Are later Z32's better than their earlier cousins?
The latter mate.... ? Buy the best maintained and looked after example you can find - irrespective of year. And don't always think that the latest models are the best specced - with regards equipment, the series two cars (c1994-1997) may be generally better; as Nissan gradually removed the odd bit of "standard" kit in the final years of production, in order to keep the cars keenly priced. That said, there are exceptions to every rule - and J-spec cars can be found with many variations!

What did you do to your zed today?
...And spurred on by Si's comments, I gave my Zed a thorough wash - including shampooing the underside (not that I am paranoid). I then blow-dried it with my leaf blower, just to be sure it wasn't still damp, before wiping it down with detailing spray and popping it safely back into the garage....!

What did you do to your zed today?
LOL - all cars will eventually..... and I still reckon there's little harm done on my two recent Sunday jaunts. It's been mild and wet here the last couple of weeks, so most remaining salt will have been washed away... He says, tentatively thinking back to when I last saw salt on the roads ? Not sure on the edit though - I don't think I edited anything.... ?

What did you do to your zed today?
Not intentionally Si - no salt on the roads around here for the last couple of weeks ?

What did you do to your zed today?
So after last Sunday's little trip, we took another pre-Christmas jaunt in the Zed today, this time down to Bath..... ...Although it needs a damn good wash now, as it's covered in road grime! Still, on a slight detour home, via Bathampton, the chap collecting payments at the toll bridge was certainly taken with the Zed... "I'm F~~~ing loving that car" was among one of the things he said ?

What did you do to your zed today?
Nothing for the last couple of days..... ....But on Sunday we visited the Oxford Christmas Market - and because Oxford city centre is not the most car-friendly of places, I decided to take the Zed (I know the best place to park LOL)... Whilst there, we naturally bought a few bits - one thing being a bottle of artisan gin. The sales guy was pretty good at his pitch, but needn't have bothered, as the gin was lovely... And not only does this particular distiller plant a tree for every bottle sold, they also give you the unique code to follow "your" tree ? So when said salesman said to me, after I handed over the money, that the planet would thank me for my actions - I could not restrain myself. I laughed and replied, "I doubt it, you should see what we're driving home in ? " I was still grinning as we slowly burbled through the outskirts of Oxford, on the way back to the M40?

300zx uk spec cutting out
Welcome to the club Wahid - and that fault sounds like the PTU..... Common problem, owing to its proximity in the engine bay making it susceptible to heat over time. Assuming it is the PTU, your best cure is to buy a series 2 PTU (and wiring harness). The series 2 version is less vulnerable to failure ? Richard

300ZX vs Supra vs RX7 - 90s Legends Compared
I have to admit, I did have a soft spot for that mint, dark red, stock UK-spec Supra opposite us at the NEC.... ?

automatic TT gearbox
I wasn't aware there were any differences either - all I know is that the J-spec autos have selectable hold and sport modes whereas EU/UK specs don't. And whilst not mechanically attributable to the auto 'box itself, the EU/UK spec cars have a better oil cooling facility, in recognition of the more sustained high speed driving we do, compared to in Japan.
