  1. You may well have the deeds mate but the charge your mortgage provider has over your house would still be registered........ Richard :)
  2. Generally yes, although there are a few on here  Mine doesn't look that good at the moment - I couldn't resist using it for a few days on filthy wet country lanes recently, so it could do with a good wash and polish  Richard :)
  3. HID headlight conversion
  4. Sure was a nice day yesterday but I didn't use the ZX as it was too dirty :wack: :slap: Richard :smash:
  5. I used mine daily for a long while - after changing jobs I was driving 50 miles each day to/from work for almost a year. No problems at all - UK spec TT, now on 84k miles (was on 63k when I bought it) I have another daily driver now, not because of doubting the ZX's reliability but having an original low mileage UK car I wanted to keep it that way. I still use the ZX on holidays now, sometimes covering almost 2000 miles in a week and it still gives no trouble. I prefer to use it for covering large mileages than my Rav-4 or Merc SLK. Richard :)
  6. You may have noticed the upper end of your rev counter is red in colour. Going into this for anything other than a brief moment is very bad - that's why it is red and the hand book tells you not to do it "....otherwise engine damage may occur....." Sorry for the sarcasm but your mate either drives a Honda V-tec or is full of shite :slap: Richard
  7. Exactly. Leave it on unless you want to avoid going into top gear. If the 'box is constantly changing gear under normal driving it won't affect fuel economy as shifting up to a higher gear will always be more efficient. If you have a manual, you don't drive everywhere in 2nd or 3rd do you? You change into 4th or 5th for most normal cruising unless you really want to boot it. Let the 'box do it's own thing - if working properly it knows better than you! Richard
  8. Visual effect? Richard :slap:
  9. J-spec cars mate..... .....the UK spec has adequate cooling for the auto-box oil owing to the higher speeds driven in UK/Europe. If you have a J-spec car then upgrade the oil cooler to the UK spec item to stop the 'box blowing up after a (very) few thousand miles of driving over here. Richard :)
  10. Have to second that Vinz  Looks damn good, Si. Get that engine done and enjoy! Richard :smw:
  11. What did I miss then?? I've just noticed you've edited your first post, but I assumed this was just a joke anyway. Like you were simply facing your z-problems with a touch of humour....... Sorry about your car though - it must be the most problematic ZX I've ever known. Good luck mate :smw:
  12. Quite simply, the previous owner put the car in for repair not you. At that point the car was still his, therefore his choice to get the work done unless you agreed in advance that you would pay for the work. If he advertised the car as "a good runner" or such the like, then if it was not running properly before selling it to you, he is responsible for the tuning work to get the car in proper running order for the sale - thus backing up his claim the car is good. Finally he released the car to you on receipt of the bank draft for the price agreed. You are not responsible for the extra repair money. Write back to the debt collection agency explaining all this. Furthermore, he obviously mis-described the car; ie it is a year older than he claimed. You could counter-sue for your money back on this fact alone. Tell him to stick it up his arse mate - you are in the right. All the best Richard
  13. So true. The ZX is a heavy fast car so the weight takes its toll on the brakes over the years. Stock set-up when they are in good condition will stop the car more than safely. Get the calipers overhauled, re-fill with decent fluid then even a stock-sized disc upgrade with decent pads will be more than enough to bring the car to a safe halt from 100+ If you have Macca-style power then spend the money on a full conversion. Richard
  14. Wise words there mate  I met Julia when I was 26. Back then she knew my love for cars and accepted it as part of who I am. She doesn't understand of course but still accepts it and has been known to attend the odd meet or show, as she appreciates it as one of my interests. I can spend as much or as little as I like on my four wheeled interests without fear of grief etc etc - top girl! We married when I was 30 (always swore I'd never get married before then), now I'm 36 we are still as happy as ever. Her, me, the ZX  , SLK etc etc   Richard
  15. Jay300zx. Not long after I got my ZX I went to the Royal Oak meet. I drove into the car park, lined up with the other Zs and Jay was the last person into the pub, hence he stopped to introduce himself. Nice fella, he is too. Richard :)
  16. Viva Las Vegas..... etc etc. Happy 30th mate - hope you have a blast  Richard
  17. If it has tits or tyres it will cost you dearly
  18. Sorry to hear that Trin :( Good luck with the sale anyway.... Richard
  19. Sounds about right - it was a long time ago, but I knew it was around the £200 mark....... :)
  20. I have these too - but I also got mine from Outlander. Very easy DIY mod and the group buy in December 2004 was worth it at £200 a set  Definately a super upgrade - will think about doint it to my SLK as well. Richard
  21. So do I..........all the time........ I really must stop it :smash: Richard
  22. Luke at the Z centre or Mike Feeney at MJP both stock them mate. Same price from both, but can't remember what that is....... :smash: Check out Luke's website. Richard
  23. Don't worry...... ....a little diesel in a petrol engine can make a good upper cylinder lubricant :x: Much worse to put petrol oin a diesel car and start it :smash: Richard
  24. Chavtastic  Real class that one  Richard
