What wheels suit the Z best?
Have to agree with this ;) 5 spokes look best, espacially on a red Zed....... Kosei Senekas look pretty good too, as do the 7 spokers that Marshal has on his red Zed Richard :D

honking noise???
Yup, you've got "goose-honk" ;) always more apparent once you remove the airbox and fit an induction kit. There was a thread on TT.net about getting rid of it. Do a search on goosehonk and you may find it.... Otherwise just live with it - it's nothing serious :D Richard :smw:

Zed prices
No, mate... I went to see one there when I was looking but he only had a pearl white one. I was unsure about the colour when I saw it in the flesh so I didn't buy it. I still recommend Kent as his cars really are tip-top and he's a decent genuine guy - you'd know that :) I found my Zed a month or so later. richard

What's the size
I got a set of JBL 6x4 from Halfords for £50 and they sound good - way better than stock. I have JVC head unit running the rears through the stock amp and for a budget upgrade you can't go wrong.... Richard :)

Which exhaust
AFAIK, only cars after 1/8/1992 (ie K reg onwards) must have a cat fitted. Although if you do de-cat and your turbo rear seals are on their way out, don't be surprised to see a cloud of blue smoke following you every time you boot it...... Richard :)

Zed prices
Not all UK cars can command a premium for the reasons you have mentioned. I would also have bought a decent import over an average UK car as the prices are not that different. However if you can find a good condition, low mileage UK car with no rust then it will fetch more than an import as it is more rare and you can trace its history. I did say IF you can find one..... .....I did, but more by luck ;) (UK 1991, no rust and 63k miles with FSH when I bought it last year, all MOTs and I'm the 2nd owner  ) Richard :hyper:

How long's a piece of string????
This one's even worse..... A piece of string goes into a pub and says "A pint of lager please" The barman replies "Are you a piece of string?" "yes" the string replies "Well we can't serve you in here" says the barman. The string leaves and finds another pub down the road, he goes up to the bar and says "A pint of lager please" "Are you a piece of string?" asks the barman "Yes" "Well I'm sorry but I don't serve string here" After a few more rejections the string gets a bit pissed off, after all he just wants a pint. So he has an idea, he ruffles his hair a bit and goes into yet another pub. "Pint of lager please, barman" "Are you a bit of string?" replied the barman "No" said the string...... "I'm a frayed knot !"  Richard

Width of my alloys
Hi Cadpaul It should say on the wheel somewhere ?? J 17 (the ?? being the width). Stock J-spec wheels are 7.5 wide all round, but stock UK are 7.5 front and 8.5 rear. If you have 17s then they won't be stock sizes as they 16sw ere originally fitted. if you're runnung 8.5 wide then 255 is probably the widest tyre - say 255/40/17. But if they are only 8 inches wide then go 225/24/17 front and 245/40/17 rear. HTH Richard :smw:

Zed prices
I went into Camden Nissan in Aylesbury last week to look at a new 350Z. I got talking to the salesman (who I told I had no interest in PXing my Zed against one - as I would still want to keep it). He was saying that since the launch of the 350Z and the Top Gear whipping it got from the 300ZX, that there has been an increased interest in the 300ZX which has shown some fetching higher prices....... You wouldn't think that reading the for sale section here, though. LOL :nono: Richard :mac1:

Knight rider car for sale on Ebay?
Yup, "Cars of The Stars" in Keswick - brilliant place, I try and visit (wife's permission ;) ) everytime we go up north... The've already got one of the KITT Trans-Ams. The owner bought one of the cars off of David Hasslehoff (as D H kept a couple, personally after filming finished). Last time I was there they had set KITT up talking..... It was also on loan to The National Film exhibition Centre near Cambourne, Cornwall for a time last year. Richard

beaten by what...?
They are certainly fast cars but unless they are heavily modded or your Zed has problems there's very little in it 0-60 (both around 5.4-5.6) but the Zed is definately faster 0-100. The Pulsar will stuff a ZX in the corners, though..... Richard ;)

Is turbo lag really an issue on autos?
I read that too - on a US based 'site. Think it's something to do with the number of gear shifts required with the manual - perhaps loss of revs when coming off accellerator and onto clutch. In the auto, you just keep your foot to the floor, thus maintaining revs (and boost pressure) all the while. But TBH, I drove both versions when looking for my Zed and there was very little in it. I have an auto and for overtaking ability there is a fantastic sense of "urgency" when I press the accellerator to the floor ;) Richard :D

Black ZX in Stoke Mandeville
Saw a black imported Zed on the roundabout by Stoke Mandeville Hospital this afternoon around 5.40. Sorry I saw you too late to acknowledge your wave :o Richard ;)
