What bumper is on this Zed?
I do like that rear bumper - it just finishes off the standard look without being OTT. Front is OK but I still think the 99-spec is the best looking front end  Richard :smw:

Love to - she's fekking stunning

tailgate tubs
I've seen one on a SWB - makes the car look kind of like a Lotus Esprit at the rear, which is not necessarily a bad thing. However I wouldn't do it to a LWB at all for the reason stated above. Anyway I prefer the sleek look the rear screen gives the car, not the "cut-of XJS" look of the tub. If you like it, that's all that matters. Richard :smw:

Car price guides - fekking rubbish??
Hey all Just used the Parker's link from Exchange & Mart and the WhatCar link from Auto trader to value our Corsa, which we are planning to get rid of. It's a 2000 W reg 1.4 sport 16v (top of the range) with 50k miles FSH (we've owned it for 5 years), air con etc etc and the TOP dealer price says £2600 - private sale around £2395. YET, when I look at cars for sale in both E&M and Auto Trader there are basic 1.0 and 1.2 models (without even electric windows) the same age and mileage being offered for sale at £3,500  That's not just the odd few - it seems to be the going rate - anything between £3-3500 FFS..... Thing is my receptionist at work would like it but after checking the so-called price guides, then seeing what price they are actually being advertised at I have no idea how much to ask for it. Anyway - does anyone want a nice, tidy reliable daily driver........ ;) See http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=65506 Richard :D

Hey SI, Sorry to hear that :( Your Z is too good and should be saved! Could Z-tech not do the re-build for you? Must be a better bet than taking a chance buying a 2nd hand engine elsewhere.... Good luck Richard :)

islamic cartoons
I would not normally respond either as my views on this sort of thing are normally just kept to myself (as I do not follow the path of ANY mainstream religion) ..... ....however: I'm not a racist (my wife is Asian before anyone suggests otherwise) but firstly and most important, if I condemn Islam, it's my personal view on a way of life NOT A RACE. Secondly the modern face of Islam seems to be a reflection of the Catholic faith in the Middle Ages - no tollerance of anyone with different views and DOUBLE STANDARDS. In Egypt (an Islamic Country) a national newspaper regularly publishes cartoons damning the Jewish Faith. When a western jounalist questioned this she was told "Just accept it, it should not be taken seriously" Yet do the Jews protest and storm the Egyptian embassies? No, they ignore it and laugh along without letting it get to them. The Islamic protesters were challenging the right to free speech in the west. HELLO....if there was no free speech they would NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO PROTEST IN THE FIRST PLACE. Whatever way you look at it, this minority of Muslims are painting a bad view of the whole Islamic faith. Back in the Middle Ages, the Muslims were innovative forward thinking scientists who contributed a great deal towards our current lives. Yet now this minority have rejected all that and slam anyone not following their faith. In certain Muslim countries, anyone born a Muslim but who converts later in life to another faith faces death for being an "Apostate" What kind of liberty and peaceful attitude it that? Whilst the majority of British Muslims do not follow the views of the extremists, it's time for the Government and the main Muslim community to condemn these fundamentalists and outlaw this inexcusable behaviour. Just remember this hatred and incitement to hatred is a crime; and arrest and imprison the perpetrators as terrorists. F#ck them, they should have no such rights in a civilised world. This is the 21st century FFS, not the middle ages. Get over it - it's only a fekking cartoon. And if they are so enraged then stop with similar behaviour to other faiths. Richard

fVuking gutted!!!
Sorry to hear that mate :( Hopefully the insurance will sort it OK - if you have a classic policy then you do not have any NCB, so that won't matter. Also Carol Nash do (at your request, and on production of photos of the car) an agreed value policy at no extra cost. Hope it works out for you. Richard :)

lifty up thing! haha
IIRC the UK spec series 2 cars had the arm rest cover replaced with leather to match the seats. Otherwise yes, the trim was all tweed. Richard :)

Wrx V 300
Have to agree with Si (again :smash: ) All that technology and both Mitsi and Scooby chose to stick it in a saloon car :xxx:  What a waste - why not build it into a proper coupe FFS......? Richard :)

cheap 4x4
I bought a Rav-4 last year and I've still got it as it's actually a pretty good drive. I bought a V reg SWB with all gadgets, a/c, electric roof etc for £5k but you can find older much cheaper examples now. OK it's probably crap off road but it drives like a car, grips very well in snow and ice and is "GTi-quick" Returns an average 28mpg too and I drive it quite hard....... .....although on a long m-way run to Cornwall at 95-100mph it is no more efficient than my Z :wack: Richard
