  1. Furthermore 5th gear is a joke now anyway. It's just a pale imitation of Top Gear - just Tiff & Plato's driving skills keep the show remotely watchable. Like the one where Tiff drove the Focus ST and Astra VXR round the track with one arm behind his back. That "Old Merc" thing this evening was a copy of TG's feature with the Toyota truck a year ago. And Vicky's screeching is FEKKING ANNOYING! She's only there to be PC and appeal to the female viewer FFS, remember the attempt to hit 200 in the Aston? Dopey bint kept squeeling as the speedo hit 175. JUST PUT YOUR FEKKING FOOT DOWN AND LET THE CAR ACCELERATE YOU STUPID TART!!!!! Complete opposite of Jezza in TG a week or so later - foot down in the 'Vette, max reached, job done. Rant over ;) Richard :D
  2. Saw that too last week - whole draw thingy must have been a con  Richard ;)
  3. Sorry to see that mate  If Julia ever openly thought about doing that to my car there'd be no talk of divorce....... ......I'd have her professionally killed, that's a promise ;) Richard
  4. I thought it was the other way round - the US only got the TT version as an SWB, the NA was sold in both types  Richard ;)
  5. For sat nav and traffic updates you can't go wrong with SmartNav  I've had it fitted to a couple of our rep's cars, the annual sub is £120 and you can upgrade it to give speed camera warnings too..... Richard ;)
  6. Do you need the carbon effect one? If it is just for a template why not try AndyZ for a second hand stock one? Richard :smw:
  7. Traction control is indeed a great modification, although I don't have it on my zx. I did think about it when I first got the car, but I found changing the tyres made so much difference I decided to live without it. BTW mine is a UK car and it was fitted with new Avon ZZ1s when I bought it - I ditched them for new Goodyear GSD3s and the car was transformed  I still drive carefully in the wet of course but if I have felt the need to boot it, it has behaved itself for the last 3 years so far........... ;) Richard :D
  8. I like the 944 turbo but it does look dated now, whereas the 300zx has stood the test of time. When the 300zx was introduced it did indeed steal the 944 turbo's crown. Not only that but Nissan's test drivers lapped the Nurburgring faster than Porsche's could in their new 928gt  There are unfortunately more clapped out 300zxs around than clapped out 944 turbos, which is why comparing the cars now could show the Porsche in a better light. Take identical condition/mileage cars together and the ZX should still have it beaten. As for the 968, WhatCar called it "agricultural compared to it's Japanese rivals" in a test against the 300zx, Supra tt and 3000GT. Richard :smw:
  9. Hey Si You could try http://www.mandmsports.com Richard :smw:
  10. Julia and I had "One Year of Love" by Queen..... ......taken from my fave film ever - Highlander  It's the song in the background when McLeod meets the police forensic girl in the bar. Richard :D
  11. The Zen garage can do this at a reasonable cost, considering the amount of work that is required. Richard :smw:
  12. With the 300zx, UK cars and imports both have identical underseal. However with the cars being 12-16 years old now it would be worth getting it done again. When I bought my UK car I thought paying £40 or so (can't remember exactly) to replenish the underseal would be a sound investment. Richard :D
  13. Welcome to the club mate! There are a few good ones for sale on here at the moment. I'd steer clear of Ebay Zeds unless they are being sold by an enthusiast. Most of the £2000 dogs are on Ebay. Pay a bit more for a good one and it will be reliable - it's a Nissan afterall ;) I've had mine 3 years now - UK spec car that had 60k miles and FSH when I bought it. It's now up to 80k and has never let me down at all. Richard :smw:
  14. Had a wee tussle with a shiny new red Astra VXR this morning. Basically a rolling start from about 30-ish along a single, then dual carriageway. I wasn't in the ZX though, but in my SLK230....... I have to say it didn't gain much ground over the merc and up to 130mph (on a private road of course ;) ) it was barely ahead at all. My 300zx TT (virtually stock, except for filter and exhaust) would have easliy stuffed it  Richard :D
  15. Yet again I have to agree with you there Si :nana2: Nothing but drivel designed to hypnotise vacuous morons. I have a theory about the name too. It's not called Big Brother because the inmates are constantly watched, it's quite the reverse. It's a sinister plot by the powers that be, to have control over people. Once those vacuous morons are hypnotised into watching it, they are under a spell and their whereabouts are easily known and movements for the next x weeks carefully dictated....... You have been warned......... ;) Richard
  16. Glad to see you are on the mend at last mate :hyper: Good luck Chunkster :nana2: Richard :D
  17. I know exactly what you mean - can't escape it unfortunately. Groupf of guys at work were discussing BB today as if it was the best thing in ages, I politely suggested they were a bunch of sad tossers who need to get out more.......... :nelson: Richard :D
  18. 100% working - never had a major problem with it  Richard :hyper:
  19. Don't give a feck........ :mac1: Hate football and there's a load of it coming up this summer. :headvswal Richard
  20. Not on a public road of course....... ......but I've driven an HKS prepped Supra TT at an indicated 300km/h (that's 187.5mph :hyper: ) A long time ago (at least 12 years back) I had a go in a Lister tuned Jaguar 6.0 V12 - saw over 170mph on the M11 :x: Richard :smw:
  21. Done 12 cars whilst in the ZX ....... On another occasion (same road, just a mile or so later ;) ) 7 cars and one coach  Richard :hyper:
  22. If not the fuse it will be the relay. It's a small opaque ciggi-box size thing inside the right hand rear wheel arch cover in the boot. Richard ;)
  23. Just a note on oil viscocity - when fully warm 0w40 and 10w40 are the same mate. The first number refers to the oil's ability to circulate when cold and the second number is the viscocity when hot. Although Mobil-1 0w40 seems to be as thin as gnats piss........ ;) Richard :D
  24. Ditto Faz! ;) Damn football - the late finish fecked my recording of Dr Who  I have no idea why terrestrial chanels need to show it nowadays as all footie fans have Sky  I reckon all matches should be left on sky :x: Richard :nelson:
