  1. BTW don't worry about he aerial. Just give it a clean and lubricate with WD40. If necessary, replace the relay (a small opaque ciggy-box sized thing inside the boot in the r/h rear arch); I had the same prob when I bought my UK spec 3 years ago. The ariel has worked 100% since  Richard ;)
  2. Very nice  And £3000 for a nice unmolested UK spec is by no means OTT on price mate. If the mileage is good and low then you got a steal IMO :hyper: It's only the dodgy rough E-bay dogs going for £2000 that make decent prices hard to achieve for those few good cars left (on here). Richard :D
  3. I reckon glass mate. Richard
  4. Just tell them eveything and let them decide. That way if you ever have an accident they cannot weasle out of the claim. Whilst this may not appear to have much on you financially, supose the accident was your fault and the other party claimed for thousands in respect of personal injury etc etc.???? You'd truly be buggered - you'd lose everything not to mention a potential prison sentence for breaking the law by driving without insurance. Just not worth the risk mate. Richard
  5. Sounds like the speed sensor to me as well......... ;)
  6. I believe that is for manual boxes mate. Richard :smw:
  7. I don't reckon it makes any difference TBH. Combined with an exhaust upgrade you *may* see a little increase in turbo boost pressure as the engine breathes better. The only increase in fuel consumption is caused by an increase in enthusiastic driving, taking advantage of the couple of extra horses released ;) Richard :D
  8.  Good old Spud-Wagon Blue :x: :mac1: Richard :D
  9. I can recommend the 3G discs as a very good upgrade to stock parts. Very reasonable cost too  Richard :D
  10. Don't the 99-spec rear lights have chrome inserts? If so then the standars centre lights will not have them so will look a little different close up??? Richard
  11. Hi Mate, I passed you in the other direction going through Fairford Leys early this afternoon. I was too slow to flash, I was heading toward the Oxford road in a silver SLK. Richard ;)
  12. Your car is looking mighty fine Si   Just get that engine sorted, bung in leather and it wil be perfect!! Love those wheels on a pearl white.....  Richard :D
  13. Personally I'd sell yours and buy a manual if you are fed up with the auto. The conversion is around £1500 and once spent, it is dead money as you'll never get it back. Take your time and hunt out the right TT manual. Richard :smw:
  14. NOOOOOOOOOOO :mac1: Do not use oil additives, just buy a good quality oil in the first place. There are many opinions on what oil to use here but if your engine is pretty standard then a good starting point is Nissan's recommendation. A 10w40 semi synth changed regularly won't do any harm. I personally use a 5w40 fully synthetic (Shell Helix Ultra). A good fully synthetic will always be better than a semi for turbos. Richard :D
  15. Nissan do ready-mixed coolant too ;) First thing for me though would be to check why the car needs topping up in the first place. I have never had to top up the coolant since I've owned the ZX. Richard :smw:
  16. I agree - this works all the time  Richard :D
  17. I pretty much like everything about the car. It can look a little odd side-on with the stock front spoiler, bit of an "overbite" going on there, but the 99 spec front really finished it perfectly  I'd say the only downside is the width. It's fine for road presence and overall handling but it can be a b@stard in some parking bays. Overall a fantastic car that has stood the test of time. It has aged far better than the Supra Mk4, RX7 and Mitsi 3000gt :nana2: Richard :hyper:
  18. Why such a fuss - does it really matter?? Richard :x: ;)
  19. Offering half the new cost is more than fair IMO. This tosser chose to flash his warrant to intimidate Mrs Royal; furthermore he already admitted the mirror had previously been broken. How did the damage occur? Was he overtaking your Mrs - if so he is at fault for not giving her enough room so tell him to feck off and sue. Chances are he won't bother. Offer to pay for just the glass and put it in the condition prior to the accident. If he doesn't like it tell him to feck off anyway. He won't sue, he's just trying to scare your Mrs. Good luck mate. Richard :smw:
  20. Sometimes I've had whole bus-queues turn their heads to watch the ZX cruise by. It is a great feeling, shows what special cars these are  Richard ;)
  21. Sorry to see that mate  The feckers that do this sort of thing need hot bovril poured over their genitals then have a rabid pit-bull terrier let loose on them. Hope the insurance comes good for you. Richard
  22. Is this a SUPERCHIPS chip? I hear they are bad news for the 300zx...?? Richard :)
  23. I've heard if it snaps on an auto you have less chance of engine damage as the drive disengages when the engine stops, thus preventing the engine "running on" and causing damage. I guess you won't know until you take things apart........ Richard

Ditto mate! CLK200 is a nice car but will be VERY underpowered. I have driven a 230 kompressor and that feels slow as well - the 230 is just fine in my SLK though. If you want a CLK the 430 V8 is best and the 320 is adequate. Ask Paul C about the Mercedes - he works for them! Richard :smw:
  25. Hey ZX-TT I saw that very atrocity outside the very same store (well, Roseby's actually - but it is next door to Wickes ;) ) on Wednesday........ Made me snigger too Richard
