  1. Exactly - the jumped up little shite deserves it. Not only for causing serious injury to another person but also for wrecking such a fantastic car (no disrespect meant to the fella he injured). He's looking a bit slow and flabby these days too so let's see him dodge Mr Big in the showers now :D Richard :x:
  2. How old are you.......... ......and are you sure you want a ZX at those premiums ;) To protect my NCB only costs an extra £20 at the most :x: Richard :smw:
  3. Could this be the cause.......? ;) From many posts here, many members' cars give them stress :nelson: Richard :smw:
  4. Good luck Stella. I had a similar problem 3-4 years ago, my heart rate would also fly up to over 120 for no apparent reason and would not return to normal for ages, leaving me feel dizzy and dis-orientated. I had various blood tests, blood pressure and ECGs, nothing showed up at all. I saw a cardio specialist and had a 24 hour ECG which also came up with nothing - whilst my heart rate would race it was always regular and my bloos pressure was a healthy 120 over 80  I stopped drinking coffee and what do you know - no problems since. So I only take decaf now, don't drink diet coke anymore and all is well. Hopefully your problem is just as insignificant too mate. All the best Richard :smw:
  5. When I used my ZX as a daily driver, I had an accident that was my fault. Repairs to my car were around £1200 and the other car around £400. Luckily I had protected NCB - my premium before the accicent was £425-ish and at renewal a couple of months later it was still around £450 fully comp. I now pay Carole Nash around £255 on a classic policy for the ZX. I have my NCB on the daily driver (1999 Merc SLK230) and that costs just £300 with Admiral. So yes, protected NCB is worth it Richard :D
  6. Hi all, I actually got flashed by a speed camera this afternoon for no apparent reason  We were on the A40 heading toward Oxford having left Burford a couple of miles back. The road there is subject to national speed limit. We were doing 55-60mph following a black Skoda. As we approached the camera the Skoda braked (as every one seems to do when passing a camera, even if they are at or below the speed limit); I made a comment to Julia about "idiots braking for cameras must cause more accidents than the cameras are there to prevent." I had to slow down to just over 50mph, when the camera flashed twice?? I mean, I was going no more than 53mph in a 60 limit FFS  Richard :headvswal
  7. I did use mine (UK TT auto) everyday until winter 2004 - back then I was driving 50 miles each day on my round trip to work as well. And it never once missed a beat either  I then bought a Rav-4 for the winter (Chilterns often get ice/snow so not good for a ZX ;) ) and put the ZX on a classic policy... Julia now has the Rav and I have a Mercedes SLK daily driver. I still use the ZX for work once or twice a week whenever I can though. I usually take the ZX on holidays though; I do notice how much I've missed driving the ZX if I haven't driven it for a week. Richard :D
  8. The TRUE bible....... ......Testified :hyper: Amen Brother  Richard
  9. Oh yee of little faith ;) This place is a veritable font of knowledge on all manner of things :hyper: Richard
  10. Yep, that's also true - and Gio's car is stock apart from a Mongoose exhaust :nana2: Richard
  11. Should give a more positive and firm feel - rubber stretches when you press the pedal but with the steel braiding they don't. This means more pressure actually operates the brakes ;) Richard
  12. Looks like the silicon oil in the stock bushes. You will need to replace the bushes at some stage...... Richard
  13. Anything by Whitesnake - especially "Fool for your lovin" or "Judgement day" Run to You - Bryan Adams Rock & Roll Children - Dio Bring your daughter to the Slaughter - Iron Maiden The Unforgiven - Metallica Richard  :nana2:
  14. And it was our very own Gio's car as well!! Richard
  15. Where? :p Heh heh, I just had a "Funky Si" speak my mind moment there :nana2: And I REALLY fekking hate football........ Richard
  16. Don't care either - football is a shite game played by overpaid, under educated dipshits who no more deserve to be hero worshipped than Saddam Hussein!!! ;) The only good thing to come out of the world cup is the patriotic waving of the English flag. It really brings out some national pride.......... .......and pisses off left-wing PC do-gooders etc:nono: Richard :D
  17. The matrix itself is not expensive - it's just the labour to fit the thing that is. You have to remove sooooo many things to get to it. As for the K-weld in the coolant, drain the system flush and refill immediately. This stuff can ruin a ZX engine - efficient cooling is vital in an engine that generates so much heat. Any additive can block water-ways impeding flow of coolant causing overheating, thus damaging the engine. A quick-fix is to by-pass the matrix with hose, the heating won't work then but as it's summer shortly that is not an issue at present. Richard
  18. At work (Aylesbury) we sometimes use Premier Express Couriers, they are pretty reliable Much better than TNT or Shitty-Link. I don't have a number though - sorry mate Richard
  19. Naah!! it's only a V reg ;) (I'd love a new one though.......... :nono: ) Richard :slap:
  20. Heh heh!! I know I'm getting old but I thought the years were going past a little too quickly there!!! ;) Richard :p
  21. Congratulations mate  Richard

Have to agree here. No excuses for D&D :nono: As for speed, I always respect 30/40 and "most" 50 zones but I still tend to see "national speed limit" as whatever speed I see as safe to drive at. If that means 100+ on an empty dry clear and straight motorway then I'll take my chances with the law. BTW anyone ever notice how many women speed in inappropriate circunstances? Sure, not as many women will do over 100 as men. But I've lost count of the number of women tailgaiting me at 30 through town; or when I'm a passenger in their cars, drive at 45 in a 30 zone (then keep at 45 on a dual carriageway  ). The one that always gets me though is the number of women who drive at 30 through a fekking car park :nono: SLOW DOWN!!!!!! There are sooooo many hazzards there, cars reversing out of spaces, kids walking with their parents etc etc. 10mph is more appropriate for any car park :slap: Rant over ;) Richard :D
  23. No worries mate! Blood hell - just noticed you have been a member for over a year  Is it really that long since Jay sold his ZX?...... Richard
  24. Another Bucks member here ;) Richard :p
  25. To continue this, so does any car in the UK/European market. J-spec 300zx's (or any other jap imports) are not immune to rust either. A J-spec car generally has less rust because the roads in Japan are not salted in winter - if a J-spec car has spent a few years on UK roads it will rust at the same rate....... Have to agree about the mass-market thing though. Nissan are probably the Japanese equivalent of Ford. There are indeed probably an equal number of 13 year old fords in the same condition as a 13 year old ZX. Don't forget the RS range has an ownership base to exceed the 300zx numbers. However I would say that on a percentage (of numbers sold) basis there are probably more 13 year old Primeras in good condition than 13 year old Mondeos. I would always trust the mechanics of a Japanese car over any other - my daily driver is a Mercedes SLK but I still have more faith in my 300zx ;) Richard
