Hopefully somebody can help me here. The car starts first time everytime from cold. However after she is started, if I hit a bump, it looses power and switches itself off, leaving only the ignition lights, hicas etc on. It then can sometimes take an age to start again. Also if I don't hit a bump or if I approach 3000rpm the same thing can happen. It either switches off or looses power and splutters violently. If I accelerate hard, same thing happens. After it is being drove for a while and the engine has warmed up, it does it less frequently but it still occurs. The problem is it can occur at any stage, even when passing out other cars and that is a nightmare situation and bloody dangerous. I thought that this was a problem with the PTU as I had a series one, but I replaced this at the weekend with a series II and it made no difference whatsoever. I thought it may have been dirty petrol but the filters have just been changed. Any tips anybody or has anybody experienced these symptoms.

If I get up there I'll definitely go over to you guys to say hello. In fact its an excuse to take the wifes X5 (4.6is and it goes like a rocket !)

I was in the Morisson hotel on wednesday and through the window I saw a black z heading up Swifts Row. Was that you by any chance?

I bought it from a guy in the North and he had it advertised on Petrolheads at one stage so perhaps you saw it there. It was in the UK before that for a while, originally in yellow and then got the respray job that you see.

Getting this Z into good shape is taking time and bucket loads of cash and while it won't be prinstine in September, it will have a fair bit of tidying up and maintenance work done. I have the manual in PDF format on CD as I had purchased it through Ebay (innocently thinking that it was an original manual and not a CD). If NISSAN have no problem with us reproducing it, I'm sure that somehow, we can upload the content from the CD to a webaddress and put it into a downloadable format for our members. I don't know a lot about this type of thing but I'm sure that there is somebody out there, who is a club member, who does and can guide us or do it. Regards, Colm

Hi, My details are Number 7 on the list, but I am delighted to say that they have changed. I finally purchased a 300zx SWB manual twinturbo at the weekend and registered it on Monday before the VRT hike. Needs a bit of work but nothing that will break the bank. Cheers, Colm
