  1. Hey Si...... .....I have - I assume you mean the SP Sport 9000s with the V-tread pattern. I have found them to be very good on my ZX; they grip well in dry and wet conditions and they have lasted well so far (that's miles not hours:tongue:). I don't drive it slowly either and can honestly say I've had no loss of traction or wayward back end moments! Richard:cool:
  2. My thoughts too........... ....nice one Stuart:D Richard:dance:
  3. Yes that's right. However when you install the HIDs and switch on the side lights, there is not enough power to activate the HIDs on dim-dip; therefore they just stay off. That's what happened when I did my conversion, anyway. With normal H3 bulbs the dim-dip worked but with the HIDs there's nothing until the headlights are properly turned on. I have not done any other wiring mods other than connecting the HID kit to the loom as normal. Richard:smw:
  4. I'd suggest sticking with VAG cars too....... .......if not an A4 then what about a Passat? Richard
  5. A wise choice, Vini....... .....apart from the caravan;) Richard:D
  6. I had this problem many years ago and I just put a masonery drill bit into an electric drill (not the rechargable battery variety but a proper mains one) and just drilled the b@stard until there was no tension holding it tightly in place. It just took a simple pair of long nosed pliers to remove it after 15 minutes of drilling!! Richard:D
  7. Lead is quite soft so a hacksaw should make easy work of it Richard:cool:
  8. Same here...... ....I hope to go on the Friday though - it's more expensive but much better IMO as it's less busy!! Richard:cool:
  9. As above...... .....go with the Audi mate!! Richard:cool:
  10. Exactly!! (I think that - but cannot remember!!) the key on a UK spec still comes out if the shifter is in "N" but I know that you can move the shifter through the gears without the key in the ignition. Richard:D
  11. I used it a while ago but in recent years I switched to Turtle Wax Extreme - mainly due to the 2 for 3 offers in Halfords.........;) .........However Halfords are currently doing 2 for 3 on Autoglym so I stocked up last weekend. I washed and polished the Z, SLK and Rav using their shampoo and Super Resin Polish; I have to say, I'd forgotten just how good the SRP was:dance: The ZX came up just like new, plus it was even easy to get a shine on the "stone chip paint" round the bottom of the car. My SLK is black and I can honestly say I've never used a better polish for black paintwork. Even after a week outside in our great summer weather, the car is repelling the dirt and crap really well. Richard:D
  12. Definately! I am looking at getting mine resprayed over the winter. I asked a local respected 'shop I pass on the way to work and the owner reckons it would cost about £3k, including fixing the rust coming through on the OSR wheel arch. So for £4k I would expect perfection. Richard:smw:
  13. Try Lynbrooks mate 0845 130 4662 Richard:cool:
  14. Looks good mate:bow: The 99-spec is my favourite front end.........;) Richard:D
  15. Done via Paypal. Richard
  16. I try to pack the night before so that I can get away quickly in the morning....... ......but sometimes I leave it until the day!! Richard:cool:
  17. What he said.......... Richard:cool:
  18. Mine went like that - redlined in 1st and 3rd gears; then it appeared fine when coming off the gas. It turned out that 2nd and 4th had "vanished" and the cure was a full rebuild...... £1200 later and it's better than ever! I hope your's is not so serious..... Richard:cool:
  19. My thoughts too Vini:hyper: Looks like your hard work has paid off....... Richard:cool:
  20. Wasn't that Dipone's car, mate? Richard

Bloody hell, mate! What do the birds round your way eat.......:( Richard
  22. I'd say that despite its age, a 300zx would stand up comparitively well in a collision. Sure, it may lack air bags, seat-belt pre-tensioners etc that most modern cars have; but it was actually designed from the ground up to be driven at 155 mph+ so some consideration would have been given to actully crashing at that speed. Additional passive restraint aside, it's the cabin that needs to remain intact to ensure minimal injury. Also the late 1980s was when many manufacturers began to take safety more seriously. The humble Mk3 Astra for example was launched in 1991 and had side impact beams in the doors, seat-belt pre-tensioners etc etc. Some of the features would have been conceived in the late 80s prior to the car going on sale. [DISCLAIMER] This is just my opinion - I don't recommend going out and hitting a wall at 150mph to test any theories posted!!!!:p Richard:rolleyes:

I couldn't agree more..... .......The crap then just attacks the coating of wax (or silicone etc etc) rather than your paint; even if it's a few days before you can clean it off. Richard:cool:
  24. Cheers Si........(and everyone else;)) Here's a couple more......... Richard:cool:
  25. My thoughts too mate! I am not into watching any sport or the hero worshipping of sports personalities....... .......however it this can restore some much needed national pride then then it's certainly a good thing. Heaven knows, after 11 years of this government attempting to beat any remaining pride in the UK out of us, we definately need it!!! Richard:bow:
