhead - 2 hours in the Zed if traffic is heavy :hyper: Only joking - I won't behave like a wreckless foreigner.
  6. Guys, will all members that are heading to the event, bring their cars? I wouldn't mind heading across with mine but more importantly I see the list of members going, and I wouldn't mind having a look at the cars in the flesh so to speak, before I start ripping at mine. I want a widebody kit from my shortie, but I have never seen one in reality, just pics. Wouldn't mind hearing a HKS Hi-Power Silent exhaust if there is a member going with one too... Where in the UK is the event? My Geography is terrible so I suppose the real question is - how far is it from Holyhead and in which direction would I be heading - Cornwall, London, Newcastle, Manchester etc.. Cheers, Colm
  7. My comment was only to try to lighten the mood bud as it seemed to be getting heated.
  8. Best £20 I spent and I'm a miserable accountant by trade :xxx:
  9. I worked with a girl once who used to wear a lot of war paint. I mean it was caked onto her. I gave her a lift on one nice summers day, and bloody hell when she got out it was on the seat belt, then on the seat, everywhere. I can understand why there is protective covering on the passenger seats, doors everything in a car like the GTR.
  10. RIP Colin. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
  11. StellaZ is a very fair moderator who always acts in the best interests of this club and makes everybody adhere to the rules. So I just think respect needs to be shown to his comments as moderator, rather than getting into an argument. Remember the trouble with written comments are that they are one dimensional means of communication which can be read and interpreted in many different ways.

    what a shower of w***ers!!!!
  13. Will it be coming off before the end of April?
  14. I have this problem myself, so after reading this above, I went and checked the grommet. It is loose exactly in the position that you said, front towards the windscreen.
  15. That would be fantastic value Trish for any 3star hotel, not alone a 4 star Castle Hotel.
  16. Nice set of wheels on her. What are they?
  17. Hi Legrath, I was only giving the context of the quoted advantages, rather than promoting the Rota brand, as I know nothing about any wheel brands at this present point. Regarding your point about the drivetrain weight loss, I did read somewhere (how true it is, I don't know) that for every 1kg removed from the drivetrain it is equivalent to approximately 7hp in power performance increase. I cannot remember where I read it. Cheers, C
  18. “Losing 1kg of rotational weight (i.e. wheel weight) is the straightline performance equivalent to removing 10kg from your car” Came across it earlier on a website. 3 facts about lightweight wheels according to Rota Wheels UK Managing Director Julian Pearcey: A lightweight wheel doesn't simply increase straight line performance, when you hit the bumps and twisties they come into their own A lightweight wheel is much more eager to change direction Less unsprung weight means that your suspension won’t have to try and control 25kg of wheel and tyre, bouncing around in the arch I do know that the man selling the wheels, would obviously comment on the pro's of the product. Maybe its one of the first changes we should be considering before we start pulling the car apart in the interest of saving weight?
  19. Hi there, I love the manual TT slicktops and waited for months to buy one myself. I'll tell you the two main issues I encountered so that it may help you evaluate : Top links on the suspension in front - tyres wore very badly on the inside. Check this out as the wear issue can be more than tracking. I replaced mine with OEM parts which was not cheap, but then again nothing is with the Zed's Rear hicas & rear balls - the suspension was very giddy and unreliable. I had to replace these parts on mine and it felt like a different car afterwards. You may decide to eliminate the hicas altogether. The above problems resulted in the need for an all round tyre change but I knew that when I was buying in addition to deciding that I was going to do all round service to include cambelt and all the other belts. I'd also suggest reading the following link: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28072 Regarding price - anything from £2500 upwards depending on condition etc for a stock model. That one that you were looking at looks clean, tidy and looked after with low kms, so I'd expect to pay £3,500 plus.... but remember its a buyers market! (Thats of course, that it is genuine and it hasn't been crashed) And I am not aware of any limited edition 400bhp slicktops. They were standard specs and if anything were the cheaper model release back then, even though they are worth more now. Hope that helps you somewhat, and best of luck with whatever you decide. Colm
  20. Thanks Si - I'll look up Krych Trimming in Bristol. Unless of course I source a prinstine second hand one. Thats good value if its in good condition. Yeah mine is a jap import too and the wheel really looks bad. I need a black one, but I'll drop Paul a PM and see if he has any near perfect ones. Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. Regards, Colm
  21. every single word.... nope, thank god....
  22. I wouldn't want to get involved a quick drawn showdown down with you mr slickfingers :rofl:
